You guys basically added exactly what I described (in depth) in the feedback form last year. This will definitely speed things up for us electronic music producers (or sound designers)
I have to say props to Steinberg for actually implementing features that will improve music workflow instead of throwing a couple of half baked AI features into the software to follow the current trend.
Wow, these are game changing! Pretty much exactly what I've wanted Steinberg to add to Cubase for years now. This is going to make sound design so much easier and more fun in Cubase
some midi modifiers can be automated, some can't. Unfortunately length compression cannot be modulated or automated. That's was what I hoped the new modulators could do, but apparently that doesn't work. I hoped one could also modulate the gate parameter of the new pattern sequencer, but that doesn't seem to work either.
@carlos_dego, you can automate the step length of the arpeggio, but only in quantized steps, for instance the predifined note lengths that arpache 5 offers. However in Cubase 13 you have the option to record note length compression alongside the arpeggio, so that you get smooth decreases or increases in Note length while you record. You have to do that with the mouse, so it's a bit clumsy and not really automation.
Thanks for a great video! How did you get the sound from Retrologue so snappy with the LFO Module? Tried to do the same but not snappy or transient rich as you're at all! Jost woozy and muddy...
Ok, I’m old. I remember that Cubase had a MIDI mixer map that I could use for creating basic editors for my hardware synthesizers. Did that feature disappear completely or can I use Modulators for making something similar?
Thank you! i´m just testing it, i want to control several softsynths with my softube console mk2, but it seems, as if you only can create 8 Modulators per Track, is that true? That would be sad, or is there a way to add more?
cool , but it seems you can't write on your track the modulation automation. I create an auto fader follow using the new volume plugin with the envelope follower. I wan't to write it down but there is no way.... Any clue? Thank you.
, I hope they continue the mission and create more complex modulations like in bitwig studio, and also have their own modular synthesis system like the grid, I'm waiting for the winter sale to buy a bitwig, I'm more of a synthesis nerd and that DAW is stealing my attention, more than 15 years with cubase, but there are cubase 13 updates that I hated and still hate, but this update I will definitely have to try.
FL Studio made Ableton which in turn made Bitwig which in turn made Cubase do something that was long overdue. Cubase needs a freesh breath of modern era.
Why does the env follower not allow midi sources? That would have been soo nice. Just to be able to use envelopes like inside a synth but for other effects in the chain.
I Found a Few BUGS Already One Is I Can No Longer Drag And Drop MIDI From Cubase 14 To My Mac Descktop It Works In Cubase 13 And Dose Not Work In Cubase 14 I Hope They FIX That Fast It Is Faster Then Exposing As MIDI
I would have preferred a million times if they had improved Frequency, created something to fix pops and clicks and resonances! In general, they just added modules for those who produce electronic music. I think they messed up this one.
The programmers in Cubase don't listen to what the engineers in the studio need. I can give you at least 10 types that I miss in Cubase, and at least 10 types that make Cubase useless. People in Cubas don't want to do what needs to be done, they don't communicate, they don't answer, there is no direct contact from the studio. Cubase could be perfect, but they don't want to.
aha. they don't tell you this only works with TRACK VST instruments, NOT RACK VST instruments. threw me for a moment. Think it would be a bit more helpful and honest to point this out.
Modulators were the last thing I missed from Live! WOOHOO
Indeed and it's been a long wait, requested years a go.
FINALLY!!!!! Huge update for Cubase
You guys basically added exactly what I described (in depth) in the feedback form last year.

Haha guess I wasn't the only one to request this type of thing in the feedback last year! Great minds eh?
Bless 🔥🔥🔥
Or like me, making modern metal. :D Super impressive feature in Cubase 14!
Sold! This was number one on my wish list. This looks like the best update in ages.
*That's a great addition to the toolset. I especially like that Modulators can modulate other Modulators as well!*
Mudulators, Finaly! 😍
Thank you Steinberg! 😘
Are those working only for Steinberb plugins?
This entire version update for Cubase is absolutely fantastic.
That's how you implement such a feature. Pretty impressed with the new features in Cubase 14. Very useful stuff for electronic music producers.
💯

OMG Finally! The most missing thing in Cubase!
OMG!!! I have been asking for this for years!!! amazing... this is a brilliant update... woo hoo... so happy 😀
Finally. Been waiting a long time for this
This is amazing, been wishing for something like this for a looong time 🤩
The Best DAW 100% 💥🙌
Ive been wishing for this for years! Thank you 🙏
Been waiting for this for like, forever...................!
OMG It's amazing, makes it sound fresh!
Been waiting years for this feature.... the only feature I wanted from Ableton is finally in Cubase 💪 Endless creative possibilities
Wow! Great! The feature I was waiting for so long!
Oh this is so much more straightforward than it used to be and there are so many more options. Envelope follower omg😮
Macro buttons! Finally!
That's really great actually
FINALLY!!!!!!!! amazing
No need to feel curious of other DAWs anymore! And lessens the need for 3rd party VSTs. Cubase feels complete now. Great update!
Finally. Total bliss. I waitet 10 years+ for this and gave up hope on the way. ❤
What Mixer / controller are you using? Great video!
THANK YOU
The endless possibilities❤
Eyes on the future Steinberg! Let’s go
Can the modulators affect midi effects?
That would also be my main question.
I'd like to modulate midi note length for example.
@ Well, that can be done by the “midi modifier”, if you want it random. But I was thinking it more for modulate the rate of the arpegiator
some midi modifiers can be automated, some can't.
Unfortunately length compression cannot be modulated or automated.
That's was what I hoped the new modulators could do, but apparently that doesn't work.

Very useful! At last handy feature. Mmm… modulate compressor threshold depends on vocal track amplitude ie
Very impressive!
It's like a dream, seriously.
Really nice!!!! Does a modulator also work on a 3rd party VST or VSTi? That would be awesome of course. :)
yes it does
Thanks for a great video! How did you get the sound from Retrologue so snappy with the LFO Module? Tried to do the same but not snappy or transient rich as you're at all! Jost woozy and muddy...
Do the mods work on any plug in 🔌 or just Steinberg/Cubase plugins
Holy frick did they uncap insert limits? There's no way bro that's honestly such an important feature.
yoohoo 🎉🎉
Didnt 13 just come out? I havent even barely used 13 yet.. man.. time just flies when your out of work and struggling to find a job.
Keep pushing soldier 🫡

which mic is used for the voice of the instructor?
Hi , do you know if it’s possible to record the modulator automation on the automation lane ?
Thanks !
Can we modulate midi cc hardware like an external synth ?
@@jno8039 doesn’t work on midi channels. You can do that with midishaper though

Can you arrange it to the tempo othomatecli
WOW!!
Can I write automation to the modulator itself? So it'll change over time and change all the things connected to it accordingly?
I think I have this same question; can I automate or modulate the modulator knobs and sliders?
@@Alon21Ashkenazi yes
Wow
is it working with 3rd party plugins?
@@honeyhillbeats yup

I think you can do that shape can be used to do that if you take it out of loop mode.
lol I thought you were sitting directly in front of a 70" screen for a second there
Does this work 3rd party?
Yes
Finally
Steinberg cooked once again

So,an update only for EDM Producers,so sad...
Live has this function for almost 4 years! What took so long for Steinberg to do something similar?
Cubase is stealing Bitwigs lunch eh? 🤣
still behind Bitwig tho
This should have shipped with Cubase SX.
Why not in Artist? A DAW that costs 350 euros... really strange decision 😢
Okay... If Steinberg decide to let me output CV from my interface and allow these modulators as mod-sources... I can ditch Live.
Instance of reason rack on those tracks maybe? Would that work?
@@ApiaryProductions NI Reaktor is the answer. I just had it in my arsenal all along! Wheee!
I have the latest version of Cubase 13 installed and it is infinitely better than Cubase 14! especially in performance.
Now all I need is something for live looping and I can stop using ableton 😊
Looks like they just put the Cableguys out of business.
