Almost a year of searching, and I finally found it... The $20 Cebu Blue Pothos at Lowes!!! I will definitely do some propagations with it!!! Thank you for the video!
Ugh some people can just not resist the urge to be a spaz. Harli, you’re very brave to put your techniques and methods on the internet. Something you shouldn’t have to be brave to do. But just so you know, the majority of us seek out your videos and leave with great inspiration. I’ve always loved plants, but your videos definitely enhanced my love for them and my addiction and appreciation has taken off over the years due to watching them. Keep doing what you’re doing. ❤️🪴
After that video you showed how you just cut every single leaf back when nothing else you do works? After watching that I did that with my elephant ears and my neon pothos. And it worked. I love your tips and tricks!
I'm only at minute 8 ish and keep cracking up every time you have a plant you prop by node and you say, should I take it out... no I shouldn't... and then continue on. I absolutely love your videos! And am so glad I found your channel!
From my experience removing the leaf on certain props can help so the plant can focus on making nice healthy roots! Thanks for all your tips and tricks Harli!
My lemon lime meranta gives me beautiful baby plants all the time. So thankful for propagating when a plant suffers a tragedy but I can save it through propagations and not lose the whole plant. Learned it from Harli
Keep doing you. There is always gonna be someone that wants something to fuss about. You've done nothing wrong shuga. I for one am glad I found you. I'm learning alot and I enjoy watching your no nonsense videos. And that belly is beautiful!!! I appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences with others.
As a botanist, i agree with 99% of your methods. We know the science but we do not know each plants wants an needs. You help with that! Thanks Harli! The one thing i do not like to see but is not a big deal is the algae growing on the roots. In your world its almost impossible not to do that but once you get to a point where you KNOW about when the pheno is going to root then stick it in a light free container. I do not see this hurting many species as long as they aint forced to grow in the sunlight for a long period of time. Again thanks for your videos!
Historically most of the plants I've purchased have been ones at Home Depot or Lowe's at everyone else has , I am just recently looking at more exotic plants . I enjoy the fact that you spend time showing videos like this to people so they could start their own collection. I am really enjoying that.

I have been struggling with a syngonium albo I bought a few mths ago that need some love! I honestly don’t know what I’d do w/o your videos Harley! I was totally doing all my propagations wrong! Thank you! God bless!
Hi Harli! I also love to propagate in sphagnum moss n water especially because it's so satisfying to see new roots forming on my plants. My faves to propagate are probably Monstera's, they have these big tubular roots, Syngonium's n Pothos because they prop so easily and I have recently started propagating my Hoya Crimson Princess, which does take longer, but not much longer since I learned the trick of sticking a Pothos cutting in all my water props. For those that don't know, Pothos has something in them that helps other plants to grow roots alot faster. Anywho, lol thanks, Harli for doing this vid on propagating, you look so pretty today n you have that prego glow going on. LoL I love watching your vids n You rock!🎸

I love propagation and I love following your propagation videos and updates! Ever since your string of hearts propagation video, I managed to propagate multiple times and share with all my friends!! Thank you for giving me the inspiration to share my love for plants with my family and friends (:
Harli, you are the best! Love this video format and would enjoy seeing more in the future. Anything you do is great! I always appreciate the tips and information you give in your videos. Very enjoyable to watch! 👏🌿🥰💚
Syngoniums in general are definitely my favourite type to propagate and preferably in moss as well! Plus all epiprenum and Scindapsus are easy as well but rather in water 😊
hi Harli!! As a new plant parent I have propagated 13 plants from Grandma Pothos!! 5 Airplane propagated!! I also have started sharing my plants with certain people! the Wandering Dude is my FOREST!!! I have 14 from Grandma Wandering Dude!!
I propagate a lot of plants with air layering, especially the new foliage because it’s so easy and I’ve never had a failure with air layering. My favorite to do this with is philodendron Melanochrysum. I find that sometimes taking the “safe” route can actually hurt. I always heard that you should take multi-node cutting to reduce chances of rot. I never understood why i couldn’t propagate micans successfully. Turned out all I had to do was chop the vine into individual nodes. I have almost 100% success when I cut a vine into single leaf nodes, but almost no success when I have a multi-node vine.
I LOVE propagating my string of pearls and string of hearts plants. They root in water or soil so easily (in my experience) and I just love watching them grow from something tiny to a full plant! I've just recently made my own prop box (inspired by you :D) but I've got some learning to do because a few of my nodes/leaves have rotted :(
Hi Harli! Thank you so much for this video. I want to try propping my burtoniae the way you do. I’m pretty new to propagating so sorry if this is a dumb question heh. I was wondering how you re-moisten the sphagnum moss in all those cups? Do you just spray with water? Pour into each cup? Or are there holes at the bottom and you pour water into the bin for them to soak it up?
love love love your videos! I have one suggestion.. would it be possible to make the audio on your videos louder? its so quiet on my computer. I literally turn off my air conditioning so I can actually hear it cause I wanna watch your videos that bad lol
I've been trying out different propagation mediums, I started with water then tried perlite and then tried moss. So far, I've only had one success with moss when I am propagating nodes. I didn't remove the leaves in mine. They were just leafless nodes so I decided to try out. Is it common for nodes to turn yellow when you are propagating them? Also, could you do a video on how you set up your prop boxes with the plastic cups? I would like to try that method. Your videos are always so informative.
I LOVE to prop my plants!!! I use moss as well and have had a lot of luck with it. The only thing I can't seem to get down is to pack the moss tight or loose then how to effectively water so to not drown the roots. help me 😂😆 Also I used your tip to completely chop my calatheas and it worked beautifully for them and some begonias that all kept suffering from spider mites. You're the best. 💕
I struggle with this at times too! I always err on the side of packing it a bit more loose so moisture doesn't hold in too long! I also prefer to use a spray bottle for watering!
Propagating is so addicting! Once you start, you can’t stop! Ignore the haters who think you expect everyone to take your OPINION as gospel. They’re just mad because they don’t have the success you have. Haters gonna hate sugar!
Love your videos and your generosity in sharing your techniques!! Btw have you ever had to monitor the pH of your moss? When I tried moss propagation, my props were doing super well fr the first couple of months and then eventually all rotted in moss, so I wonder if that's something that needs to be watched / neutralized? :-o
I love it when my pothos develops New roots *surprise* .. and I HATE when I over water or water my snake plant and it starts wilting.. so I take it OUT and put it in water.. and the shoots are so exciting.. I have about ten snake plant leaves in glass jars. LOL
Haili, I just asked a question on one of your older videos. I thought I would post it here too in case you would not see it. I just bought a Fittonia (nerve) plant- 1 day ago. When I got it home, I noticed it had a tiny round holes in a number of leaves. Could this be insects? Can I neem oil the leaves of this plant? Or what else could cause the holes?
Micans is my fav plant and I searched high and low for one, finally got my hands on two 4 in pots and I’ve taken small cuttings here and there where there’s a bare node or a damaged leaf that I can remove but it’s so hard for me to chop up a vine into individual leafless nodes cause I can’t bring myself to remove perfectly good beautiful leaves 🥺 but I wanna have a million more micans
No need to remove the leaf. My biggest success with propagating micans I actually got from one of Harli’s videos and it basically involved cutting up a vine into individual nodes with a leaf and water propagating the node by hanging it on the edge of a glass with the leaf. The node sits in water and the leaf acts as a hook on the side of the glass. Very high success rate.
For plants that are not placed in prop boxes, like your albo, you didn’t mention how you keep them? Are they just in a open cup with with Sphagnum and just avoid the node touching the moss?
Just curious. What is the nail polish that you are wearing? I know kind of a crazy question on a plant Mom's page, but I love plants & nail polish & blue.
Hi Harli from Quebec 🌿 I love LOVE your videos, I've learned a lot. I was wondering if you use any kind of fertiliser in your propagation box ? Foliaire maybe, like Dakine ? Thx 🥰

I was wondering if you use any kind of fertiliser in your propagation box ? Foliaire maybe, like Dakine ? Thx 🥰
Nope! Just regular ol’ liquidirt
Hi Harli,
My pilea is dropping yellow leaves and turning into a tree! Can I chop the trunk and propagate it in water??? What do you think?
Love your propagation videos. It gives me so much hope...even though most of my prop boxes end up molding 🥴
Gah dang mold! IDK why that seems to be an issue at times. SO frustrating, but definitely worth it the times they do work out
@@HarliG I live in Houston so humidity in my apartment is at a baseline of 50%. I’ve started leaving the lid off more than on!
