- This is the first video of a new series that ill be working on discussing the similarities between skateboarding and fishing. Not only the mindset, but the culture as well as the variations of backgrounds and styles.
I am not good at this yet, but I hope to improve.
I am kicking off this new series with Colby Wells. I met him last year at a park in Fort Smith, Arkansas and we have sense stayed in touch. I liked Colby from the moment I met him. He was nice to encouraging to the kids at the skatepark, was skating well, and I even saw him pick up some trash. most of all he loves skateboarding.
It wasn't until the second time I bumped into him at that skatepark that I found out he was also an avid angler.
I couldn't think of a better person to start with.
I'll be trying my best to make these regularly. I realize its a niche demographic and I will hopefully get better at short interviews.

Man! As a 39 year old as well, I have wanted to get back on a board. Never got good, but I am drawn to set up a board after near 20 years. And then recently I started wanting to tie flys after the same amount of time! I havent picked up a fly rod in 15 years. Buy both are something I need to do. Thanks for pushing an aging man to do two things that seem not interconnected but are. Truly enjoy your videos! Keep it up.
That was one of the most genuine and kind videos/ interview I've ever seen. Thanks Colby for representing Logan Co. and just being yourself. Drew, thank you for sharing such an awesome and kind experience with all of us. Kindness is a beautiful thing.

The Powell Angel Boy graphic was my first board too, that’s awesome. I had a buddy who got the “slick” version, those things were so heavy! Remember those?
