This video is very nostalgic for me cause it was the first live video of Trivium I ever saw on YT, back when I discovered them (it's crazy that it was new when I watched it), but comparing their performance here to how they play today, the difference is night and day lol
He's doing hammerons and pulloffs (otherwise known as legato) while dampening the strings to make it sound clearer (this way in case he touches other strings when he doesn't mean to, they won't make a sound). For anything, it's for showing off.
yeah that's true. I just like Ascendancy more, it's just my preference. Shogun is like right behind Ascendancy, their music seems a lot more complicated now than it was though.
Agree with that fully, although the solo's in the Crusade always blow me away even though sometimes it seems like they'd be better off in other songs, e.g Unrepentant solo would sound much better in place of the Into the Mouth we March solo, if you get what I mean
its about how to train yourself to growl properly and basically improve your overall technique as a vocalist. theres shit loads of techniques on there and lil tips etc. its called the Zen Of Screaming. check it out man

meh... I'll say that in Shogun they play better, but for the sake of listening I'll take Ascendancy any day. I personally just like Ascendancy the most, Shogun is right behind it though, then Ember, and last and pretty much least is the Crusade.

i read on ulitmate guitar that its gunna be a mix of both their last cds some some scream some singing and they had the whole track record
