I think a lot of people leave sometimes because they feel like they don’t matter, they don’t feel appreciated and they want to matter. Some of these people just need to look around and see the value they’re bringing . Whether we know it or not we’re all exactly where we’re supposed to be . I definitely feel appreciated by people, such as yourself who always comment on my videos. Thanks man!

Or the ones who say they are done collecting games then buy them all over again. I remember i once mentioned this to a UA-camr and I got my comment removed for being real lol
I made my video once, I was in a really awful place mentally. I honestly wasn’t even sure if I was still gonna be around in the next few months. So it was my way of saying goodbye. Fortunately it didn’t pan out like that, things are on the upswing and I started a new channel, switched this to livestreams, and do TikTok also, which I’m pretty happy with things over there. I won’t fault anyone for making such a video, but it isn’t something that can be taken back, it does change things with the audience.
I’m sorry you had to go through that. I definitely understand having mental health issues( that’s a whole video for another day). Starting a new channel is definitely the way to go after a video like that. Nothing wrong with new beginnings and a new direction.
We talked about this and you know I couldn’t agree more! When I switched my channel from regular videos to speedrunning, I didn’t announce it, because who knows maybe one day I’ll feel like doing videos again. Also, I don’t think I’m the center of the universe and I’d need to announce anything like I’m a big shot that people care about that much. And when you thought about leaving UA-cam you also told me but didn’t announce it.
Yeah, going from regular videos to speed runs is a change, but it’s not such a radical shift like you didn’t start talking about basket weaving you at least kept it about gaming. But you’d also made speed runs on your channel before so there really wasn’t much need to make too big of a deal about it. You’re not the center of the universe? I’m shocked 😏! Yeah, I’m pretty sure I think about quitting UA-cam at least once a year. Everybody has a bad day or a bad week. I’m glad I never went to such extremes though, and stayed levelheaded about it. Sometimes we just need to take a break.
MVG Modern Vintage Gamer posted a "I'm done..." video two years ago with a solemn thumbnail expression. Turned out he was a bit worn out but not much much was changing - or something like that. The comments were a flood of support, with only a few pointing out the clickbait I'm sure MVG knew it was. Not cool. Those 400,000 views made him some easy money.
I vaguely remember that. it seemed like a slew of people at the time were doing that. I'm sure it was some easy money for them . Sure I make some videos that really stratal the line between "catchy title" and " click bait" , but damn I never want to worry my audience like that. Life is stressful enough as it is.
I would never make a goodbye video. Unless if you are someone like Tom Scott or MatPat who have a huge audience, it may be better if you did not make a big goodbye or a fake goodbye.
I love your takes, but do (you probably) you know who loves your takes, or even just you, even more? Your actual friends and families. Fake clout doesn't mean much, and that's what those UA-camrs chase when they do such Goodbye Videos. So anyhow, stay awesome in this universe!

If you wanted to post something just for attention, just say that it is your birthday. If you say it is your birthday, people will notice it and leave comments and likes which drives up engagement with all of the birthday wishes. It does not even have to be your birthday.

It gets eyes on the screen. I just avoid videos about I'm quitting or it's over. A lot are bait and switch.
