Good to talk to the farmer Dave. I really think it adds to our experience connecting with the people right at the front line so to speak. Hey, the trusty old pitch. I've enjoyed seeing you here before and enjoyed this one. Fair conditions I'd say. Well, a result on all fronts - truly a privilege to be back out again. All the best up there. Mark
Thanks Mark they were both so friendly and had no issues with me camping on his land , I love that pitch great views all around . It’s the camping experience what I enjoy just being out there . TFW atb Dave ⛺️👍
@@BorderRambler Hey, that's good to hear Dave. It means you can relax more deeply now in those spaces you enjoy mate. Nice one. Have a great week ahead.
Always nice to meet a friendly farmer and his wife and they tend to be in my experience, as long as you are being sensible. Canny view from the summit and a nice place to pitch up for the night and remember people who are no longer with us, nice touch. Too right about the nights dawning in now and I hate it, I love the long warm summer nights. Maybe not the weather you wanted but to get a dry night and morning, not a bad camp I would say, cheers Alan
Thanks Alan , farmer was really friendly and had no issues with me camping . I always loved that spot as it does give superb views . The nights sure a drawing in rapidly now . It stayed dry which is always a bonus . TFW atb Dave ⛺️👍
We've all got them special location's that we never tire of Dave👍was looking at them decathlon pillows (pure luxury).night cutting in now like.no decent walks for me (can't shake injury off🤕) ok on bike luckily. take care.
Thanks Geordie my comfort blanket locations lol , pillow works a treat too . Hope the injury sorts itself out soon , glad your still out on the bike tho 🚲👍
It's great to reacquaint yourself with your old haunts Dave and reassuring having met the farmer and his wife! I wish the Lakes could be that quiet! Lol! 👍👍
Thanks Anthony it felt a lot more than 2 year since I camped up there , they were both really nice . Lakes has better views but has all the traffic , was in Keswick yesterday and it was busy lol tfw atb Dave ⛺️👍
Christ! I didn't know you could still get Revels. It's deffo good to go local sometimes, in fact I might just stay local for my next one too. Excellent film as usual pal. ATB, Chris
Nice overnight camp Dave. Lovely views. I got a SN cone for 400ml mug. Works very well with hexy blocks too. With the lower half and a few tent pegs, it can be used with mini trangia fry pan. ATB
What do you put under your stove to stop table melting Nice video Interesting as I've never used a bivy or anything over s bag in mine lol three nights in lakes last October in horrendous weather and regular down bag none of this treated stuff lol and was fine in ts lol you big jessy lol 😆
Just some foiled bubble wrap type stuff , the bivi doubles as windshield and little bit of extra warmth as that Rab bag is pretty crap . Also you are hardcore and I’m just a lightweight lol
It’s a tyvek bivi bag , weighs nothing but just keeps any condensation dripping onto my sleeping bag if any. I can get my mat and big inside it as it’s a decent size. AliExpress around £25 atb Dave
I think that's one of my fave locations Dave, I like the balance of views with trees and rocks all within eyeshot. I can never remember if that's an original Stormin Norman you use? And if so, I'm also surprised nobody has copied the design and relaunched it under a different name. Those summit to eat meals are a bugger to read the times and water required... I find it, and then write with a sharpie what it needs on the packet!! And you're right, if it says 8 mins, leave it for 10 or 11. Enjoyed this one mate. Lee
Thanks Lee , I missed camping up there . It’s the original stormin cone just changed the stove stove to a speedster one 👍 good idea re the sharpie as I always struggle to see/find the time lol TFW atb Dave ⛺️👍
@@BorderRambler Those STE are the worst, literally takes me 10 mins to find the cook time and water required...!! I study all of them and sharpie the lot in my MRE stocks... worthy tip also if darkness desends and you've run out of headtorch battery... and your on the emergency candle or phone torch 🔦 🤣

Thank you for acknowledging Steve’s loss. God bless him.
It was the least I could do .
What a cracking spot! You can’t beat camping near a rocky outcrop with great views
Thanks mate , tent blended in nicely in front of the rocks . TFW atb Dave
That's a good pillow very important for a good night's sleep😴👍😁

@@BorderRambler if you use the pan, some 'V' shaped pegs give it the clearance to work well. Otherwise, it will snuff out the burner.
