  • How to hook up a quick hitch on your tractor's three point hitch. What are the benefits of using a quick hitch? How to use a tractor quick hitch. Watch this video to get answers to all of these questions. The Worksaver Quick Hitch is an alternative to the John Deere iMatch and Land Pride versions. Many others make quick hitches as well including Speeco, Tar River, and Harbor Freight. All quick hitches are sort of created equal, but sort of not. They will be built to the same ASAE specification to control dimensional spacing, however quality and grade will vary. The Worksaver quick hitch has the most robust design on the market, weighs the most, and has the most substantial cross bracing.
    You can order a Worksaver quick hitch through me at Good Works Tractors. We can ship the quick hitch to you! This is a cheaper and superior alternative to the John Deere iMatch and Land Pride versions. Also, for a limited time, your first set of bushings are included at no additional cost! I have a quick hitch attachment on both of my tractors and love them so much. They make it easy to hook up the implements to my tractor and glad that I got these attachments.

    Quick tip, leave the quick hitch on the ground, attach the top link first, use a block to prop up one end of the quick hitch, then attach the lower links starting with the end without the block.

    Excellent how to video! Where were you several years ago when we bought an i-match from John Deere? LoL it was much more expensive than this 1..... The top link adapter intrigues me, that looks like the perfect item for a few of our non-compatable implements. Very clever!

    Wow, your videos are super detailed which is really awesome. I just subscribed because of it. I just bought a JD3039r and I’m more or less green so really have a lot to learn. You mentioned that nut on the center link getting tightened all the way down against the part of the center link that spins. I noticed you never did tighten it down to that though. Is that just because you were concentrating on the attachments? So, before you actually went off and used the brush hog you would’ve tightened that nut down? Thanks man, really precise video to teach us rookies!!

    How wide is the opening that attaches to the draft arm I purchased a I match for a category 1 and 2 That’s to small for the draft arm ball about a 1/4 to small I was wondering if a lot of I match hitches have this problem?

    From all appearances, it looks like the bushings could be installed with the large collar to the inside, and rather than have to use the roll pin to keep them in place, the large collar would do that. Then, use a thick washer with a keeper pin on the outside to keep the quick hitch hook from slipping off the hitch pin/bushing; OR.... simply redesign the bushing with a thinner collar on both ends. The quick hitch does not vary in width, so there would be no danger of the implement slipping off one side or the other. This way, the bushing is easily removable and can be used on many implements, rather than semi-permanently mounted to individual implements. This would accomplish two things: 1- you only need one set of bushings (although the manufacturer and dealer would love to sell you multiple sets), and 2- allows use of the implement in the normal way on a standard 3-point hitch that doesn't have a quick hitch in place. Just give the implement's pin a light coat of oil or grease to keep the bushing from rusting in place if left in the weather for long periods.

    • @GoodWorksTractors

      Would be nice if they are quickly removable. I'm struggling to see how with this design though.

      I just bought colar bushings for all my implements makes it so easy and in the long run it’s cheaper 1. No bending over changing bushings helps your back and no cuts or nicks on hands . 2 . I can just pull up to all of my implements grab and go Time is money 💵 Priceless.
      3. With Amazon , eBay , Tractor supply , harbor freight ya can find deals on bushings so cost is not that bad and they fit right. 4. no extra pins or washers to bend or loose and as we all know tractors love to eat pins and clips almost every other job they seem to eat one or two , cuts down on the amount pins to feed your tractor with the roll pinned bushings . And with a brush hog mower or a tiller or blade they jump around more than a box blade per say so seems a lil colar is a good thing IMHO
      I have a Landpride QuickHitch that came with my John Deere 3320 I bought it used so is what I Got and I gotta say I’m not a big fan I had to change the top hook for a different one to work on all my attachments was like it didn’t stick out far enough bought a few of them a lil trial and error but finally found one I think amazon that works great. So there’s a million combinations out there it comes down to what works for you there’s no right or wrong just I think it’s great we are all on our tractor getting it done boys !

    Not ever used one of these but am looking in to getting one. One question I have is, what keeps the top/center link connection from disengaging from the quick attach. Nothing there to hold it in place. For instance, pushing dirt or rocks with a blade turned backwards. Looks to me like that top/center connection would jump out?

    • @tayjadster
      @tayjadster Рік тому +1

      The bottom mechanism keeps the implement from lifting up which makes it impossible for the top link to pop out. However, if you have a mower or other implement with a floating or pivoting top link you have to swap out the top hook for the clevis style connector he showed at the beginning of the video. Although he had it backwards

    • @rickyanke9407
      @rickyanke9407 Місяць тому

      Yes, this will make it easier. You may still need to do some adjustments to get the quick hitch, especially if you have implements from different companies, but it does increase your flexibility and easier overall to attach almost any implements.

  • @richardbarreau2844
    @richardbarreau2844 4 роки тому +2

    wish you had extended your video and included more on the floating top link. What happens to the top arm on the three point hitch from the tractor? If you install as you implied in the video. It will not pick up the implement up without the top being attached to the tractor will it. Wouldn't the hitch just tip over toward the implement you are trying to pick up? I may not being understanding the floating top link correctly.

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  4 роки тому +1

      Sorry for the confusion. I had it shown reverse. Was trying to keep the camera on it and didn't pay attention to orientation of the floating adapter. If you put the forked end towards the tractor, you can then attach it through the same pin as the quick hitch and tractor top link. Does that make more sense?

    • @aaronbarkel4005
      @aaronbarkel4005 7 місяців тому

      Fwiw, the floating top link installs towards the tractor, making it easier to connect the top link on the tractor to the quick attach as opposed to installing towards the implement.
