It takes me a while to sew a garment - even easy ones - I will never be someone who can cut out and sew a garment in an hour. It may not be absolutely perfect, but I want it to be the best I can do at the time (and that’s after 45 years of sewing 😆). I’m not one for rushing to finish for the sake of it. Look forward to seeing how you resolve the welt pocket.
I like the idea of practical sewing and only making things that will fit into your lifestyle. As someone who has only been sewing for only a few years I’ve been guilty of being easily influenced into buying the latest pattern/fabric and making things as quickly as I can. Nowadays I’m trying to be more mindful and only make things that are suited to my lifestyle and also spend some time perfecting the techniques to make something with a clean and neat finish. Good luck on the welt pocket!
I know you will be having your welt pockets made brilliantly, Judi. You are a great sewist! I am currently not in Norway, and have been watching UA-cam all day (feeling poorly. In bed all day). And there you were! Suddenly popping up on a Sunday night. (And I mean night. 2 in the morning). So nice! Thank you! Have a lovely week!😊👏❤️
I have learnt to sew what I need for my lifestyle after being influenced all to often into making things that just don't get worn😀 Im sure your welt pockets will be great in the end and the jacket will be a perfect extra layer for you. The green machine looks like a really useful too, I've looked into getting one myself but i'm running out of storage space.
Nice work on your vest jacket. Rivets are always an anxious moment. I have the blue version of your green machine. I just used it to punch holes in gift card holders. On to your next video. Trying to catch up!
I’m happy you got the drip sorted Judi how annoying it must have been. I’ve never sewn a welt pocket but I know you’ll get it spot on ☺️ Try and find some me time as I know how busy you are🥰
I don’t have a “green machine” but must re-train myself on my Prym snap button applicator! I am a fuss-pot as well, and get so annoyed when something is a “wee titch” off! And yes, please, take care of yourself!
You need a hole punch to make the holes for the eyelets. Should be able to get one just the right size. There might be an attachment for the green machine but I don’t know anything about them.
It was really interesting to see the actual time taken to sew your garments. You have most probably done this but have you tried an awl to make the holes for the fasteners and basting by hand or machine to complete the welt pockets..I always think it's best to walk.away as otherwise I make silly mistakes
Hi Judy. It's very nice to see you too! I'm here to spend a few minutes with you
Thanks for coming x

Glad you got your drip sorted! I hope the welt pocket wrangling works out! Xxx
It has - as for the drip it’s now intermittent 🙈

I think I could use it more - but it scares me xx

Welts done - as for the drip it’s intermittent and I’ve got it covered for now! Xxx
Hi Judy, it was great to see the green machine in action as I’ve recently purchased one of these but I’ve not actually used it yet. Lol
Wonderful! It’s finding instructions and suppliers - I’ll keep looking xxx

I have to admit these rivets and snaps scare me. I’m frighted of ruining a lovely garmentxx
