Wonderful memories. I love that. Sweet memories. Oh my goodness all those people in the house and one bathroom. It was like the time to eat at our house too. Course I’m old too. 75. But that was a requirement at our house too to have evening meal with the family. If we had any plans it had to wait till later.
I could listen to his stories all day, he gets this far away look in his eyes when he's telling them you definitely know he's going back in time....my daddy does the same thing when he tells me stories of his youth.....nothing like memories.

Loved it Spa Guy. Love the interesting stories he told about Dad, Roy, Johnny, and Roger Miller. Hearing all young and starting out too. Thank u Spa Guy!!! I truly appreciate all yr time and efforts doing all these wonderful video’s for yrs. God Bless U
Great video Spa Guy ❤ Roy was a legend with an unique voice, accordingly Elvis never sang a song of Roy because Elvis thought he could not sing it better.
TERESA HARRIS Maybe The Spa Guy n Stan could go "halfers" n approach that ol lady living there for a deal Then make a sort of museum only without the drama of the karate Domo building Lol !
You are the super sleuth Mr. Spa Guy on Rock N Roll history... Elvis history too. Enjoy these interviews with Mr. Stan Perkins. Seams like a really nice guy. Looking forward to hearing more from Mr. Stan Perkins sometime. I remember my parents listening to his father's music... Johnny Cash and so forth. They weren't into Roy Orbison or Jerry Lee Lewis...Rock N Roll, lol ! Be sure and tell him thank you. Safe travels. God bless you and yours.
great story teller....i really like this guy...so down to earth.... humble and straight forward honest like his father....rip carl....great interview...keep em coming!
What a great guy Stan is; just like his dad and Elvis; even considering their greatness still humble and grounded people. Great folks. Thank you for sharing this great interview.
Billy, I love every time you interview Stan. The way he tells the stories and comes off as the nicest guy in the world just adds more to it. And he looks and sounds so much like his dad its wild. If he had the same hairstyle they'd almost look like twins. Anyway I hope you guys are able to come back to this house and get inside while it's still possible. Would love to see it and hear more of Stans memories from inside there. Thanks for what you do as always and cant wait for the next one!
Spa Guy, it is wonderful to hear country music history first hand, and from Carl Perkins' son. He is right, "Oh, Pretty Woman," by Roy Orbison, is timeless. I can play the recording over and over. The only other artist, I loved singing the song (recorded it too), other than Roy Orbison, was Ricky Van Shelton at a Farm Aid, think in 1990. He sang it with such ease. I love hearing the country music history. ❤From A Nashville Girl❤ (MUSIC CITY USA PROUD!)
"Blue Suede Shoes," by Carl Perkins is high up on the list too. His son's voice talking sounds like his. Oh, the greats in country music that have passed on, but the music they left.
Carl Perkins is a great entertainer in the king of rockabilly And where is that today in heaven he still a rockabilly king he should have got more acknowledgements of his talent
Very great details from Stan on his father Carl,,,along with many other Sun Studio, and Nashville performers. Man that would cool saying you heard 'Pretty Woman' for the first time on the little ol mylar tape whatever size it was back then. That is probably in my eyes one of the most listened to Rock & Roll songs international. Wonder how many movies 'Pretty Woman',,has been featured in... A lot! Always try and picture what would have been like traveling for this performers in their heyday. Keep in mind NO gas stations opened on Sundays. Your only chance would have been a truck stop in 200 miles of traveling if that.200 miles is a heck of long way,,,,doing all two lanes. Nice history SG. Thanks again
BARRY CISNA Yeah Barry a car even back then should b able to travel 200 miles on a full tank! Thought it was so funny when Stan says Roy's wife was lazy ! You never know with ppl maybe she felt like she wasn't just a "pretty woman" but she was also Queen Elizabeth" ! Lol! I was raised to "pitch in " whenever you overnite at someone's house so u don't wear out your welcome mat !.
Thank You Spa Guy. It is very interesting listening to Sten Perkins’s memories of his childhood experience with some of the best Country Singers. Amazing Memorie Sten Has! Listening to his stories is like listening to the walls of the house talk ! Thank You again for sharing with us Fans. Arrivederci!

Loved the story behind pretty woman. If Stan has wrote a book I’d really love to read it. He’s got a lot of stories that would make good reading. Thank you Spa Guy for sharing with us. 😎
Really Fantastic job - AGAIN - Billy. You always have the best interviews with the coolest people. You've captured so many pieces of so many puzzles with this excellent history presentation. This is such a fascinating interview. Really like Stan and his enthusiasm. I don't know when people stopped eating dinner around the table as a family unit, but I was born in 1971 and, as long as I lived at my parents, we ate around the table. If there was something special on TV, you'd roll the TV in and place it in the corner - whether you were in the kitchen or the dining room. Anyway - this was Really, really cool. Thanx for showing us this vid. It brings back a lot of my own family memories as well. Take care.
Wow! That was awesome Billy! First time seeing anything of Stan Perkins. I will be hunting for more of Stan. He was one if not the best history teller I ever heard you had. He’s making his daddy proud for sure sharing so much for us Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Roger Miller, ect. fans. I love his personality when talking, makes you feel he’s talking to you. Hope we see and hear a lot more of Stan Perkins!
There are still plenty of us in the UK who remember Billy Lee Riley..Always amazes me, that the USA has a rich history in music, but so many of them have no idea about it. Even Blues music only got recognised when the likes of the Stones went there and were performing it.
Thank you Spa Guy!. Wasn't it Johnny Cash who gave the idea for Blue Suede Shoes? as Carl Perkins tells on the jubileum show. The first 25 years: Johnny Cash. A great storyteller Stan Perkins! By the way Rock and Roll Ruby was written by Johnny Cash. Johnny Cash sang this song on a live show April 19th 1981 in Rotterdam Ahoy. Before that song there was a Jammin Party with Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.I was 19 years old then and I almost stood at the front row of that show. You can find this show on You Tube (only sound). A friend of mine has the original video tape!

I met Stan & Greg in NYC back in the 1980's . They were backing Carl @ The Mudd Club NYC . That night someone broke into the bus and stole Carl's blue suede shoes. Carl was kinda pissed.
Spa Guy been a huge fan of yours for years! Love your historical work and efforts to make sure you get it right. Did you ever follow up on the story of Claudette's motorcycle crash? You mention it here and I don't seem to be able to find it. Very interested to hear it. Thanks again and keep up the great work.
Hi Spa Guy, Wow I could listen to Stan Perkins all day with the stories he tells us. What an amazing story about Roy Orbison being mixed up with Warren Smith and how fate intervenes and changes history forever. Roy Orbison was unique and had an amazing voice. Also amazing that the house is still there the owner should get an historical marker placed on it. I wanted to ask you something which I got thinking about whilst watching this video, if you could afford to purchase a house that belonged to someone famous lets say a singer, or an actor, would you be able to decorate it to your taste or would you leave everything the way it is?
If I could get an original home I would want it to look exactly like it did when they were there.. Stan by the way told me he is seeking to buy that house back and put a marker there..
@@SpaGuy Hi Spa Guy, Thank you for answering my question lets hope that Stan Perkins is successful in buying back that house, there is a whole load of history attached to it and deserves that marker.
