Best show I’ve ever been to. I will never forget it man I was so hyped and screaming and jumping the whole time. I couldn’t even speak the next day 🤘🏻
"In Waves" was the first song of the first band I saw play live at the first rock concert I ever attended. I went to see a Dream Theater show, and Trivium opened.
Unfortunately, the audio was so terrible that, despite also being a fan of Trivium, I only recognized two or three of their songs. It was so loud that everything they played was basically just noise. The songs I could recognize, like "In Waves" and "Throes of Perdition," were mostly me just playing them in my own head from memory.
As of two weeks ago, it's been eleven years since that show. I only went to one other live event since then, another Dream Theater show a few months later on the same tour and at the same venue. The second time around, the audio was a lot better. Wow, that was 10.5 years ago already.
I wish I could have seen Trivium play under more "sound" circumstances, but I don't regret that they are one of only two bands I've seen perform live.

Why does he keep giving the lyric hint each time? Seen him do this so many times, I think everybody who is going to sing along already knows the lyric (especially at a Trivium specific show) and for the ones hearing it for the first time it's really easy to pick up.
