- Pants optional. Wouldn't that be nice for your work day? Remote working can make that possible, and many companies are starting to change their culture to offer those options.

Now, August 2020, UNEXPECTED PANDEMIC, everybody in quarentine, remote working has proved to be the only and best way for a lot of companies and employees!! And a lot of people are discovering and revealing where and how they want to work... We have become the masters of our lives...
Remote Front End Engineer and will never go back to normal employment. Working out of my awesome apartment balcony with no shoes on, music blasting, cooking awesome food, and my dog just farted.
your dog's fart inspired me.
I'm a Front End Developer too and recently decided to work remotely. Can you give me some advice on how to find a remote job?
lol shout out to you and your dog
@@sinamirhejazi268 You apply what you learn in a video in the comment section, I am impressed!
@@Siik94Skillz I decided to work remotely, then searched the web for other's experiences about the pros and cons of it. And also ask for help from other developers. It's not like I got familiar with the concept right here in this video
This guy was way ahead of it's time.
I never felt like I fit in in a traditional 9-5 job and have loved the transition to being a remote worker. I now run Hacker Paradise, a community of traveling remote workers, and love being able to collaborate with a great community of remote workers every day. I have no regrets leaving corporate America to join the remote workforce.
Interesting stuff Spencer, so is your community all remote workers or digital nomads or a mix of the above?
@@roseagra remote workers and digital nomads. There's all sorts of people that join us
i wanted to join you how can i apply?
i start working remotely! its awesome.. i have more time to do my own stuff LOVE IT!
This guy and so many others spoke of the future of remote work and they are smart! Now that we are In the pandemic it has become more of a reality and easy for other people.
I love the idea of being able to move wherever you want. My husband I are both remote workers and we're thinking of living on a resort we recently had a short vacation at until we pick our next permanent spot! I'd rather make up a job for myself to do at home then hunt for someone willing to pay me to go to their office everyday!!!
That's great - what do you do for work?
Hi Rachel, any suggestion for how to effectively search for remote work for an apps dev or any job in general ???
where could i go about looking for remote work online ? Any agencies I could turn to ?
Just started a new position and working from home today for the first time. They allow remote or on site. Gonna switch it up whenever. Awesome place!
Finally I am working from home !!!
its fun
Thanks to Corona ...
I've been working remotely as a UI designer for the last six years for several tech/software companies around the world. It's harder to find remote roles in the UK though, but many London based tech companies do offer part remote as a benefit, which makes me laugh because it's to their benefit too. Trust is the big thing though and if you love the work you do, then you'll always get the work done!!
where r u working?
This guy was ahead of his time
It's my dream to be a remote worker. Can't do an office job. Having the flexibility to do a job that you an do anywhere from a computer is exactly what I need.
It's worth it, I'm doing it right now, granted not in the field that I am currently working towards getting into, but it's MUCH better than everything else that I've been through.
I'm a construction project manager that when we had a hot job to estimate, I would take it home and knock it out from home over a weekend, effectively teaching my employer that my best, most productive work takes place with me working at home. Then I just did that more and more until I only came in to the office for required meetings and all of my work was done from home and my employer was never even asked. lol
LoL, im have been trying that for a while ( making home office very often) to return to my home town (i moved because the job but now i have 2 kids and the living wage is expensive and do not have family support so its kind of hard an inneficent life style) and just when i was ready to offer the remote job option, the company says that wants to centralize my job posittion... tis thime is another city bigger and i dont think i can support all tat stuff to start on another city again.. so im going all or nothing wish me luck!
I know this is an older post, but hope you might be willing to weigh in on remote working 100% in construction administrative work, such as SharePoint Document Controls or Marketing. Thanks.
I want remote work. I am web developer/designer.
@@fernandocastro2075 good luck
You are really a loving helping person. God Bless you . Thank you very much for your information.....
J-Dogg!!!Loved working with Justin. He has a brilliant mind and is always full of ideas. I miss Wings Thursday buddy it was always a learning experience.
Work from home FTW!
I've been a remote worker for 3 years now. I miss people. LOL!!!
hello i wanna work remotely can you recomend a site please?
I want to work remote
Exactly, everyone will soon realize this. It ain’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Remote jobs can really test your self discipline and self control. It’s important to have a normal work routine if you have a remote job..and a healthy one too
Aint' that the truth!
I work from home home as a nurse and ❤️it!!
I'm considering a remote nurse position as well. Do you miss interacting with other teammates?
@@brandimcgowan3796 I keep in contact with them via phone or Facebook. My new coworkers are you tube and audible 😊
I am a remote programmer and i am very happy o/ :D
I have had remote jobs for customer service because that is my only skills and what I love to do! The ones I have experience with were doing very fraudulent things and I had to quit due to an attack of conscience. I am still looking for remote work but one that wants to use my skills to better the world not scam them....
For me it's soooo much harder to focus working from home. I'm ok if I have something I absolutely NEED to get done that day but otherwise I'll take ridiculously long breaks and work inefficiently.
My job requires a time sheet so I end up working like 10-11 hours of work to fill out 8 hours of time sheet. If it's slow and it's more like be "on call" from 9-5 then WFH is easier to stomach.
I know someone will say I could focus if I really tried but why make things harder than they need to be.
After 20 years in the workforce, I dream of working from home.
Yeah the workplace sucks.
This aged well
Great talk 👍🏼 remote work is something I need to get into.
I've hated working from home during Coronavirus. Everything takes 3x longer because I need to play phone/email tag to get anything done, and my boss still expects the same level of productivity. I can see it working well for some roles but if you need to manage a team of people it's a huge headache.
Maybe you should stop micro managing your team and trust them.
Amen brother, remote work is horrible.
@@marlukcz this is super late lol but most of the people were new and needed to be walked through basic things, usually in person it was easier to explain things but remotely people didn't seem to retain the information as well and would ask the same/very similar questions multiple times.
Good talk.
The Corona virus is making this a huge part of the workforce so maybe employers will be more imaginative in the future.
Interesting right?
I work remotely and i've done 0 networking besides LinkedIn. Just saying.. networking is overrated.
Ozzy Gonzalez Then what really works?! How can I land a job without much networking?
@@moinulhaque4665 Having valuable skills
Must be willing to relocate to X on one's own dime... and these company without remote wonder why they only have local candidates.
The triangle should be named 'irony triangle of Employment' :(
This is an interesting Ted Talk.
i love work remove, i will become a remove developer in next year, :)
How teach me please
When did the dad from Fresh Prince of Bell Air become a TED speaker?
Majority of companies these days are shifting away from remote workers for employees and only allowing their task workers to do so. Because they know that remote workers rend to goof around and hard to reach. So they rather make sure they show up and are easy to reach. The most annoying thing is when we have a meeting with 10+ people, there always some idiots that work remotely can't get their damn mics to work.
BS. You are blind because no remote jobs for most of the people around the world. 95% of remote jobs are at IT (mainly coding, programming). And most jobs at US,UK,AUS. I studied chemical engineering 4 years and speak 4 langauges and no remote jobs at all in my country for me. You should title it remote jobs for programmers in USA
there's a huge talent pool of international workers willing to work for peanuts. u fools 😈
Most remote people I know work from home. Working from home in my experience seems to promote a more sedate lifestyle which leads to weight gain and Ill health. Sorry I don’t buy in.
This is 100% accurate, can confirm. It’s a sham, don’t do it.
