    Interesting. I found this after making something very similar myself. You can use plastic sewing machine bobbins as coil formers (which helps the coil be slightly more efficient). The cost less than PkR12 each if you buy 20 (about $2.00USD for 20). You could also use the metal ones but they cost way more.

    yeah nice. it may be single phase but how can we convert it in three phage ..or the how will be the three phase winding?? and if i replace those hard disk magnet(combine N&S) in single magnet(having only one N/S side) ....... such way like this .....north pole magnet then south pole like,,,,,,,,,, N S N S N then its work??

    Sir, No doubt, this project is very interesting, but i am unable to understand technically that how AC is generated from this?, because the direction of magnetic filed generated by the diametrically magnetized by magnets is horizontal and the direction of angular velocity is also horizontal. and the direction of areas of the coils from which magnets are moving is perpendicular. so flux will be zero......

    hi i tryd to do that for my stirling engine .. i have smaller harddisk magnets and useing 0.10mm wire.. i have problem when 12 coils then 0voltage but when 6 coils 1voltage .. can u help me ? direction every coil is clockwise and wire turns 150... i dont understand what is the problem..

    I build generator like yours.I used 6 magents and 6 coils.but it produced only 0.2 to 0.4 volts in each coil.can u tell me why my generator produced less voltages?

      first check your one coil volts then connect with other and check it again if voltage will dicreases so you have to invert connection of coil and repeat this to all coils

    There was a big mistake in this project but I hope you will realise that the coil installed on the wooden plate was 11 but the magnetic poles was 6*2=12
    That was a major mistake in this project.
    The wire was much thick for this project, thin wire even can't bear much load but it can produce better voltage.
    I am sorry if I hurt your emotions but it's not hate it's a positive criticism.

    What is the relationship between the number of windings on a coil and the output voltage?

      Directly proportional if everything else remains unchanged. Twice as many windings gives you twice as many volts. However practically Twice as many means some are further from the magnets and therefore subject to a weaker field and therefore not generating quite as much voltage as the closer ones. Stronger magnets give you more voltage. Rotating faster gives you more voltage.
      Basically you can sort of think of it like this - if you take a straight piece of wire, and move it through (perpendicular ideally) a magnetic field then a voltage will be generated. If you then think of the magnetic field as a series of magnetic flux lines, the more flux lines the wire moves through in a given time, the higher the voltage. You can increase the number of flux lines moved through by moving the wire faster, having a stronger magnet (which generates more flux lines), having the wire closer to the magnet (the densest part of the field), or having more pieces of wire and adding them together (which is what multiple turns on a coil does). It is possible to calculate the voltage generated if all the variables are known, but, the maths is horrible. I'm an electronic engineer and I still hate doing that sort of maths after 30+ years practice.
      In reality it is far easier to develop a simple reverse engineering mathematical model. IE make the thing. put a few windings on a coil and measure how much the voltage changes with number of turns and speed etc. You will then be able to predict for that type of magnet and clearance what voltage you will get per turn per 100 RPM. This method is by far easier than doing it the other way round and will not turn your brain into porridge.
      If you are making a demonstration only unit, I would recommend using plastic sewing machine bobbins (singer type) as coil formers. They cost not a lot and make it look much better and you can get far more consistent coils.

      Is the same phenomenal of let a magnet fall into a metal pipe. It slows down the magnet due to current induced in the pipe by the magnets moving, when you short circuit or connect a device thats consume a high current such a bulb in the coils, you simulate a pipe to the magnets and its slows down the motor that is rotating the disk, which also consumes more to continue rotating,. Like a transformer when is consuming higher current in secondary, it will also consumes proportionaly higher current in the primary.

      aray Bhai aap ko confirm ni hay koi bhe air wind motor high speed ni hote agar rpm barhana ho tou aap daykh saktay hain air wind ke inside pice there is one small warm gear Jo k es ko rpm ko zeyada kar dayta hay Bhai
