Anyone know if the Thunder Dragon will take modern electronics including brushless motors and Li-Po batteries? Nothing crazy speed wise. But I hate the fact some of my other Tamiya re-re's are still designed with a battery tray for NiCd packs and won't allow easy use of a regular 2S LiPo.
I wanted one of these as a teenager, I saw one in Beatties for £50 so I saved my pocket money and sent my Dad to go and buy it. He didn't just come back with a kit but a whole deal, and instead of a Fire Dragon he had bought a Toyota Celica GT Four Rally with radio and battery and chargers etc. Needless to say I did not receive any pocket money for a while after that until my debt was paid, and I didn't even choose it! However, I was not disappointed. I do still have a soft spot for this though, and am sort of tempted, but I probably can't justify it.
seen that Fire Dragon for about 900 on Ebay- haha- I want this one also because it looks so strange, might get 2 if it's about priced as the Terra Scorch my Shorts
Well, that's Japan for you I guess! I'd love to get some more Tamiya RC vehicles and to be fair the Fire Dragon would be most welcome in my "garage". I've never had any of the Thunder Shot family.
Great news Gavin - was hoping for the Thunder Shot but it makes senses for this to follow the Terra Scorcher given the dual front shock configuration. Let’s hope the pricing is sensible - one would expect it to fall below price of a Terra Scorcher as it is a lower spec kit.
loved the build on the Terra Scorch, the only other I was really wanted was the Fire Dragon, yes great news, waiting on my pre-ordered VQS, love these mid range AWD Tamiyas.
Do you know if the Fire Dragon will come with a pre-painted shell like the recent Super Dragon ? Also do you think Tamiya will bring back the Saint Dragon ?
I was told Dec but I think that could have been Hong Kong release time. I hear it’s early 2021 for EU but I have nothing solid yet on delivery date and prices.
I'm another one who would love to see the Super Sabre rereleased. I realise it didn't sell all that well when originally made but it would seem that more than few people would be happy to buy one now. Will the fire dragon kit be exactly the same as the Terra Scorcher except with a different body?
Hi, A good few people have contacted me saying that it’s a shame Tamiya didn’t bring out the Thunder Dragon. I get the feeling more people would purchase that kit over the dragon.
Got an original Thunder Dragon and a rere Terra Scorcher so not overly excited in all honesty 🤔 if any from this platform tamiya should have considered re-releasing the Thunder Dragon in my opinion
@@RCKickschannel I hope not, but would imagine they might..... new kit, released around Christmas, in a year of high demand...... Hopefully the model shops will price at a more realistic price..... but as they've been hit by lockdown they might not cut as much as they have before. Just looking at the recent Vanquish and Avante RRPs..... they're pretty strong...... but the kits are selling.
Great news that Tamiya are still re issuing the Thunder shot chassis, i have to say though I'm not a fan of those gold coloured wheels on a TERRA SCORCHER 👎😁
When is the Porsche 959 coming back? I like the Novafox, but I’m getting tired of these derivative, cheap kits. I realize it costs less for Tamiya to keep re-issuing kits based on the same platform, but it’s getting lame.

Excited for this!
Great News Gavin 🤩 Tamiya Keep them Coming
Wonder if they have upgraded the A Part??
i'll have a fiver on 'no' XD
NO CHANCE! 🤣
No chance
Doubt it but there are some reinforcement bits available on eBay.
I am seriously getting 2 kits of this Fire Dragon. Finally,my prayers is being answered.

But don't know if the prices on eBay will drop due to the re release
Another strange release from Tamiya, makes no sense whatsoever to do this AGAIN! And not do the Thunder Dragon 🤔🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
Fingers crossed we wee the Thunder Dragon and Thunder Shot in 2021.

Got your wish

Tamiya: how about No!!
Tamiya: I need a Dyna Storm

VQS build will be on the show as soon as it arrives
Looks great, I'd love to see you build and run it.
Well you are going to get to see it! 👍🏻 I have one on order.
where can i pre order these?
Hi!! Hell yeah im gonna get one!!! Also hoping for a boomerang soon!
Always loved the FD, will be getting one for sure
Unfortunately it’s looking like Feb 2021 release now and not for Xmas 2020.
Great new! Love these new flashes! 😄😉 I think i'll buy that for a nickel!
Do you know if the Fire Dragon will come with a pre-painted shell like the recent Super Dragon ? Also do you think Tamiya will bring back the Saint Dragon ?
Yup, can’t wait to get one and a few spare for my original.
I was told Dec but I think that could have been Hong Kong release time. I hear it’s early 2021 for EU but I have nothing solid yet on delivery date and prices.
Shame it's not the Boomerang. 😕.
Which was the first 4wd car I ever owned and built.
I much preferred the Boomerang shape.
Lovely looking car.
Great news flash too. ;)

The Dragon will not have the adjustable arms as well as a few other parts. The 2020 TS is the top of the line car in the family.
How much?
No info yes on prices. I would guess the same as the TS that came out this year.
Old school rc know what it is lol yeah can see one of those in rc garage
Wish they would rerelease the super Sabre!

It is a shame it’s not the Thunder Dragon and I think Tamiya missed a trick not bringing that out.
It’s an interesting one! Thinking about getting something for xmas, are there any non-tamiya/Kyosho/Schumacher vintage style kits out there?
Fantom, Turbo Optima would be my fav two rere kits. Javelin is also an amazing car
They should re-release the Madcap. I might then be able to find a new damn body for it 🙄
That and a set of front tyres lol. I was lucky enough to find a body set and new tyres but it did take a while.
........ depends on the price. Bet the RRP will be £200+ due to demand now........
It will be interesting to see if Tamiya put the price up over the RRP for the TS that came out earlier this year.

I wonder why the thunder dragon has not ever been rereleased. It is the only thundershot family member that is to date not be be reissued
No clue at all why not. You would think by now Tamiya would have rereleased it going on all the other cars in this family.
I have a fire 🔥 dragon 🐉 it needs a god clean 🧼
Think I might get one 🤪
Great news that Tamiya are still re issuing the Thunder shot chassis, i have to say though I'm not a fan of those gold coloured wheels on a TERRA SCORCHER 👎😁
I love a bit of bling lol

I'd guess they don't have the tooling anymore and would probably cost a fortune to make (and buy...). Easier to keep rereleasing re-re's
this car is too corny, ill definitely pass.
