Once again, thank you for this lovely video. I can always rely on your wonderful photography to help me find the next hybrid to acquire! I hope you are enjoying spring in Oregon. :)
Happy to share, thank you for your feedback! Spring is a beautiful time over here, enjoying the change of seasons and seeing the mother nature waking up this time of the year.
Lovely and relaxing, nice music too. I bet if you listed the names in a comment you would have alot of people coming to your videos in searching for particular violets.
Me encanta tu colección. Yo tenía como 10 distintas violetas, pero se me enfermaron y solo me quedaron 3 muy tristes. Pero voy a seguir cuidando las para que estén bellas como las tuyas. Felicidades.
Your African Violet Collection is so beautiful, I watched most of your videos and you inspired me to start my own collection, I have ordered from the Violet Barn Mini's, Standard, and Trailers which are doing really nice, your videos provided the info I needed for Light, Soil, Fertilizer, propagation and care. Thank you for sharing 💜
Thank you! The variegated minis and semis are a result of growing under Barrina grow light, they seem to love it, showing the best variegation I’ve seen on them so far. The standards shown in this episode grow mostly under the regular LED shop lights.
@@grayturtleviolets okay thanks for sharing! I remember a while back that the light was too strong and burning some of your plant babies. I'm happy to hear that you have them set up where they are more happy.. 😊
Beautiful collection!! I am wondering, are those miniature violets or standard size!! Mine have more leaves. Should I remove some leaves to make the plant blossoms longer? Thanks!!
Thank you! Most of the varieties shown on shelf 1 are standards, most on shelf 2 are minis and semis. Yes, grooming and repotting regularly, every 6 months or so, helps encourage blooming.
@@grayturtleviolets thanks so much!! Another question, I bought several new ones from the Violet Barn and some are in bloom already!! How soon should I repot them? In 6 months as you mentioned before? The pot is small squares, and plants have nice big leaves, much bigger than a pot!! Thanks!!Спасибо!!🤗🤗
@@marinatuberman3489 Congrats on the new arrivals! In this video, I show how I treat all new plants, both those bought from the online vendors and the local nurseries: ua-cam.com/video/FR3srOXimVY/v-deo.html. Happy growing!
I order both plants and leaves, although I find that growing from leaves works best for me. It takes a while for newly acquired plants to go through quarantine and adjust to my growing environment, whereas those grown from leaves normally grow well right away. I had good experience ordering from Lyndon Lyon, Violet Barn, Woodland Blooms, Fancy Bloomers, and eBay.
One more request, please. If possible, could you also list where you got each selection that you show in these wonderful videos whether it started as plant or leaves . for example, I noticed you cited Lyndon Lyon greenhouse on a couple. . I realize they may not have exact ones now but helpful place to start. Thank you!
@@SS11660 When Lyndon Lyon Greenhouses is included in parentheses, it's usually part of the official description of the hybrid, denoting the hybridizer, rather than the acquisition source. It has 80 hybrid reviews at the moment, hope I can produce more, time permitting. Appreciate your feedback!
You're the bast. Everyone who grows and loves plants is happy because they are beautiful.

Each plant is so beautiful , I have a few violets but they look poor next to yours , thank you for the video, what fertilizer do you use ?
Thank you! I use Jack’s Classic 20-20-20, 1/8 tsp per gallon of water.
Thank you for your very informative and well done African Violet videos. May I ask if you primarily purchase from a particular hybridizer?
Appreciate your feedback! I mainly purchase from Violet Barn and Lyndon Lyon Greenhouses.

@@grayturtleviolets oh good to know. Thanks
Which grow light did you grow these beautiful plants under? 💚🌿
The variegated minis grow under the Barrina Full Spectrum grow light, and the other ones - under the 5,000K/4,100LM LED shop light, 10 hr/day.

@@grayturtleviolets great tip about leaves. ! Plus , you probably get more than one baby plant per leaf? I am learning alot from your videos. Thanks
