Hi! Thanks for the tutorial. I’ve got a problem in the beginning: in All file, when I try to choose “Load SD Card” it says “cannot proceed” and it doesn’t let me proceed, therefore, I can’t import the LUT. What should I do? Is there a problem with the camera’s general configuration?
Great Tutorial! However, my cam is just hanging on the executing screen for a while and not doing anything, is it frozen? Have done it twice now and it's taking a long time but not loading. Thanks!
Can you transfer custom LUTs that are already loaded onto the camera, to an SD card so you can apply the monitor lut in resolve? Basically the reverse of this? My camera has someone else’s LUT that I’d like to apply in resolve, but don’t have the cube file. It’s just on the camera
Hi Matt, thanks for your comment. Here's a reply from Ian: Unfortunately .cube files can only be imported to the camera. In order for that file to exist in the camera, it had to have been loaded from somewhere. The only way to get the same LUT into Resolve is to source the luts origin.
Hi Arnel, here's a response from Megan, one of our Camera Tech Specialists: You just need to create one folder with the exact name of PMWF55_F5 and then place this folder inside the Camera folder that is already on your SD card. (As long you formatted it on the camera). Then you can place your LUT files in your new PMWF55_F5 folder. Otherwise the camera will not recognize the LUT.
Wish you'd do one for the Panasonic VariCam 35 cus I can't find step by step for that camera. I know it uses .vlt LUTS but no idea where to put on the SD card
I'm not getting any error, but when I hit execute it just hangs there while the "File Access Executing..." window is up, and I have to restart the camera to do anything after that. I let it sit for 10 minutes to make sure it wasn't just taking a while.
I have a very low light situation therefore I have to use Custom mode and a high ISO plus high noise reduction. I like SLOG3 but also want to output via HDMI for Facebook Live. Is there any way to use an MLUT to give a bright image to the live feed?
Here is a response from Corey, one of our tech specialists: Unfortunately, there is no way to use any of the MLUTs in Custom mode. You could either choose to shoot in a HyperGamma instead as a compromise between SLog3 and R709, or continue shooting in Slog3 and utilize either a LUT box like the Teradek COLR or a monitor that can apply a LUT to the HDMI output like those from SmallHD.
Hi Tim, Sorry for the delay, here is a response from Ian, one of our tech specialists: It does matter which 1D LUT you apply to the footage. This is because S-Log 2 & 3 are different gamma response curves. The 1D LUT you apply to the respective log capture remaps the image properly to REC 709.
I don't think it can do two luts at once, but you could apply the Sony Slog3 LUT first when you are creating your custom LUT and then add your adjustments on top of that. (But I'd recommend using Noam Kroll's Slog3 LUT rather thatn Sony's, just google that to find it)
I had the same problem. I was using S-Gamut/SLOG2 as my base setting. But when I switched to S-Gamut.CIne/SLOG3 it wasn't greyed out. Where you in SLOG2 as well? I think you can only add 3D lut's when the BASE setting of the camera is in S-Gamut.CIne/SLOG3 mode.
Here is a response from Geoff, one of our tech specialists: 'NG' is Sony's code indicating that there was an issue with the file you are trying to load into the camera. The most likely problem is that you may have mistakenly tried to import one of the "housekeeping" files (these are normally invisible) that your computer makes when writing out to an SD card. It's also possible that the filename given to your LUT is too long. Try reducing the filename to fewer characters. Other than these common issues, you make just want to go through the whole process one more time and double check everything. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
Thanks for this, one of those Vids that will last for ages.
Thanks, but would love it if you could throw a audio noise reduction filter on your awesome video.

i dont have the shogun. Please, how can I use the FS7 with vmix for livestreaming? I will be happy if u do a video

Same with me for one of the LUTs I've tried to load and others failed to load with an error message NG (which presumably means No Good)
Thank you. Excellent. very clear, very especific.
Thanks for the great tut. Is it normal that it execute more than 5min ?

AbelCine I shall find the source and kill it. Thanks!
When you drag a LUT onto the SD Card, do you have to make multiple folders? Or can you drag it to the one PMW folder?

file name is quite short (Slog3.cube) and I've only loaded the .cube file.
Did you resolve this? I'm having similar issues and worse with some LUTs. Some just give an NG error message.

Thank you for your help. I think one of the HyperGamma settings will be my best option.
Does it matter if you apply this Lut to slog2 or slog3? or do you get the same result?

Can it display two LUTs? one to convert log to 709, and one on top of it with stylized colors?

Hi.
It won't let me select the 3D LUT option. It just greys it out?
Please help
+peter bishop Are you in CINE EI mode? You need to be in this mode to use LUTs.
@Shawn Strong If you haven't resolved the problem, you need to go into "Category" and choose 3DLUT as the file you want to use as your monitor LUT.

@@gerko1701 I can confirm! Sadly you have to use slog3...another quirk in the fs7 universe....
@@mozzfather Thanks for this! I had the same issue
When I load it I get a NG after hitting execute, doing everything as instructed. Any ideas?

I am also getting an NG and I did the process again and had the same thing. I create .cube fiile through premiere. Thoughts?
