    It’s a great detector I’m using mine in a seriously hard hit river spot by 3 800’s and in 3 hunts it’s like a new spot again 30 silver coins one 1721 Pistareen 2 halves and a bunch of dimes seated barbers mercs and a few Rosie’s and clad it’s better at separating Good example of plug cutting I see big time UA-cam guys making complete circles I’ve even stated this to them

      This is for beginners for the 900. If your buying at this range, it's understood you know the basics and are familiar with detecting.
      Buy a simplex or a detecor from the Vanquish line. I personally started out with the vanquish 540. It's expensive but she's amazing. I would recommend the 540 for being Multi frequency over the simplex because rhe simplex is single frequency

      I imagine most people wouldn’t immediately begin with a top-of-the-range machine like this and so have the basic knowledge of the features and language from using other detectors. Example: myself :-) I cut my teeth on a $150 Go Find and now I’ve bought the $1500 equinox 900. I’m a beginner with this model but not with the hobby 👍🏻

    Maybe for the way you detect, the numbers don't mean anything, but I've seen blokes call the piece before it
    comes out of the using that number, and be right most of the time.

    Hey thanks for your tutorial, its helpful to know how to noise cancel and how to set sensitivity. I do have one question though…..the 900 claims 5-6 meters but you said each little depth symbol represents only 2” depth, that math doesnt add up or am i looking at it the wrongway? Anyways thanks for the video!

    • @SodBustersMetalDetecting

      Max depth depends on ground conditions, emi, coil size etc. Each bar represents 2"

    Hi mate, I’ve been using the 800 for just over 6 years now and I’m thinking of upgrading to the 900 or the manticore, but the manticore seems way to expensive for virtually the same results, so I’ll probably settle on the 900,
    Seems everyone keeps saying it’s like the Nox 800 on steroids, I did notice you didn’t explain the auto tracking for a stable detecting session

    Was enjoying this video until you said that the vdi numbers shouldn’t be considered . So why do you have a modern day detector .

    • @SodBustersMetalDetecting
      @SodBustersMetalDetecting  5 місяців тому

      If you rely on the vdi to determine your dig you are missing good targets. It is a reference tool only and should not be trusted. Detect a deep target and as you dig closer to the target, many times you will see the vdi change. Give it a shot and you will see why I say the vdi should not be the determining factor.
      Happy hunting

    When doing a set up vid, slow down and decide what you are doing, with what buttons on the machine. You know this and the rest of us don't. Think of a slow step by step. Think of teaching someone to drive a car, just throw them in the driver's seat with verbal instructions and hope for the best? Slow down and describe what buttons are pressed at what point to achieve what goal. You know this well, we don't, but want to learn, slow down.
