Thank you for doing this! The activator before more dips is something I had no clue about! Also, keeping the brush in zone 2 and fanning out is so helpful. I’m OCD, so I liked your tips!
Your extreme close up of your nail during application is super helpful!
Thank you Carole for explaining and doing this series. I am learning a lot from your Beginner Basics Series.
I’m so glad! 🥰
Okay I definitely needed step 7. Great video! Much appreciated 👍👍👍
i did my very first dip manicure today with tips and it came out so much better than i expected it to, i truly believe it’s from watching your beginner series!! thank you so much!!
I’m sooo glad!! 🥰🥰🥰
I love it!!!! Thank you for being so detailed with us💙💙
Thank you for watching!
This was so helpful!!!! Love the close ups. Thank you so much. :)
Wow, great video. You got really good angles and explained it very well, thank you!
Thank you! I’m so glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much. Your videos are so helpful
Amazing video! I can’t wait to try this method when I do my nails this week!!
Thank you!! 💖
Thank you for explaining it so well. I am a newbie. 🌺
OMG Thank you so much Ican't wait to follow this on my next set!
I love this video ❤️❤️. It's so important for the dip sistem. Thanks ☺️👍
Where can we find the document you were referencing?
Wow, thank you for this video! I’m definitely going to try it.
Love the new hair cut!!
Thank you! 🥰
Awesome tutorial!
SO helpful!!! If I wanted to build an apex with builder gel, how would I do that?
Also, did you do something different to your hair color? It looks really nice!!
Have you applied builder gel before?
I have a video on my process: ua-cam.com/video/MrmnMofNhKM/v-deo.html
But when I’m ready to cure the builder gel, I flip my hand upside down and let gravity do it’s work. I let it remain flipped for 15-30 seconds and the apex will naturally form. Then I quickly cure it.
And yes! I got a haircut! Much needed one 😅
Very helpful. Thank you!!
Great Tips Carole
Thank you!
Thank you
What tips do you use, I have super short nails and work at a hospital, I like my nails to be more of an active length, and I like the clear tips that you used, I would love to use those until my nails actually grow by using the dip, I am a newbie, so I am enjoying your series!
These: amzn.to/3IS9ffI
You can cut them down to coffin or shape them more round to almond.
@@CaroleAnnette thank you
Do you use tips? Also do you have a video on putting on tips? I’m new to dipping so I am watching all your videos. I have acrylics on now and haven’t been able to get to my regular salon and a friend started dipping so I though I would try it out.
I haven’t used tips since last year - but yes, I have!

Awesome video! If you have tips on with two layers of clear then peel base, at what step would you use clear to start building an apex? Would you build your apex with the two layers of clear before the peel base? Would the dip color come off okay doing it that way? Thank you!
Have you seen my peel base video over dip?
I would build the apex in clear, activate and shape.
Apply peel base, and dip.
I will go watch it now! And thank you ❤️
In case it’s hard to find: ua-cam.com/video/7DJ0RuuQUZM/v-deo.html
What color did you use? It is gorgeous 😍
Oh I found it in the information box 😅
Hi! Did you use builder gel over your tip?
Is no apex the reason I’m getting horizontal cracks across the top of my nails?
On the soul dips website when it has like the duo combinations is it nine dollars for both of them colors I’m a little confused
What is your best tip to prevent cracking on the edges of the nail? I didnt buff much on my current and first set of dip. Does the buffing of the sides and tip ensure longer lasting edges without breaks?
My tip(s) would be:
- don’t make the sidewalls and free edge tooo thin. It’s tempting because it looks nice, but when stress is applied to those areas, they can crack.
- read reviews. Some brands have less than stellar liquids and customers have reported issues with them cracking.
- apply a coat of clear dip on top of your solids/glitters to add extra strength. Since it’s clear, it won’t look super bulky, but you get the added strength you need.
- cap the free edge with dip powder (clear) and/or with your top coat liquid. It’s important the free edge is sealed in.
Great tips! I tried my first dip mani a week ago and it chipped after only 2 days ☹️. Going to try these ideas on my next one
Just a question- what makes you put tips on when using dip powder as you know makes your nails grow out ?
I only use them when my nail is short / I want a certain length
Do we need to do a builders gel or is this what you are putting on to make the apex?
No, this is just for dip powder
Oh no wonder my nails always pop off when I get nails done at a salon. There's no apex because I got flat as nails, so there's no strength keeping them down
Can we talk about that BLUE powder turning green?
Hahaha 🤣 it’s a thermal changer dip powder.
In the video, you said you'd be following steps 4-9 from the Revel chart. But you skipped over step 5 (the layer confined to the join of the tip to the natural nail) and instead repeated step 6. I wish you'd explained why you did that.
Also, it would be very helpful if you'd create a playlist of all the Beginner's Series videos. When browsing all the videos using a smartphone, the words Beginner's Series are cut off from most of the video titles. So to identity all the videos in that series, one has to click on *every* video to load it as that's the only way to see if Beginner's Series is in the title.
I’ll rewatch the video in a few to check and see what steps you’re referring to.
As for the series playlist, I do have one created for it: ua-cam.com/play/PLTg4My-2GEtg8khNM7YlyEW4klwib7zn4.html
Edit: I also have the playlist linked in the description of every video in the series, so anyone who wishes to see the rest of the videos can click on the playlist.
Got it! I know why I skipped step 5.
Step 4 is technically not a step. It tells you to identify the zones of the nails, and explains the meaning behind each zone.
Technically, the video starts following immediately at step 6, which focuses on Apex building.
Step 5 only exists to make the nail flush to the tip. Since this video isn’t about tips, including that step would be including unnecessary steps that don’t apply to everyone, as not everyone wears tips. The tip on my nail is already flush to the nail and it makes no sense for me to apply a thin line of dip (step 5) in the middle of my nail where the tip is. It would add unnecessary bulk.
Awesome tutorial!
Thank you!
