    Real nice animals! We have very few here in the Ottawa Valley but they are here. We got one on a trail cam at the hunt camp two years ago. I've never seen one in the bush. Good job lads!

    Good discussion on the Lynx and saving the goods for future trapping.

    Just subscribed and glad I ran across you two on UA-cam. I had enjoyed the show tremendously and could never figure out why the Discovery Channel never picked your show back up.
    Wish I had a place to escape to, the city life even the small city like I live in is for the birds.
    Keep making the videos guys, good job.

    The old mountain men said that cat meat ( in their case it was cougar ) was their favorite game meat to eat. Have you ever tried Lynx ?

      We have indeed! It is a very white meat and tastes great! It is great fried in strips like deer meat, and I am hoping to turn some into jerky later this winter.

    I have tried it also but don't get it very often. I eat a lot of game , mostly bear , beaver , moose and some ducks and geese. I am enjoying your channel. ATB to you in the new year Paul

      Thanks! We're glad you're enjoying these! Sons of Winter was a blast to do, and it's too bad it was cancelled, but it gave us lots of ideas for UA-cam at least!

    That is the kind of door knob my grandparents had in the 1950s.

    Nice catch, as you say, a good surprise.

    • @BackwoodsBoys
      @BackwoodsBoys  6 років тому

      It sure was a great surprise! A lot better than many of the surprises that come along on a trapline... most of those end up with frustration and long walks home from a dead snowmobile haha.

    Ah, so you're using porcupine for bait. LOL

    • @BackwoodsBoys
      @BackwoodsBoys  6 років тому

      Haha yeah it's a brand new strategy! Bait them into the yard with porcupine, then catch them!

    • @archertwo
      @archertwo 6 років тому +1

      Add a piece to that. You baited the lynx into the yard with porcupine, then you caught it and will use the recycled waste from the eaten porcupine as lynx feces to catch some more is where I was getting at.

    • @BackwoodsBoys
      @BackwoodsBoys  6 років тому +1

      archertwo hahaha that's a good point! We used porcupine to catch the first, and recycled porcupine from here on out!

      @@BackwoodsBoys A porcupine is used as bait for lynx and the lynx is used as bait for bear - that’s what I call the food chain:D Good luck, fellas!

    dont kill animals dont be stupid

    • @BackwoodsBoys
      @BackwoodsBoys  5 років тому

      Death is a part of nature. The animals we kill are killed humanely and responsibly and die much nicer deaths than they would naturally.

      You should watch our videos explaining why we do what we do. We love the animals we hunt and trap, that is why we do what we do. It is all part of keeping a healthy balanced ecosystem.
