Good to see you back out again Dave, and credit to you for braving the cold. Yes it would have been warmer in front of the telly, but we'd have all missed that beautiful sunset.
Loving that honesty box for the cake! 😎 A bit of cake with a brew next to your tent is definitely something very special Dave!! The sunset sky looked a treat too. Great use of your tarp on the way up for some shelter from the wind and rain! Let’s hope some warmer weather is on its way!! 🤞🤗
Thanks Miriam , I always try and pass through that way for cake and yes I enjoyed it with my coffee . Sunset was lovely to watch but it certainly about time it warmed up 😎👍
Must be one of your favourite and handy places to camp and I can see why! Always great evening views from there too. Hopefully the weather will pick up over the coming weeks to allow you to get out again. 🤞
Typical with this weather sunny one minute and then rain the next, never know what coat to put on and I just knew that rain would come back. At least you got a bit of shelter from those rocks and to be fair, those evening view were stunning! Despite a cold morning it was good to see you did not have to pack away in the rain, cheers Alan
Thanks Alan , weather doesn’t know what the hell it’s doing from 1 hour to the next 🤷♂️ still I got a decent sunset and no rain to pack away in the morning was a bonus 👍 atb Dave
Glad to see you've shaken the dust off the Bivi again Dave...not so 'dusty' the following morning tho....a pretty damp 'un..💦..those fells are a great escape and I never tire of them...Ciao..llama_ladee_anny
Nice one Dave , good to see you back out . Your right it is nice but still cold . That was a nice sunset , i like that with the rays coming through the clouds . Good stuff , hopefully it heats up soon ..cheers Stevie
Nice one Dave, the weather is crazy at the mo so it pays to err on the side of caution with the sleep kit. I always get quite jealous of you and the folks up north living so close to those glorious national parks, such amazing views 👍
Good to see you back out Dave. We have had 6 months or so of rain and wind in Scotland. Its been a long, restless wait for a break in the weather. Need to get hill fit again. Atb.
Good to see you back out Dave. Know the feeling with the weather. It’s been awful trying to get your days off to match that one day when it’s actually decent.
you wouldn't of got them skies sitting in front of the tv Dave 👌 overall a good camp.plenty warm clobber definitely a must for the bivvy & tarp set up👍 me & my mate done a good 50mls on the bikes yesterday & it was bitter the full ride. rained all day here but sun out now 😊
Hi Dave, I'm glad you persisted with the camp, mind being the wimp that I am, I think I would have bailed, especially with the prospect of an overnight bivvy camp. I have often looked at the Brewcastle Fells when returning home from the South taking the M6/A7 route and wondered what they would be like to walk. I see in your videos, you mainly go off-piste which, now I'm nearing 70, is not really doable for me, I'm strickly a marked footpaths man these days; but I do enjoy watching your adventures, with vicarious pleasure. ATB Big Dave Scotland
Gorgeous evening skies Dave and a cracking pitch-spot. I know what you mean about this weather. It's either rain or freezing. The worst spring I can remember for years. Bye for now, Chris
Is there any water sources on the tops along the crag line? I can see lots of streams on the map but wondered if they were actually running sources? Thanks.
I’ve got the Alpkit Elan bivi. It has that foot tie out standard. I’ve done two bivis in it. One just below freezing and one hovering around 0. No condensation. I am not sure any bivi system will ever be condensation free in the damp part of the world we live in. What a crap winter, the worst Imo.
Yeah our humidity levels don’t help with condensation and just being a damp in general most of the time, and yes horrible wet winter . I gave up after December until about march and it still hasn’t improved that much 😂 atb Dave
Thank you for sharing your adventure! Thank you for taking me along. Good to have you back, Dave. Beautiful country and sunset. Cheers!
Thanks Dan , I was overdue a visit to the hills that’s for sure. Atb Dave ⛺️👍
@@BorderRambler You're very welcome, my friend!

Thanks , yeah it’s easy to cop out but I’m glad I made effort and yes it was a beautiful sunset 🌅👍 atb Dave

Gorgeous colours in that evening sky, loved the nightlapse too Dave. Fingers crossed for some better weather to come!👍👍
Thanks Anthony , I hope all is well with you 👍 atb Dave
Great sunset Dave. Looks like the weather has finally decided to screw the nut.
Thanks mate , it was a long wet winter that’s for sure . Hoping for some sunshine this weekend ⛺️👍

Cheers Lynden, 30 mins from home and always quiet . Warm weather is overdue that’s for sure 😎👍

Thanks Annie, I forget those hills also attract lots of moisture 😂 still bloody cold tho 🥶
Beautiful stones up on those fells. Definitely going to visit with my tarp soon.
Yes tarp more suitable for this rugged terrain atb Dave 👍

Thanks mate , yeah still cool on an evening for time of year. yeah we take it for granted at times having parks so close by 👍
Nice one Dave, weather not playing ball yet it looks miserable out there but made the best of it with a nice sunset. All the best👍🍺🍺
Thanks Snowy , yeah it’s been a long cold winter and it’s still lingering 😂 warming up later in the week hopefully 😎👍

Yes it’s been a long old winter that is for sure and still hanging in 😂 tfw atb Dave
That has to be a top spot to camp, more so on a warm sunny night to be fair, but even so what a view.
Good to see you back out Dave. Know the feeling with the weather. It’s been awful trying to get your days off to match that one day when it’s actually decent.

Have a great time

Thanks mate , yeah very little in the way of paths up there so deffo a no go for you 😂 as always appreciate you watching and commenting atb Dave ⛺️👍
Nice bivvy camp Dave. Think I might try my bivvy bag sometime. ATB
Hello old pal , yes give it a go Jim atb Dave

Absolutely Chris , we need it too warm up now and let’s us thaw out 😂 atb Dave
Hi Dave, glad to see you out in the bivy, it’s magic, loved the camp, location was nice, it’s been a biting cold wind this weekend !
Cheers Adrian
Thanks Adrian , yeah tough on the finger ends that’s for sure 😂 let’s hope it warms up this week like they say 😎 atb Dave
Great to see you back out, looks like me and you both have had a big lay off, let’s hope things improve including the rubbish weather. Atb Darren
It certainly needs to warm up and some decent dry spells too . See you out soon atb Dave ⛺️👍
Enjoyed that video, thanks for sharing. I just got the same bivvy but haven’t used it yet, gutted to see how much condensation you got 😕
Yeah it was pretty bad on this one 🤷♂️ conditions were poor , I should have brought my German groundsheet to stop any damp rising 😂
@@BorderRambler kind of regretting buying the Snugpak bivvy but I guess I won’t know until I give it a try
Is there any water sources on the tops along the crag line? I can see lots of streams on the map but wondered if they were actually running sources? Thanks.
Normally none , but if wet you get run offs starting . As a rule I collect water on the way up for this reason atb Dave ⛺️👍
That's more like it
About time Nobby 👍
You modded that snugpak mate? Looks like a tie out at the bottom.
Well spotted , yeah just to hold it up a little . Stitched a tie out onto it and seam sealed it 👍
@@BorderRambler nice one, just like the Alpkit now .
it sure is 👍
