It's funny how youtube made a whole video about fair use back in the day to explain to creators how to use it... but now UA-cam itself doesn't know how it works.
The only real defense for what XQC is doing: XQC claims he gets content ID'd on a considerable portion of his reaction videos. Lemmino made half a million views worth of ad revenue if Lemmino content ID'd him (which I think UA-cam gives creators an internal ability to do this if I recall) Lemmino however said he never gave XQC permission, and, if someone can be completely demonetized for a 7 second video where the revenue already was going to the copyright holder, XQC technically shouldn't even be able to monetize his entire channel under the same pretense that a 7 second clip is enough to remove someone completely from being monetized.
demonetizing others for calling you out for actual reasons instead of dealing with NSFW ads, youtube? what the hell is wrong with this platform nowadays
And this is why youtube/google should be sued for the fact it's effecting freedom of speech n will here when free speech is in the rules of UA-cam while the platform is breaking its own TOS
90% of YT's policy decisions are done by bots, I swear even the supposed "human reviews" are just people blindly repeating what the bot said, assuming they ever even touch the thing the ONLY thing that gets this to change is if someone gets enough traction on Twitter going to actually get an executive's attention and get them to want to stop any potential PR damage
If a McDonalds COMPLETELY switched to robots, there will always be jobs for the people who handle/troubleshoot the robots handing out and cooking the burgers. Same thing with moderating a social media platform. Problem is, unlike a McDonalds where you can ask for a manager and someone will show up in 1-10 minutes, you have to either know certain people, get lucky, or go somewhere else to get ahold of them.
The original reused content policy was meant to stop people from taking creative commons clips and making 1000s of reuploads of them. However, some people are being hit with false positives and this video is a warning of that. Yes, reuploading a public domain TV show in it's ENTIRETY is fair use, but, UA-cam does not want content farms to reupload the same public domain TV show 1000 times to the platform, so that's why this policy existed in the first place.
The fact that there are UA-cam short channels that spam 1000 videos that are literally the exact same thing and they don't get demonitized. They at the very least could look at the video length for determining whether a video is reused or not

If you are a smaller youtuber, this affects you, if you are a larger youtuber, you'll already have access to someone who can quickly undo this. But yeah, it's clickbait.

There is a channel I watch named Fritanga that had this also happen to him. I'm starting to think someone who works at youtube is abusing this system or something to get at people they don't like and they're butthurt about something. Except with Fritanga, they removed his partnership for the same reason. "Reused" content.
As someone who has had multiple channels over the years and several videos that have hit over 100,000 views, I haven't seen a single cent from UA-cam. And at this rate, I don't think I ever will. They might actually start making us pay, and stricter interpretations of many film permit laws would mean that UA-camrs have to pay the city and give them a script weeks in advance of making a silly little ASMR video.
Before I started long-forms on this channel, this channel was technically making me money, a very little amount. If you have a business or a product to sell, and can master shorts, the shorts pay out very little ad revenue HOWEVER if you can actually get customers. There are artists who whine that they can put 20 hours of work into some art and someone else can film a video in 5 minutes and get millions of views. The short-form game is to either get sponsor deals or, if you're a restaurant/business, to pump out shorts, cross post them, and try to get exposure from them. If you want to know why I edit my long-forms like this, I am used to making shorts and watching people swipe away after 3 seconds. So everything you see in my long-forms are from my trial and error from short-form.
I can only expect that UA-cam's gonna make a complaint under this video that claims that this video lies about their company motives because the video title make it SOUND like they're wrongly accusing UA-cam for something when the context of the video is a completely different topic. And I swear, if this actually happens, *I will start a protest movement.*
The original title for the video was "UA-cam Demonetized My Channel" I shortened the title to this, because, they are NOT completely removing monetization. Your monetization is NOT in danger if you are a big creator. It will always be at jeopardy if you aren't with a network that has access to a human or if you aren't a massive creator with connections. The video title is clickbait, however, smaller creators need to be told: you NEED to keep receipts, and, yes, people have had THOUSANDS or even tens of thousands held from them as a result of the people who weren't able to successfully appeal. There were even more recent complaints of this happening in the last month, when I did research for this video. This video is a good warning to people who want to make UA-cam their living. LinusTechTips will always have a human on standby because of who they are, but, the people in the Reddit threads I've shown, do not have that same privilege.
I have seen so many of the responses ( screenshots ) you showed in your video youtube sent to other people on X from the youtube support team. Like the exact responses...
Okay. What the funk is going on? The last 2 months were insane when it comes to YT updates, I'm not even talking about the updates that were made the last 2 years. They should fire the YT manager workers, who think it's a good idea removing quality of life things. They should get a new managers. That is ridiculous.
From experience, talking to youtube on twitter is like having a conversation with a pre-recorded video. They'll always say the same thing and doesn't actually help with anything
its so stupid how UA-cam demonitizes someone for supposedly using "reused content" but like Manni show for example every single of their video is just a clip from someone else with no edits then lip-sings and slaps their face on the video and doesn't even leave credit. Or Green Screen Kids especially, I will say the people who do use audio and just lip sings to the clip has the supposed og video but its just someone else doing the same thing but leaving no credits at all and they got way more views and likes than the og video. yesterday however I saw the first ever channel (that I have seen) leave credit to the og clip, so that's progress.
You spoke too soon! The views are starting to ramp up. 900 views in this past hour. Was getting 100 views an hour for 5 hours when this was first uploaded
Yep, I was demonetized for "reused content" and they never even specified which videos violated this even after showing them the editing process. The thing is, I can guess which videos were the culprits, but knowing UA-cam, I would guess, delete a bunch of videos on my channel, and then still deny my monetization because I deleted the wrong videos. And greeeeeat. UA-cam can just... pocket money. Absurd. Like the hundred dollars I worked towards for months.
Had a false hit less than a month ago. Appealed and the hit was removed. I'm just assuming they were tweaking the algorithm. Working for youtube is like being employed by a paranoid android.
I am cycling through different titles, I have almost 100 thumbnails saved to cycle through. The original thumbnail was the red and magenta youtube icon I use every video, people like the red fading to yellow variant which I think is good.
i thought you meant youtube was removing monetization completely which i think would be a good thing to prevent people from making videos solely for profit but of course there is more bs going on
How do u get demonetized for heavily editing clips which is 'reused content' when Sniperwolf full on posts the whole clip [and more clips] barely reacting and earning from it???
This happened to me last monday. They said it was reused content and had no proof of it. When asking them they told me their weren’t allowed to tell me which video it was (even though they said it was my whole channel) because then they’d have partners trying to go around it in the future. How am I supposed to learn if they don’t tell me. It’s like talking to a brick wall that doesn’t even know it’s a break wall. Yes i tried making an appeal video but it wasn’t good enough for them. I get punished for something i didn’t do.
My channel randomly got some feature disabled for "violating community guidelines" despite the fact I really haven't uploaded in about 4 months. The only thing that I think might be the reason but those were about 3-4 years ago. Being affected now makes no sense. In my channel settings under Features, I can apply to get those features but I have to either send them my id or have a positive community for about 2 months. I've been quite busy so I really didn't get the chance to make videos. I think I'll make a bunch of videos and then apply for eligibility.
I feel like UA-cam needs to be hit with a class action lawsuit, because they are 100% robbing 'small creators' who aren't able to fight back. And it might not even be 'intentional' at that, they might be training their bots in such a way that the bots are given "Thumbs ups" whenever they are doing certain actions, so when it could be that demonetizing videos and making money from that is a "Approved behavior" and so it is constantly overextending the judgement calls on small creators.
Companies don’t really care about people unless they are making profit, instead of promoting healthy growth they rather take advantage of making profit over prioritizing protecting others from mis information, and other dangerous things, I not saying all companies are bad, but they can be “corrupt” especially when “corporate” the two words do sound similar yes? Any how that is what my observation from this is.
if you don't already do this, uncheck the ‘publish to subscriber feed and notify subscribers’ option in the ‘licence and distribution’ section when you upload a new video. If your channel has grown with Minecraft shorts, you have gained most of your followers with other content you are currently posting. the problem is that when you leave this checked you then notify ‘minecraft audiences’ who are (presumably) not interested in the new content, so they don't click on it and then the algorithm thinks the video is uninteresting and doesn't recommend it much anymore. has helped me a lot!
I have done this before I have even started making long-forms. All videos I publish don't notify subscribers. Only 2k-3k of the original subs here are actually from my shorts. Almost the full 30k is from my long-form which is ridiculously harder.
@@cubedimensions Ok perfect! I just wanted to help and share this information as I think most creators don't know this. I wish you all the best man! I know what it means being under the illusion of being free or self-employed but actually working for a private company that can make up its own rules at will, change them permanently and interpret them however it wants. it can be quite exhausting at times. the longer I do content the bigger my crisis of purpose becomes, thinking about whether I really want this....
@@HerrLoeblich We're already planning on putting our eggs in multiple baskets. Pixelgrew is not fully run by me (obviously) and we plan on releasing Roblox games, which, while they aren't a perfect platform, there are games making tens of thousands per month on that platform that require WAY less maintenance than a 1000 player Minecraft server, developers will still have to be hired, but, unlike the Minecraft community, there are almost no Folia/Multipaper developers allowing for infinite Minecraft scaling. Roblox already has tons of developers.
This is why I hope UA-cam is ripped away from Google along with chrome. They don’t deserve it at all, and all the corrupt staff should be replaced and it should be run by the content creators.
I got demonetized for the same reason but I feel it was justified, I did reuse other's content, but after I took down the videos and got monetized again my viewership dropped to basically nothing so as you can see I gave up on this channel

Make a separate channel for your heavily edited stuff. That's the only way. If you get to 10k subs, and get monetized you'll eventually be offered an actual human/manager that can get these decisions reversed for you. If you plan on making more heavily edited videos in the future, make a new channel and try to grow it. UA-cam Shorts are an easy way to get to the 1k subs.
@@cubedimensions Thanks for the response haha, well the other day I was thinking about that too, I guess my current one won't be that lucky to be remonetized again, I will take this as an alternative then, Thanks!
Same happened to me. I've had copyrighted content (mostly parodies like MLG), however I DIDN'T EARN FROM THEM. I've got monetized (while already having copyrighted content on my channel), uploaded copyrighted, as well as copyright free videos, I've only earned money from the videos that weren't marked as copyrighted in the UA-cam Studio. After reaching minimum amount of money to be able to withdraw, my channel got demonetized, for REUSED content, not COPYRIGHT infridgement. Also around that time my UA-cam stats started going downhill as well. I've had access to the special UA-cam chat as a partner at the time, and they couldn't give me any sort of list of the videos that were breaking the rules.

So everything you see in my long-forms are from my trial and error from short-form.
for me, I can't even subscribe to some channels as "this feature is not available for this video" like are they trying to remove subscriptions now?
what the f**k.
@@thatburntegg I didn't notice it .
I feel like they're making the repeal process unnecessarily restrictive and vague intentionally to make people less likely to repeal.
That is ridiculous.
new fear unlocked, demonetized due to using a meme from last video
UA-cam should really fix their platform bruh
@@Flunium Same.

Needless to say. UA-cam has been making Controversial Changes/Actions
UA-cam: don’t reuse content that you didn’t make or we will demonetize you
Everyone: what about the reaction channels
So hypocritical considering how they were with Sssniperwolf.
this is the video that NEEDS to get popular
You spoke too soon! The views are starting to ramp up. 900 views in this past hour. Was getting 100 views an hour for 5 hours when this was first uploaded
@@cubedimensions Congratulations 👏🏼🎉.
Well... just when I thought the break up of Google would get UA-cam to care, we have THIS! How... pitiful.
It kind of looks like this could happen again to SML, not because of reused content.
This is why I don't monetize on UA-cam! I'd rather make money elsewhere.
It's only getting worse.
Biggest blunder in all of UA-cam.
Had a false hit less than a month ago. Appealed and the hit was removed. I'm just assuming they were tweaking the algorithm. Working for youtube is like being employed by a paranoid android.
you know i wouldn't be surprised to find out that the algorithm is just ran by marvin from hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy
UA-cam: 'We’re not removing your monetization, just hiding it behind three new hoops and a locked gate.' Gotta love progress!
Previous title: UA-cam Is Falsely REMOVING Monetization From Entire Channels...
I am cycling through different titles, I have almost 100 thumbnails saved to cycle through. The original thumbnail was the red and magenta youtube icon I use every video, people like the red fading to yellow variant which I think is good.
UA-cam will do anything to remove peoples income and yes my channel got the same demonetization after a random short got AR for no reason.
I like how you used the sponsor to roast UA-cams customer support LOL
Same problem here, they said they watched and denied my appel but... I have 0 view in UA-cam studio 😂 so they didn't even watch my appeal
Joyland Ai is better because unlike polyai's advertizing, joyland ai ACTUALLY does not have a filter at all
The fact that bigger react channels abused the reused content rule more than others is insane
i thought you meant youtube was removing monetization completely which i think would be a good thing to prevent people from making videos solely for profit but of course there is more bs going on
youtube is too shy of its mistakes and hide the bad changes
Oh Lord this just keeps getting worse. 1st view counts and now this. What is happening to UA-cam. I miss old UA-cam.
Ah yes. The long battle between roblox and youtube. Who can make the worst updates out there?
How do u get demonetized for heavily editing clips which is 'reused content' when Sniperwolf full on posts the whole clip [and more clips] barely reacting and earning from it???

If only the people could create their own youtube alternative. Maybe get crowdfunded to get a server and a website set up.
I got almost the same exact issue. They took away my YPP and Monetization over "reused content"I swear UA-cam is just Broken now.
Next Video: "UA-cam IS REMOVING VIDEOS."
They always have been.
Literally a 1984 moment from UA-cam
I feel like UA-cam needs to be hit with a class action lawsuit, because they are 100% robbing 'small creators' who aren't able to fight back. And it might not even be 'intentional' at that, they might be training their bots in such a way that the bots are given "Thumbs ups" whenever they are doing certain actions, so when it could be that demonetizing videos and making money from that is a "Approved behavior" and so it is constantly overextending the judgement calls on small creators.
damn thats dystopian. Someday we will have our revenge
Just when you think this site couldn't get any worse, UA-cam comes in with the goddamn metal chair
if you don't already do this, uncheck the ‘publish to subscriber feed and notify subscribers’ option in the ‘licence and distribution’ section when you upload a new video.
Roblox already has tons of developers.
i heard google is losing chrome, pretty sure they own youtube
This is why I hope UA-cam is ripped away from Google along with chrome. They don’t deserve it at all, and all the corrupt staff should be replaced and it should be run by the content creators.
I got demonetized for the same reason but I feel it was justified, I did reuse other's content, but after I took down the videos and got monetized again my viewership dropped to basically nothing so as you can see I gave up on this channel
UA-cam man...
When I watched your video I was in the process on waiting the 90 days in order to reapply ypp again
But just 2 days ago i was devastated to found out my reaaply failed due to the same reason yet again
I guess it is my own channel's problem, and i hope the appeal would work out this time
Thanks for giving hope man
Make a separate channel for your heavily edited stuff.
UA-cam, stop, we already have enough moral high ground to not watch ads!
we need to move to rumble
Or Vimeo or Dailymotion.
Wow. I guess this means we are going old school UA-cam...just like it supposed to be. Free and creative content.
Lack of communication is what UA-cam is.

Almost all the famous youtubes should be demonetized through this rule right?
What is that rule???
