For a homemade hamp this is a very good design in how basic it is, the only issue I have with the design is how long the tube is connecting the pump to the barrel meaning you loose most of the pressure so with a redesign making it a lot shorter you can get much better results
hey i like ur design but when i am building it, my darts barely go half the distance of ur darts even tho my tubing is airtight. does the thickness of the tube matter? what are u using as the outer barrel plz help
The size of the tube is not super necessary but around 1/4 of an inch would probably work best. I used an old marker for the outer barrel and it is a tight fit. The snugger the fit the farther it will shoot. :)
All of my tubing is 100% air tight so the only way for the air to get out it trough the nozzle. And also I made sure that the nerf darts fit very snuggly into the barrel. You basically what the dart to be air tight with the barrel once you put it in. :)
Thanks! Well when I was shooting it in the backyard it could easily go into the neighbors yard. Sadly I'm not real sure how far that is in ft. also, when I was shooting it in the house I was standing at one far wall and shooting/hitting the other. hopefully that kinda helps? haha!
I stuffed the very end of the tube into a slightly larger piece of tubing ( basically using the larger piece like an O-ring) so that it would fit snuggle in the hole in the pump itself. Once I was happy with the fit I wrapped it with electrical tape so it wouldn't back out. I am so happy to hear that you guys like it, and are building it! :)
Mechanical Ninjineer thats a good idea, but ive tried both on a similar build, and an inline clip (they are verry easy to make, just look up a tutourial) would massively reduce the deadspace inbetween the pump and the barrel, it would automaticly load the next dart and it gave me about 50% more range than the 6 round cylinder (about 120 feet with an 15-20 degree angle)
@@MechNinji Hey, you've earned it. It's good to see some of the younger generations actually DOING SOMETHING. You know, getting active and putting their creativity to some good use. It inspires me. You made my day so much better and helped me to get out of a month and a half long bland mood. Thank you. Keep up the great work!

What did you use to connect the ball pump to the old Crayola marker, and how did you keep it airtight?
That is called a hamp. Hamp is an abbreviation for High Airflow Manual Plunger and that's a pretty good example of one.
What ball pump did you use?
Nicely done
Thank you!
Mechanical Ninjineer make a pistol version
Mechanical Ninjineer what's the technical name of the plastic tube
Hey dude how hard is it hitting!!!
Awsome build btw
hey i like ur design

Thanks.
Then i guess it is my pump that is at fault.
btw how did u know whether your pump was going to be effective.
Thx 4 giving me an idea. I'm gonna do a mad Max cosplay gun, barrel break action and everything.
That sounds really awesome! :D
and how long did it take you to make take that shot?
i love shotguns i always want a nerf shotgun.
how do u connect the pump with the tube?
How many feet that the dart go
Make it an in line clip shotgun and you got a new subscriber
you should use stored energy
You could but it would take a lot longer to get off a shot and you could loose alot power.
and also how do you get your bullet to go so far ours only goes a couple of feet

how long is the ball pump
You can use any pump you like but mine is a little over 12in long.
Super easy, super cool! But how far does it shoot?

Mechanical Ninjineer not that much but thanks!
Thx man i love this ting
How did you connect the tubing to the pump and barrel. This is turning into a good project for me and my grandson.

Where did you get the tubing?
at homedepot
Cool
That's so cool.
Also you never linked the bow ( I've already seen the bow video but for newcomers :3)
I'm so glad that you like it! And thank you so much for telling me about the bow link! :)
Chronograph?
You can easily attach a inline clip to bring ots capacity up to 6 darts
very true! Iv been working on designing a berrel cylinder for it!

Yeah, I will have to play around with it and see what works best. Maybe I can make two models?
You sir, have earned yourself a "like" en a subscribe!
Excellent work!
Yay! I am so happy to hear that! :D

I'm going to try to make crafting days with my fiance's kids and this is now one of the first things on the list of crafts!
Thank you so much, that was very kind of you to say :). I am so happy that you enjoyed the video and plan to make it yourself! That is SOO cool! :D
Cool desing i could make a electrical shotgun
Yeah, it would be super easy to add a motor to it! :)
Was it the same pump used to fill air in bicycle tires
It was just an all purpose pump. I believe i bought it at a sporting goods store for like $5. :)
not an ideal sniper rifle as there is no trigger
Something I can actually do! lol
haha! :)
my name is jeff
Alright Flanders... Time ta diddally DIIIEEE!!!
Make it AUTOMATIC

Mechanical Ninjineer hi
You could put a top clip so it would look cooler or in the side so to reload it you would just need to turn it.
Yes! I want to add a 6 cylinder to the front of it. Just haven't got around to it yet! haha!
