An evolution of the early SE-50 more oriented towards the guitar, it presents update converters, an analog distortion circuit, analog pitch detection circuits and a "better" interface (for the time)

The 70 has some more exotic effects, a more advanced vocoder and a better UI but I've always preferred the sound of the 50.
I'm the same. But the analog distortions in the 70 are really cool on a lot of things...
Also more advanced pitch shifter with a lot of voices!
ya the 70 isn't grabbing me the way the 50 does...it's good but sounds a bit staler/flatter, lacks the depth and color
I assume these are all the factory presets? Mine came with almost none of these! I got some really great ones though, whoever had it before must've gone deep and taken the effort to program so many cool combinations.
Actually sorry I forgot. On the manual says that when you reset you can select the "guitar" presets or the "generic" preset. By default i think it comes with the guitar ones. I used the "generic" as they are most similar to the se50 presets and also because I'm using mostly those. Btw I can make a part 3 with the guitar preset if there's interests
Great video, I’ve got the SE-50 and used it way back in the 90’s and loved it. Hoping to set mine up to replicate David Gilmore’s tone.

Hey , i had patches from scott summers ar roland, back in 94. All was great but a few years went by and the batteries went dead (i had no idea there were batteries) now my cherished patches are gone i dont know if theres any hope , before i do a reset , which surely will wipe the memory, i see garbled symbols on thw top line the bottom is ok . Any ideas 💡?
Do they both have great reverb? I could care less about distortion or overdrive from a multi effects unit like this, reverb and delay is all I care about but mostly reverb.
They have great boss style reverb especially the 70. But for reverb lexicon boxes are my favourites (I have the pcm70, pcm81, and lxp-1)
How does it sound through the headphone jack?

Not really probably this video doesn't make the 50 justice i really love a couple of patches
you have use the user programs....you have to use the factory progs .....
??? I have reset both the units so they are the stock patches
The SE-50 is a lot cheaper... for a reason I think. The SE-70 has a great sound!
I think the 50 is a lot undervalued the sound is actually more "vintage" and is more difficult to reproduce with plugins. Also the pitch shifter is really cool for enhancing things.
Back in the day when I brought my SE-50, it cost me $995 Australian.
