Hi Steve, the Fire Dragon definitely is a ‘beauty’ for sure. That fiery red, looks beautiful indeed, and really suits it. Great tip with the shocks, I shall give that a go on my next project. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😉😊😉
Looks great! 😎 I'm a big fan of the chassis - I had a Terra Scorcher as a kid and just recently finished building a Thunder Dragon build myself. Love the way the Fire Dragon looks. 👍 I just wish the lower suspension arms were a little stronger. It seems every time I run them I break one of them! 😅
The Dragons are technical very interesting. At the time they were released, Tamiya tmade these for the hobbyist who wanted a very good and durable buggy without long construction time or many adjustments later in the running. Just screw and go. Okay these bodies have to be liked, but the chassis are very good. Thanks for showing Steve.
Awesome video Steve. I kinda hestitated to get one but when I got it all done and driving it was awesome. I painted mine white underside and then red again. It makes the body look awesome. These buggies are excellent and handle great. I think they are great for even todays standards. I can't wait to get the Thunder Shot now.
Thank you, That's a great Idea as the tamiya paint job I noticed chips easy also. They are great runners it runs much better than my super hot shot... Stay tuned you don't want to miss my crazy first run video!
I looked it up just in case.. It really came out.. My childhood memories... It's still in my warehouse... I think it's been 30 years... I want to revive it...
Good Shock filling tip!! 👌 I've got a Fire Dragon, sitting, waiting for the opportunity to build it. Ya know, I didn't like it at first... But the Body grew on me! It's a Thundershot underneath. LOVE the easy side loading Battery, DON'T like the pre-painted Body. 😖 I wish they came pre-cut but not painted.... Mine's getting a 13T Motor, ill definitely need a Steel Pinion!! Looks good Steve. Really interested in seeing how she runs, and takes a beating!
Very cool man. Is it me or does this one look a lot like the Super HotShot. Had one as a kid a few years ago. Looks like a good rig bud. Oils and stuff are always a gut feel. In my opinion. lol I would trust your recommendation when it comes to that. lol You have build enough of them. Thanks for sharing brother.
Hi they evolution of the 4wd chassis from the super hotshot, This is much better it runs a lot better than my super hot shot buggy for sure. Thanks very much for watching.
Like Steve said, evolution! 😊 It's actually the Thundershot Chassis. Mark Bryan has two, and STRONGLY recommends reinforcing the Front Suspension. He's got a Video explaining it pretty clearly. But yeah, Steve has run a LOT of Tamiya Buggies!! His tuning advice is worth listening to. 👍👍
@@RcNickster709 Everybody needs a Tamiya Buggy! 2WD AND 4WD!! They may not win Trophies, but they're sure fun, and loaded with character 😉 (Just shy away from the TT-02B. BARELY any ground clearance and limited Suspension travel. Cheap though.)
Hi out of the box I like the fire dragon the suspension and shocks are better for this chassis with my TS I had to use shorter springs because stock it came with super long springs that made it so stiff it just hopped all around. Hope this helps.
tamiya is more the old school rc, but the problem this type of buggy from tamiya are not to popular, to many persons want the for use with brushless, that the real problem, this type of kit are not brushless ready, are more brushed, because of the gearing, i'm temping but the gears don't convince me at all, but still tamiya have a big community still in love of this kit and still growing

Nice build and information brother
Much appreciated😁👍
Nice I got the Saint Dragon kit to build soon
Cool I really liked the way this chassis ran, just put lighter wt shock oil in the shocks like 10Wt. Thanks for watching.
Great Video! If you had to chose: this Fire Dragon or the Thundershot?

Great looking buggy but the back looks incomplete like it needs a wing or something, other than that I really like it 👍🏻🍻
I guess you can ad one if you wanted to, I like it and it runs great. Thank you
@@ShenRC Don’t get me wrong, I like the car and the way it handles. They do a great job for brushed kits.

i like this a lot it drives nice I just put a 16T pinion gear in it so it should run pretty nice now because it felt good stock. Thanks for watching.
I want it
Thanks man!
