    I love that this was modeled after the GoPro 3 promotional video - still the best GoPro marketing video ever, even 8 years later. Daybreak is the perfect song for something like this.

      +spOOnTheGamer You ever pull some good Gs? Im fine with positive Gs, but negative Gs throw me off. Did like -2 or -3Gs in an aerobatics plane, once. It was brutal.

      You should try man! Im a single engine private pilot and Im only 20. Find a local airport and see if you like it! 150ish for each lesson (all involve you flying from the first lesson)

    • @mufake7088
      @mufake7088 8 років тому

      1. I'm not rich 2. I'm afraid of heights like hell 3. I don't think any random airport in the UK would let a 17 year old fly a Boeing 747 xD

    • @dillanaddington7022
      @dillanaddington7022 8 років тому +4

      You don't have to be rich my friend! Even if you only took one lesson every couple months, the flight hours never go away and will count toward your license and ratings and stuff.

    • @dillanaddington7022
      @dillanaddington7022 8 років тому +3

      And it all starts with single engine land ratings, then later comes multi engine and finally jets if you keep at it.

      ***** I had the chance to talk with the Chief Warrant Officer of France's military air forces, and he explained to me the path to follow :
      First, you start by learning mechanics, you learn everything about fighter jets.
      Then you repair them, you fix them.
      But it takes a long time. But normally, like... 25 or 30years old, you start to learn all about pilots and how to use fighter jets!!! But It's really hard...
      I don't know if you'll understand what I'm saying, i'm sorry if I did some spelling mistakes...

    • @nobodykratos3872
      @nobodykratos3872 9 років тому

      Aurore Franquart haha you did great, don't worry. Most people who speak english can't spell worth a damn. Yes, one of my buddies had a chance to pilot a B1 Bomber. I wanted to fly a jet so bad, but it's too many years for something I can't use in real life.

    • @nobodykratos3872
      @nobodykratos3872 9 років тому

      Just write away, maybe I can even teach you a bit more english. :) I teach grammar to foreign students. I try to expand their vocabulary as well, if you're interested :)

    as a grateful civilian, and as badass as fighter pilots are, my favorite part of all of these carrier ops navy videos is the crew on the deck. the discipline and role every single person there amazes me. i want to see more of what the entire crew does.
    i also love seeing the obvious appreciation that the pilots seem to have for the flight deck crews that make the shit happen. that fist pump in the beginning is epic and wholesome

But most inspiring is the super typhoon relief in the Philippines using the carrier George Washington as the air base. Stunning.

    Awesome video! It is a fun and exciting edit, but I personally would love to see a more "real time - ride a long" with coms and procedures explained… not sure if that would be a security issue - but if it is allowed, it would be cool to see for many pilots.

      William Boler Are you saying that with any authority, or are you just guessing?
      I mean sheeesh - I'm not asking for secret code the vault on the bridge of the carrier with the extra bomb key inside (I don't think that's even a thing :P)
      Seeing some standard F/A-18 operating procedures would be cool and I imagine they'd be entirely innocuous to share…
      We aren't talking about the F35 here; the F/A-18 is a fighter from the 1980's and I don't think anything about it is secret anymore. (I am guessing admittedly)

    • @williamewing462
      @williamewing462 10 років тому +8

      +FlightChops, it could be done to some extent, but nobody has the balls anymore to risk questioning what is and is not a security risk. I was actually chastised once for asking for training software on the Rules of the Road, aka Collision Regulations, an international treaty-stipulated set of rules for all navigation, military, private, commercial, or recreational. The Pentagon official who was trying to take me to task for it actually thought it was a classified naval document, and wondered if I could possibly have the clearance for it. Over the course of my career, I saw more & more auto-classification, and less & less thought put into what should or should not be classified. So even though it *would* be *possible* to sprinkle some chatter in, it won't happen, and some people who want to feel important will make McCarthyesque criticisms of you for asking. Ignore them, they're the same people who like to play those "I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you" games.

    Naval pilots; best damn pilots in my opinion.
    If all goes well I will have my bachelors in 1.5 years and off to OCS and then flight school.

    I am a depressed crying guy with a broken dream.
    I always wanted to join the AirForce, and i went to the most difficult schools just for that, but i always had a problem of synusithis, which gives me problems to my ears... and there you go, just like that my life is over already.
    That was the only thing that i was really into, (and you can't imamagine the anger and the depression i have)

      +Kevin Somenzi I had a primary nomination to attend the naval academy, which produces many of the aviators like the ones in this video. I found out I'm half deaf in my left ear, and so did not get to attend and ended my dreams of flying. You sound younger, so trust me, you'll find a way to pursue your passion or find another one.

      +Matt W Thanks a lot for your comment, really appreciate it.
      Another dream? Impossible. This is not just a dream, this is the possibility to feel like a god (I can't even explain it)
      I felt and I know that I could have been really good at it, I would have studied for even another 30 years JUST to get there.
      I ma sorry for what happened to you, i understand.
      I wanted to sign up for the "aereospacial" (don't know the Word in English, but should be right) University, and just get started, but i can't, be cause there is absolutely no reason now. There is NOTHING that could ever even be compared to this dream.

      +Kevin Somenzi Don't feel too bad. Studies show that people change careers at least a few times in their lives. Even if you did become a fighter pilot, it's not gonna last forever so it's alright if you aren't a fighter pilot. My eyesight is bad and I know I probably won't get selected for pilot training so I'm already looking into other careers. Maybe you can be a groundie? You're still hanging around aircraft

      V.T.O.L. Fried Chicken It's not about war, it's about piloting an Eurofighter, and F16 or a F18... For me there ia no comparision to this dream. Other careers are just jobs you do inside society, behind a desk..It's not my destiny, just not. I know statistics have shown that people switch jobs.. but i am not "people":|
      I don't really care about business or money, i care about having feelings, experiences of physics laws, "of flight".

      Actually F18's primary mission is to seek and destroy ground based air defense. That's why they're "Strike" fighters.
