I am a seventy year old grandmother and I too never get tired of viewing. My dad used to take me to Weymouth Air Base all the time when was a kid. He sure knew a lot of people over there. It's all magic and deep respect for these pilots and the crew on these ships. Weymouth closed in the early nineties and I sure do miss it. My dad was WWll and my brother Vietnam.
Aircraft in US inventory bearing the Red Star, are known as "Aggressor Squadrons". Their task is to act as enemy aircraft in virtually all forms of training excercises. There have been A-4 Skyhawks, F-4 Phantoms, F-5 Freedom Fighters, F-15 Eagles and F/A-18 Hornets, used as "Aggressors".
I was inside our house today and heard an unusual sound coming from a jet engine. As soon as I heard it I knew it wasn't from our air force so I looked outside and I think I just saw two US fighters F-18 flying . Awesome morning.
What happened to all your videos? I used to watch your videos as a kid (maybe 10-13 yrs old). Id watch them on repeat over and over and over again. Your videos made me dream of being a military pilot. Today im at the naval academy pursuing Marine Corps aviation. Thank you for making awesome videos.
ive worked on CVN-72. Looks very similar to this carrier except the antenna and radar on the tower. I got to tell you this is the best carrier vid ive ever seen! Really miss my time over there.
this is a great video and a well deserved tribute to all the personnel serving on carriers that make something like this possible if anyone would like to try in a fly simulation environment (FSX) similar carrier operations just contact me and we can make it happen
God I can't wait. I'm going into college now and I'll be in the NROTC. As soon as I graduate I'll be an officer getting my wings. I wish I could just skip the whole college part. lol
Many of the aircraft shown on board are gone from the fleet now except the E-2's and the C2-s and Super Hornet's/Growlers. I think I even spied some A-6's and they have been gone a looonnngggg time now. They have even gone from the boneyard in Arizona now.
Made it. Saw one with a boat and thought a F18 would fit. I'm pretty sure it got big on some aviation forum, it might even be somewhere on Google images lol.
wow!!!...me being retired from the NAVY...even though it wasn't on the Reagan or the Truman...this is an AMAZING video!! kudos to you man! you did a baddass job!
The best navy video I've ever seen. Great job editing the quality couldn't be better the shots of the ship and hornets are amazing. Also the music goes just perfectly. Awesome video
ok now let me explain the reason why the EA-6B Prowlers cockpit looks kinda small in the video is because its a side view. trust me the only other plane thats like the EA-6B is the A-6 Intruder (the plane the EA-6B is based off of). also if you look closely, for split second you can see the big ugly refuling probe sticking up off the nose. lastly just look at the canopy it looks nothing like an F/A-18 canopy in any way.
are we talking about the same scene??? im talking about the plane at 0:04 - 0:05. that plane is an EA-6B Prowler. no model of the F/A-18 uses that style of canopy. look it up
I shot and directed an Aviation Short Film! Click the link to watch!

I'm an Army guy, but I will never get tired of watching carrier deck operations. It's poetry in motion.

even 10 years later this is still one of the highest quality best videos out there
The carrier footage alone is awesome but the music selected takes this video over the top! Goosebumps...
Used to run "plane guard" for this carrier when I was on the USS Jouett CG-29...1989.
Beauty, Strength, Courage, Selflessness, and absolutely pure adrenaline.
This is where I want to be!
Ultimate show of force right there. Want to get a message across that you aren't fucking around.. park an aircraft carrier nearby

I have written about jet aircrafts before without ever watching a video about them. Surprisingly, this was the feeling I had delivered too.

I'm the exact opposite, I'm here because I'm researching carrier operations *before* writing.

You should seriously put this through to the USN recruitment or PR department because this is amazing.

There is an A-6 Intruder at 0:28 so that places at least some of this footage before 1997 when the last were retired.
