Players will experience the Apocalypse simulation in the form of virus pandemic. You will have to deal with it to survive through the difficulties such as finding shelter and food, threats from the environment, climate and not to mention wild animals! - Ігри

Think about this for the Bears: You are surviving for the long term. Killing the mother means the cubs die which means less bears next season. You are preserving your long term food source.

I was thinking the same thing. Allowing them to live helps perpetuate the cycle. However, if they saw you and Leo you know they wouldn't care and would go straight for the throat. 😅

Hey! Texas Native here! That deer is definitely an Axis Deer. They’re native to Southeast Asia but brought to exotic ranchs some got out. Now they’re invasive free roaming species in central Texas. We use the word “Invasive” lightly. Everyone prefers them over native Whitetail, the meat is better, they’re beautiful, and there’s no special season to hunt them.
I took an axis in Texas on a hog hunt. Absolutely beautiful animals.

@@jacquesofalltrades1643 honestly not really. We weren't allowed to shoot whitetails and the one axis doe I shot cost me $350 extra on top of the hunt.

Watched 3 of your videos last night and I wake up this morning with my town covered in mist, I must prepare..
Amazing series, I absolutely love watching them! You make them completely immersive.
Day 1 I went into the town with the Church to loot and was walking from one building to the next when I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. It was a bandit walking through town and I had to stifle a scream. I had no idea they walked around and they were so close to catching me without the resources to fight back. Once I relaxed all I could think of was how cool that is for gameplay!! Now my head is on a swivel constantly - nowhere is safe; no time of day is safe. This game just keeps getting better :)

I like how you don’t kill cubs or baby animals i understand that it’s more of a moral problem for you but what you are doing is actually keeping the population high instead of quickly diminishing it in a long term survival situation you would be very weary on how many animals you take what you’ve killed and how it will affect your animals population.
Depends really. If the human population truly got decimated the animals would actually thrive. Deer, crows, wild boars. Even bears and wolves. I doubt anyone could grow a crop outdoors anywhere across the planet that wouldn't have some kind of animals destroying it. They would probably be less fearful of humans, too. Hunting would probably be easier than ever but finding fresh greens, fruits, vegetables, probably would be impossible.
For real and do you think for one second anyone else will be thinking about the animal population. No, they will be collecting meat to the detriment of future food sources. That's what people do.
@@darkerdaemon7794 I was more talking about this series as the infected are now also contributing to animal population but I 100% agree with you if it was a true survival situation with even 10% of the current population animals would thrive like we have never seen.
@@darkerdaemon7794 fresh veggies is actually easy to find if you know what's edible fruit in some countries would be difficult good news is apple trees are pretty reliable in terms of fruit in terms of animals places like england would have to heavily hunt animals as theirs a massive lack of predator's on the negative hunting and keeping them as fresh meat would be wasteful salt is easy to obtain by the ocean but most reliable way to preserve meat is by smoking which is rather easy
@@irongrid4682 I meant in a world where humans pop decrease, animals would thrive and make the veggies and fruits harder to come by. Seriously, I don't think you understand just how much of a menace some animals can be to crops. That's already with them being hunted and controlled by us. With free range to roam, farming for yourself would be incredibly hard for anything short of a secured greenhouse.
@17:52 you can see above her name there is a backpack and clothing option and it was on the backpack so it was inventory, see if you can see if you can put it in her clothing slots
Every time a watch or see your videos i remember my great grandma...i used to watch your old mist episodes when i was in the hospital with her. You will forever be one of my fav. Content creator ever! Looking forward for more of mist episodes and others as well in the future!

I like that youre having a war over the morality of a mother bear with cubs. In the end if you're playing "strategically," as what you'd do in real life, you wouldn't want to kill the mother bear, because she's teaching the cub how to survive. That gives you more food later on. Just to put it that way.

also same here on the a and b conversation you talked about and i think you should keep doing that cause it shows your humanity by showing mercy and not killing a mother bear and her cubs which means your a good man but it does mean you'll have to move on and look for something else to hunt and kill so you can survive never change

You can get a lot of scrap, component, bricks, cement (for tuning garage later too) at the construction site in SW. Circle around fence, there is open entrance.

If you want to hunt with out hunting maybe try the more passive way of hunting, if i recall correctly isnt there small game traps in the game maybe give em a whirl and see if it could help with the food issue.

@@thefoosterchannel i mean its worth a shot, least if this version doesnt have it then you know, if not then you have food. Depending on the trap design maybe the chickens could be considered " small game" in the game idk thought to mention.

One other thing Fooster, I'm with you on seeing mama bear and her cubs. Yea, it's a survival thing and you gotta do what gotta do but here's how I see it:
A human being can survive about a month without food and about a week without water. Keeping this mind mama bear is just raising her cubs and ensuring a future food supply because those cubs will grow and have cubs of their own. One rule of survival is to only kill what you need because in the apocalypse meat will go rotten real quick. There are other animals, there are plants and fish, if you really need to there's bugs too. You got a few options is what I'm saying, no need to take out mama bear if you don't absolutely need to.
Fooster I binged watched this in a day and all caught and absolutely smashing it man I love this series I'm not bored and want more and fell in love with your content since COTW

Maybe the barrel of the hunting rifle was getting too hot after all those shots at the bandits and that caused the inaccuracy of the later tries.

whitetail deer only have spots for about 8 months of their life at birth. That is definitely not a whitetail deer.
Yeah, it's an Axis deer. They are a reddish color with white spots and usually have three points on each side.
Great episode Fooster. I've been living off pork and chickens for now, looking forward to some Venison though 🙂. You should consider moving into the lookout base where you took down the deer. Easy to fortify, plus food and water. Keep up the great work!
Also, FYI the flickering in the scope is the weapon sway when your character is holding it. Love the content, Fooster.
Look out for Leo's thirst level as well! No idea how much of an impact it does have but I'm sure it's crucial in this game as well :))🙏

Whitetail bucks usually have a grayish coat. Does are brown. Fons/baby deer have the spotted coat most the time. Been deer hunting my whole life and love it 😊❤

I see this too in another camp where if you load up in/near their camp they make a beeline walking out of their camp. If you're quick enough, you can move up to em at a sprint and knife them one by one while they are walking in a file before they notice you.
