As someone who never got to experience this great attraction, I want to thank you for providing the closest thing I'll ever get to experiencing it in it's original form. So thank you for this wonderful video.
You're very welcome! I created this video for the same reason. I can't go back in time to experience this wonderful attraction, but if I make a video edit of it, well, that'd be about as close as I could get.
Such a unique attraction. My favorite part was actually the upstairs portion. I can see why Walt Disney spent his last years trying to create something like that for real. It isn't very practical, but what an amazing idea that spawns so many more ideas!
I was there and lived it back in the day. This was one of the most feel good about life, feel good about yourself, and feel good about the future there was for a young, wide eyed kid in California. This recreation is the closest and best I can find of that memory. Such good vibes and optimism about what the future held for all of us. How sad the reality is of what came to be.
I saw this version I saw when I went to Disneyland for grad night in 1968. All of the subsequent versions have gone downhill. To this day it is still my favorite along with Calif Soar'in
I loved it when the Peoplemover would go through this show building and you could see Progress City and I also remember looking down into the gift shop or that may have been another show building..
Last seen by me in 1973 in Disneyland, & looking forward to my first WDW trip in 2022. My grandma took me to Disneyland every year when I was a kid, and this was def one of her favorite attractions. (The cringey mother stuff was just real felt stuff to her then. That’s history folks.) Almost 50 years later I’d love to see it again in memory of my lovely grandma. Ahhh, nostalgia. But oh it’s not the same at this point, so thx for the vlog, it’s super great to experience the almost past vicariously.
I grew up in a catholic orphanage in Italy and 2 nuns used to tell me stories all the time about how they saw Walt disneys technological robot men in the carousel of progress. They saw the carousel in the 60s sponsored by General Electric. They saw the iteration at Disney world later on and it was their favourite ride. Today it’s mine. Every single time I go to Disney which is about 3-5 a year I go on at least twice. My dream was always to do animatronic maintenance on that ride or be there for an update but when I interned for Disney I unfortunately never had that opportunity. Such a brilliant ride that really shows the love Walt Disney had for innovation, technology, and entertainment.
I saw some pictures of disneyland from the 60s, and that made me think of the carousel of progress. i still remember going on that ride in the late 1960s, more than 50 years ago with my parents, who have now passed. I loved disneyland, it seemed to glow with wonder, promise, optimism and a better future. Thank you so much for putting this video together. what an amazing look back into my childhood. and thank you to my parents for taking me there.

I was 6 yrs old in 1973. I have a very hazy, vague memory of this great attraction. But since it's Disney quality, it made a lasting impression in my mind. This wonderful production helps fill in the gaps and brings back that warm, magical feeling! Thank you!
@9:29, it's most likely that "Loulie Jean Norman" sang the background vocalizing in the transition song. She's well known for also being the lady opera singer (wings on helmet) in the Haunted Mansion, and the vocalizer in the intro music for the original 1966 Star Trek series.
I saw this at Disneyland. More than that, one of the many records we got was a 45rpm record of this song. There were four versions, done in the music styles of the 1900s, 1920s, 1940s, and 1960s. Also the Disneyland Band doing an instrumental march version.
This is amazing! I was there in the summer of 1967 as an 11 year old...discovering the all new Tomorrowland! We were just amazed!! And by the way...@3:36 the "outside" background painting was made by Herb Ryman!
