You guys!!! As a local born and raised, those are all great places (for the most part)... HOWEVER you didn't mention any of the MOST famous places. Arnaud's, Galatoires and Antoine's are the MOST delicious and historic places you may ever have in your life. Oh and Commander's Palace too... But do keep in mind that all of these places are fairly upscale and fancy. Really great places for a nice date. anniversary, etc... But do dress appropriately (Jacket required for some of them, esp for dinner) ... Might be tough to try all of them while on vacation if you need to watch your budget. But I highly recommend going to at least one or two of them. And then enjoy a cocktail at many of the famous bars around town BESIDES the regular bourbon party crowd. Yes, a "hand grenade" and a Hurricane are certainly both a must have when on Bourbon (stick to one each tops - or risk being hungover AF) But before you're in crazy party mode, you need to try something a bit classier like a Sazerac from the Sazerac bar if you like whiskey or a French 75 if you like champagne with a twist. Not to mention several other great options at the classy bars downtown... Just ask a seasoned local or your server when you're done dining at one of the restaurants mentioned above... But dont get me wrong, Dagos, Acme , Felix Oyster house, etc. Are all great too, esp for lunch when less busy... And when you do go to Cafe du Monde (and DO GO) try going after you night out on Bourbon and are good and wasted around 4am... Not only will it be DELICIOUS bc you're drunk n hungry, but it wont be so crowded... BW 3am to 10am is bet time to go bc there is no waitlist ,first come first serve seat yourself... Si if you show up at 2 in the afternoon on a pretty Sunday you'll be fighting for a table

Writing that book, huh? Been to all you mentioned, locals do not eat at any of these dives. Nothing tops a good workout at Rocky's (Rocky and Carlos) in Chalmette. Top it off with desert at the hump at the dump!!!!!

Amazing video, it was really well made and I feel like it captured the culture and food of this city well. My only real concern was that I feel like poboys weren't covered enough. If you or anyone else vacations to New Orleans again or for the first time, stop by Parkway Tavern, they undoubtedly have the best poboys in the city. It's located around Bayou St. John right next to mid city.

Agree on both. ACME way overrated. You can walk right across the street and Felix's is as good or better and no long lines like ACME. Drago's charbroiled oysters are THE BEST!

Everything within 2 blocks of bourbon st, canal st, or the convention center is a tourist trap. Casamento's, Jaques-IMO's, High Hat Cafe, Brigtsen's and Parkway Tavern are my top 5.

As far as I can tell there's only 3 must eats in New Orleans. Everyone seems to have the same sort of stuff so after the 3 I'm not too worried about it. Dat Dog.. yes a hotdog joint. Doubt I will ever get a crawfish ettouffe hotdog anywhere else. Cafe Dumonde .. Beneigts are a must on my list. Then a Hurricane at Pat O'Briens. Otherwise, my nose & stomach can guide me. Have fun. I know I will.

Not even close to the best places to eat in NO. She showed where the Tourist go eat when they come to town. None of these spots are where we locals eat because we know better. If you really want to taste the best, go and ask someone from New Orleans while you are there. Ask them "Where do you eat when you go out for good food"? I guarantee we will never mention non of these spots. These are truly tourist location.

French Lady as a local, I know that's what it means but nobody down here, certain people I'm going to say, reject that phrase and I'm one of them the locals wish that never was adopted, but hey what do I know right?....just like Nawlins.... who the hell says that nobody in New Orleans hates to say Nawlins

Kyle Callahan, well, if it sticks in your craw, that's fine. I don't think it warrants negativity or irritation. It's no big deal. To NOLA I will go! 😁
