Synyster Gates is a musical genius.
Fell in love with this album, started learning this song in late march, I’ve never been so dedicated to learning something so challenging, will report back hopefully before the end of the year when I have the whole song at full speed
I've been telling people this is Avenged's Yeezus, super out there from what the fans are used to. This piano piece is a masterpiece, I'm telling you years later people will be mad they didn't like the album when it first came out.
its always like that... people will listen and think "gah, this is different from what they usually do! i hate it just because its different!" imagine if a7x was just another ac/dc, where all they do is have some shitty vocal noise (okay shitting on the vocals wasnt necessary, i know, but i just cant stand it) over the same 4/4 beat with the same power chords on every song..

I’ve never played piano but really want to start. I was thinking of this being the first song I attempt, I have a decent musical background. The triplets on the right hand are so cool

Start with fiction instead lol
This song is incredibly difficult. I think you might be better off starting with Fiction or A Little Piece of Heaven
Try out warmness on the soul, it's a fun intro and then goes into fairly simple alternating chords, one of my favorite prices to play, that and fiction is pretty fun as well

DO YOU THINK WAS DONE WITH A PIANO? iDK THE GROUPINGS are so weird at times... he also posted 4 years ago playing fiction, super Flat fingeres, no spider fingers, no arch , nothing, just octave's in the bass with some arpeggios to this in 4+ 5+ 6 years with these groupings that's a lot of hand independence, The descending lines are pretty common in the develpoment , but 16th notes bass arpeggios in the development before the coda . Measure 162 that would take Years of serious piano playing to develop the speed and split between those fast 16th's @ 150 BPM and quarters in the right with the Ritardando like that... IDK it's like drowened in reverb , so there's no actually way of thinking of a pedal from the recording and I know Andy wallace wouldn't make it so muddy like that, something is up, I love this tho thank you so much for this!

Synyster Gates has the finger speed not to mention the similarities between the guitar and piano, he's already done a master class video of him taping with two hands so accuracy isn't a problem either. Plus, he had some experience with piano prior to making their new album and had been studying it during their huge break. Not to mention the recording they did was literally just in his home, they just hooked up a few mics and had him play so he wouldnt feel the pressure of being in the recording studio
HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT THE RECORDING WAS IN THE HOME, I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY INTERVIEW OF HIM TALKINGA BOUT LIBAD TRACK AT ALL, THAT'S GREAT THO I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT OR HEAR IT LIKE TRAX PODCAST.

the song itself was written on midi over a decade ago and practiced heavily within the past years to actually be able to pull it off. @@Phaseish
