I want a game that has the writing of two with the gameplay of three. That's the peanutbutter and chocolate for me, instead of endless poop jokes and mishandled characters

The main writer from wonderlands did bl4 so it probably wont be bad, but it’s no Anthony Burch. We all have to realize how great bl4 could be we will never have another bl2

Zer0 and Fl4k are the only unique looking vault hunters and even Zer0's base design is pretty simple
Athena is my favourite Vault hunter. Tha fact that her offense/defense skilltrees were called „xiphos“ and“aspis“ made perfect sense.
A simple design doesn't mean it's bad or lesser by any means. As long as the design protrays the character's abilities and personality well, it's a good design, in my opinion at least

BL4 is my most anticipated game...period! I am super hyped for it.

3 is the best game overall once bias is removed, but I will say: 3 has the best gameplay, 2 has the best story, and 1 has the best environment in a dark/desolate kind of way.
Give me 3s gameplay but updated even more, with a good story, and a darker theme/music/humor. Which so far, it looks like we're getting.

Naw borderlands 3 not the best, not even l close and retention of those games proves it. Borderlands 2 content still pulls more views then borderlands 3. Stop coping
Yes it’s firm disagree. And along with 2 I still play 3. The Ui today is still laggy. They destroyed hammerlock, and turned him from the gentleman warrior to the whiney doof. The weapons all feel like toys and pew pewy, most of the time I aim at the red dot on the map because there so many trails and splash you can’t even see the enemy. And as far as gameplay, outside of a word see everyone just copying, what does that entail? Sliding? How you buy ammo, or interact with the environment? It’s not that much better.

Immediately felt the same. We got a glimpse. It felt like such an overreaction from the community. Try to enjoy the chance to get a new borderlands. Twisted metal ended because the creator didn't feel he could satisfy his split community so he didn't even attempt it.

Young at heart! I need to go back and re-watch the way you word your opinion on 3 because it's pretty close to exactly how I feel about it all. 2 has a better story, but nearly everything else feels superior in 3 to me - as someone who values gameplay and "the rule of fun" above all else.
The tone and writing of BL3’s dlc stories managed to return my faith in gearbox’s ability to make good characters and story lines. Looking at how we’re getting more serious and sinister antagonists, I’m actually feeling very optimistic about bl4
DLCs are much much better than the main story. I'd argue on par or better than BL2 DLCs.
0:49 THANK you someone that actually has common sense. This shit don’t fucking matter. We haven’t really seen anything about them yet. The old games would NEVER hold up in modern day because just how Funky the market can be. Back then it was kinda a golden age of innovation games were releasing bangers left and right Halo 3 and reach, Borderlands 2, dark souls 1, shadow of the Colossus, the transformers cybertron games, and so many more I’m not mentioning because I can’t remember all of them. These were games that just made things better BL1 sucked leveling wise, but in 2 it was toned down a bit and Exploration was more vast and enemy variety was more numerous.
I've been playing through the series since it first came out, and I agree with you for the most part, I will say that I just fjnished playing BL:2 for the first time in like 10 years and still had a blast. On another note, I really want them to add DLC Vault Hunters. That is the only thing I had an issue with regarding BL:3.
I’m replaying BL2 now as well and am having fun but it’s a good reminder of how much more I enjoy 3. And yeah no DLC VH was disappointing but I’m also not in favor of more micro-transactions so maybe they could just drop new VH a few months after release or something idk. Not sure what the best way to do it is. Maybe add them in with story DLC?

I'm very neutral about the Borderlands 4 trailer. It just doesn't show us enough to form an opinion on if we'll like it. Like you said, gameplay matters the most and the trailer didn't show much of it, just a couple new abilities that will probably be cool. But I can't get excited until I see the skill trees for the vault hunters and I can start to think about what builds sound cool.

Borderlands 4 is already on track to be the best game in the franchise. Especially with double jumping and Omni movement confirmed

It will be but if you’ve used mods you would have already been using those mechanics. I doing both in bl2 right now. While cool, it’s not a game changer

I think the devs didnt make a very well lit slow walk shot for the hunters. Design wise they are fine but the muted colors and low contrast made it look flat. Even BL1 had color change options so im not worried there. Hope fully they get good personalities and the voice actors are into their roles
completely agree. Suboptimal intial reveal. But we need to relax and wait for more in-depth gameplay to show off the skills, names, voicelines, etc
BL3 is an amazing game!
Has a couple ingame issues, some balance problems, over monotized DLC, mid story and annoying characters. But damn, smoothest movement in the series no contest, megaton of endgame to chew on, great playable characters, beautiful levels, etc!
Yeah I think it's all about how you value story/characters vs. gameplay. I'm definitely in the gameplay camp.
I fall in a weird place where I was around for the og games but am perfectly fine with the newer games. Unpopular opinion, I enjoy the hell out of wonderlands. Not the end game but just building different character builds and playstyles.

The maps in B3 killed me, most are completely linear. I loved B2 maps. B3 also needed check points removed way too many.
the seamless world in 4 will be an interesting evolution, especially with being able to spawn your vehicle nearly anywhere 👀
I am beyond hyped. I didn’t really care about the design until it got talked about then I started thinking about them. Then realize it’s only cause we know literally nothing besides one is a siren, no names no backstory etc. once we get those the opinion will def change

Another thing is I am think the time keeper maybe like handsome Jack because of a post by (insert name here)(I forgot who made the post. ;-;) but he pretty munched teased a few locations and said welcome to Elpis Kiddos. So either a handsome handsome Jack reference or it could be that the new villain is gonna have that same personality as him. Which I am all for.
It’s really hard to make a borderlands villain that beats handsome jack, but bl3 had great gameplay so I was able to get over some of the characters I didn’t like. People were very vocal about the borderlands 3 story so I have hope that borderlands 4 will be a lot better even if it doesn’t top borderlands 2
Well said. I’m optimistic that the story is returning to a darker/grittier vibe similar to BL1.
0:48 yh theyre bland. To elaborate:
Borderlands 1 had all human characters yh but they were all different and unique in terms of looks.
Borderlands 2 took it up a notch and gave the class stereotypes more colour and made them more interesting
Borderlands the pre-sequel literally gave claptrap as an option, a guy that starts human than becomes more of a cyborg and an ice-queen.
Borderlands 3 gave us a Beastmaster, an irish man, and a GUNDAM.
These designs just make me feel were going back borderlands 1 but minus the uniqueness of each vault hunter

Calling out 1 per game isn’t very strong evidence that past games had a perfect suite of unique VHs. And if “Irish man” qualifies as unique to you, then how does “black guy with ear ring” or “giant barbarian type dude” not also count?

Second off this doesn't have anything to do with races and stuff like that. VA are a contributing factor yh but I meant that each character looked unique in they're own way
Like for example mordecai, he's got the hood with the glasses and the beard plus talon.
And Roland with the solder esque look
And lilith with the siren marks glowing
And brim with his mannerisms.
Like they kept on improving the style and color scheme of the vault hunters as It went on and now with the bl4 vaulthunters it looks like we're going back to step 0. (imo)
Also yh Shane being the Irish guy maybe a thing but if you took a look at zhane and compared him to the other vaulthunters who would u say looks brighter and more colourfull. I'd say zhane (imo) cuz zhane literally has a style and colour scheme that goes with the accent.

I appreciate your explanation why you feel these character designs don't measure up to past VHs tbh. I will respectfully disagree on a lack of uniqueness however as I feel like these characters are being judged more harshly than previous ones in that same vein. Especially since we don't know all their action skills, personalities, or backstories yet so how can we fairly judge them against the others we've known for years? It just feels like an inherent disadvantage to being newer characters.
At least one person that makes great point about other Vault hunter being as jeneric from the pics alone as new ones. We never even heard voices and seen the characters.

I agree. I think the community has been split ever since BL3. I personally wasn’t super amazed by the trailer, but it’s something to look forward to. Think Randy & Gearbox may have overhyped the reveal trailer, but we have no reason to think the game *wouldn’t* be good just becauee of an okay reveal trailer
Also while Borderlands 2 had a great narrative and dlc’s, Borderlands 3 absolutely clears in terms of fun gameplay lol

What I liked about Borderlands 3 is the music, BALEX & the gameplay.
Story and Vault hunters not so much, people have every right shitting on the the design.
So you are totally right, if we are lucky we get a kick ass world to play around with smoother gameplay.
Now it would be perfect if the writing and vault hunters would be good for once too - but that's not going to happen.
Fkn hell even Tiny Tinas Wonderland had a better cast of hunters than what was shown in 4.
Guess i'm just salty they killed Maya, I can never get over it - so based.
@@PROPHYZ my point more boils down to how this vault hunters aren’t objectively more or less blank than the majority of past vault hunters. Most people just have biases due to already playing the past games and getting to know the VHs more. We don’t even have names or a legit gameplay trailer to show off the action skills yet lol
HUGE lover of BL2 but I’m so hyped for BL4. I personally like the look of the new vault hunters and so do my brothers who I’ve played all the games with.

in borderlands 1 i would make the argument that roland and brick dont stand out nether did axton in bl2 but look at any other expechaly in bl3 they all stand out its got nothing to do with toxicity when the characters do generally look bland or just generic sure its possible the customization can address this but that is fair criticism. plus its a big worry about the story too as it is being written by the same people that wrote 3 which is defently worrisome though only time will tell how well it turns out.

I don't see how it's toxic if you're being honest. They DO look bland. If you think they look better than older vault hunters, your eyes need fixed. That being said, I'm still excited for the game and not judging the game based on the character designs alone.
@@DylanTaylor-k6z I’d argue that if we just saw a picture of a random selection of past vault hunters with no knowledge of skills or names, we would think they are bland too. Very few stand out in any capacity to me.

respectfully I would still say the new hunters looks bland. Mordecai and Axton are bland too, sure, but that seems like a bit of a strawman argument. they also made Fl4k, Zane, Amara, Krieg, Claptrap was a playable vault hunter in the pre-sequel, Willhelm, Gaige, ZERO is iconic, etc. The new hunters look like backround characters in a bar in a borderlands 1 DLC. But at the same time, who really cares anyway as long as the abilities and game play are good. The new hunters could be grey boxes and i wouldn't care as long as they have unique playstyles. How they look doesn't affect gameplay at all, and its an FPS, you really only see your character in animations anyway. Im very excited for BL4 and it remains my most anticipated game even if the hunter designs arent my cup of tea, if you love how they look then more power to you im the last person to tell others how to enjoy things

I used them as examples because i think their designs are just better, its not fair to judge them based on their abilities yet because we've seen like one ability from the BL4 hunters, i'm judging them based on looks alone, and other than maybe Krieg I think they're all very unique looking. genuinely what is unique about these new hunters? One of them has a robotic arm i guess, i like how he looks, but the rest of them? Athena alone clears the entire Bl4 line up imo, but its subjective which is my whole point.
I have been away for the Community for quite a bit and it has gotten very Negative. For me the Trailer was not that special, B3 Trailer was much funner and felt special. I will Definitely buy B4 because I love the Series and its my type of game. Just hope for the best for the game

Their color scheme on the new characters could be better but overall they look good to me. As for the gameplay, it will always be good

I completely agree with you, bl2 was one of my favorite games but i do have to say 3 is better. The story isnt as bad as everyone makes it our to be either, im replaying it right now currently and i have to say im liking it way more than i initially did. I think i was convinced it was bad by everyone online so i was looking for the bad in it,nsure its got some cringe moments, jokes that dont hit at all. But overall it has my chuckling here and there and genuinely having a good time. More fun than ive ever had in boardelands tbh. The gameplay is off the chain, and like u said thats what we really care about in a game anyways. Also im super hyped for 4, everyone is wat too negative and thats just sad man, were lucking to have these games at all... If people keep hating on them were eventually not gonna see any more boarderlands at all. And man, that would be a shame.

people saying that borderlands 4 vhs are bland are the same people saying Axton, Salvador, and Maya were interesting. There's a reason only Zero had a major role in 3 (I know Maya appeared but she died within the hour of us seeing her)
They weren't interesting but their designs were way better. Hell even the BL1 designs were better. 3 normal people and 1 roided super soldier is just asking for people to hate most of the characters

@@TheeFURNAS_ To start, Roland and Axton were the most "normal." Despite both being chiseled soldiers, they were still "normal dudes in a group of freaks," which made them stand out. Lilith is the worst in bl1, considering she's just a hottie with red hair but it was 2009 and having red hair and the tattoos still makes her have more than the bl4 siren. Mordecai is in a fucking gimp suit and brick is a 8 foot tall musclehead with scars.
Bl2 had a another guy in a gimp suit but with a more interesting sci fi helmet. Maya had BLUE HAIR, BLUE LIPSTICK AND BLUE TATTOOS with a more interesting and flashy costume and a fat dwarf with a beard.
Salvador imo is the weakest in 2. However he still more interesting than "black female with the only haircut devs give black people", "black guy with more basic hair than the black girl" and "pink tattoos". Vault hunters that don't look like vault hunters but instead look like shitty npcs and literally look worse than some of the npcs that were shown in the trailer.

I see where you're coming from. I'm a part of the crowd that really enjoyed Borderlands 2 a lot and feel like it could be my favorite game I can always go back and play it it doesn't matter how many years go by. I still appreciate the third game quite a lot, and it is my favorite at the current second. But only because it has improved systems. Not because it has a better story. There are many drawbacks to the third game, most feel personal, a lot of them do. Most of my problems with the third game come with how they handled the third games story and overall atmosphere and characters. and Between the main villains just being annoying, scooter dying in a spin-off game that got canonized, killing off my Mia, they kind of ruined Tiny Tina for most, she lost a lot of personality, then they made new Tales from the Borderlands and it's just not Borderlands, the tone the atmosphere, was just not it. Then they made the Borderlands movie and you got to see how toned deaf they are. A lot of people are worried that it's just going to turn into new Tales from the Borderlands with a Fresh coat of paint that looks like Borderlands 3. You have to understand that people are just worried about the coming games when they have not handled the most recent titles and content very well. And that they lost a lot of their fan base not because it's not Borderlands 2 they lost that fan base because they went woke and lost their minds for a while with poor decisions. And a comment by @samm7371 said it in a way a massive majority of fans can agree with. ( I want a game that has the writing of two with the gameplay of three. Hope this helps people understand that's it's not something you need to use a magnified glass to see. It's in everyone's face. Just step back a bit and look. Every one needs to wake up and look deeper, At Gearbox.
I hear you and understand what you're saying, but I also need to say that most of this falls under the general "story" aspect of the games...which I weigh lower than other aspects. Maybe like 20% of my care goes to story whereas "moment to moment gameplay" gets close to 50% weighting. So that's where games like 3 and Wonderlands get a pretty big edge over older titles.
The art style has changed alot imo, it still has some of that original borderlands flare but its slowly leaning into the semi-realistic cartoon look if that makes sense, kind of looowwwkey reminds of overwatch/pixar. The world looks beautiful but the characters look so bland. Hoping their abilities change my opinion
Miss the older characters, not even from lore or personality, just their abilities and thematic were so cool and fun!, Gunzerker was OD, Athena had a super cool ability, Claptrap was unique, Lillith was super cool, etc.
@@makimastan all fair. I think the updated graphics are definitely up to personal preference. I like them. And having more options on how to alter the class skills (in 3) was refreshing.

It's fair to give BL2 props, it was an amazing game but not without flaws and that story seemed like lightning in a bottle more than anything. I was a big fan of the older games too but I enjoyed BL3 and Wonderlands just as much. It just sucks that some people refuse to look past their bias and jump to trash every game that isn't like BL2.

2's writing with 3's mechanics with a little extra QOL to make it new and shiny is what I'm hoping for. That and they don't introduce and immediately Marry Sue the worst character in the game.

Borderlands 3 had a good story but a bad execution and dialogue at least compared to the behind the scenes stuff we got but the gameplay was amazing if they made these new vault hunters less boring looking I'd prob be way more hyped for 4 but we shall see
One of my main points is that they’re not actually boring compared to past VHs. Or if they are, then you also need to say that most past VHs are boring as well.

Good points all around. I think Gearbox has...it's issues. I myself fall in to the weird outlier camp of TPS being my favorite tied with BL1, but that being said, I hate the modern Borderlands live-service driven model. BL3 in particular really put a bad taste in my mouth because of the constant weapon tweaking patches after launch and throughout it's release. Spending hours farming a specific weapon with perfect parts just didn't matter when it felt like it could be absolute dogshit a month from now once I've built my skills around it and so on. The ongoing event system was nice, but BL3 was the first Borderlands game I didn't really sink my teeth in to at release. Two years later? Hell yeah, but constant weapon churn, no raid boss at launch, and god awful main baddies that imho went beyond the pale of parody and into mediocrity, just has me hesitant about new borderlands games.
All fair points. I haven't experienced any of the games truly at launch so the constant patching is something I haven't seen in action. I can imagine it being annoying though.
@@TheeFURNAS_ Yeah, it removed a lot of the carrot from the stick for me, as it had the effect of removing the incentive to go for stronger gear. Kind of like how Path of Exiles 2 is right now, people invest in builds, builds do very well, dev nerfs build, player left asking if it's worth trying to build again.

Naughty Dog knows dinguses will show up to make a big deal out of nothing, so they simply don't allow it to happen. It's pretty smart TBH. The kinds of people that complain about DEI in games are some of the worst in the overall gaming community and I wouldn't want them wasting space in my comment section either 🤡
I love borderlands becase i like to talk crap bout handsome jack and playing the game and specially borderlands 3 when you play the handsome jackpot were you save timothy lawrence in the game and i am hoping they bring him back in these game borderlands 4 and the vault hunters don't look bland to me they look cool as hell specially the new siern she looks wicked and i all ready clamed her as my character when we play it so borderlands 4 looks so cool to me i can't wait

Ava is a trainwreck of a character for sure. If they bring her back in 4 then I expect the time jump to have her matured and able to make reasonable decisions instead of the worst possible choice nonstop hahaha

Im playing regardless. it just needs to be GOOD. Wonderlands was good it just fell off. i just dont want my op guns nerfed. i want more raids. i want harder content for tvhm and loot to reflect. dont care about the story, unless Roland comes back from the dead. Vault hunters look like trash but they always customizable.

BL2 & handsome jack are very hard to beat in many aspects. But the gameplay in 3 is peak and I can look past the story and still enjoy the game

In 5 years I’m gonna play BL2. I’m never touching BL3 again. Just cause it has better graphics and “gameplay” doesn’t make it the best. Who’s going back to play Halo 5? Or Infinite? Now Halo 3 we’ll play forever. Games are nonlinear like that, what seems best isn’t always.

@ That wasn’t what I meant but ok. I mean some games are timeless not because they came out at the right time but everything coming together into a great game. BL3 isn’t going to stand the test of time, it already hasn’t. Some games you wouldn’t recommend the newest entry but maybe an earlier title. I don’t know if im explaining this good. @@theegg7520 no it makes sense and I get it completely. But from my perspective, 3 beats 2 in every main category except story & related things. So you ultimately have to weigh story/related things high-ish for 2 to be the “better” game overall. Nostalgia also plays a big role for this series.
My and my friend had once very good idea... Lets 100% borderlands games... So we player 2 and 3 100% and now we are playing 1 and i can say from heart that borderlands 2 sucks ass. If you have ever tried to 100% you know what i mean. The switch from bl2 to bl3 was amazing. The movement improved and visuals improved (one - point is the game size with all dlc from pandoras box). Bl3 story was horrendous and cringe all the way from start to end but i really didnt care. At least i didnt have to hear buttstallion jokes from jack
People are quick to forget that BL2 is full of cringe toilet humor as well
I was with you until you said that dumb sh*t about bl2 (as I sit playing it now) it’s great then and it’s much better later on. The way they weaved the og characters into the story, the sense of urgency the story has even from the first 10 minutes. The challenge and side missions that most of the time flesh out the main story even more. I’m not a purist at all. I don’t give af about dedicated drops, farming, I’ve played through the game at least 30x since launch. And even right now knowing all the meta, the meaning of red text, and knowing what jack is going to say….. it’s still enjoyable. I’ve been gaming since Atari. I can’t honestly say that about more than 3 games in 30 years.
I love BL2. On TVHM with another Zer0 playthrough as we speak. I openly acknowledge that the story is peak in BL2. But he moment to moment GAMEPLAY is simply better in 3 end of story the QOL and actual mechanics are superior. We need to be able to recognize reality.
While I agree that most of the past vault hunters don’t looks special either, they still look far better than the vault hunters for Borderlands 4. The only good thing I can say about any of the new vault hunters is that the new sirens outfit is pretty cool. But her hair and face are ugly as hell. The new Hunter looks like a homeless Zane with darker skin and brown hair. The dark skin girl has one of, if not the ugliest outfit of any vault hunter ever, and her hair is terrible. The big guy is ok but he isn’t very interesting either. All the new vault hunters have pretty much the same hair color as each other as well. Borderlands 1 vault hunters aren’t amazing looking but at least they actually look unique when compared to each other. Especially Lilith having her brighter hair color. With Borderlands 2 you got Zero who is probably the coolest looking vault hunters in all of borderlands other than maybe Fl4k. Borderlands 2 also has Krieg which is a freaking playable Psycho. Borderlands 3 has a big playable robot guy who looks cool. Pre-sequel lets you play as Clap-Trap. All the other games have at least 1 or 2 characters that stand out, but 4 doesn’t.
I'm definitely on the purist side of that fence, but I acknowledge that each game is a product of its time in general, saying that, I do love them all, but I love borderlands 3 more, and when 4 comes out, I'll probably enjoy 4 more. I see people bitching about the characters are boring, every character in every game was boring, until you get to customize them, they touched on it in 3 in a while new way that I hope that improve upon and do itinerary base game over the character skins. I love borderlands but it seems to be like most other pve games I enjoy which is the community are turning into a bunch of whiny cry babies, and I can think of 6 different games in the last 2 years where the communities bashed and ripped into teasers and launch trailers like the game has been out for 4 years.

Wouldn’t have hated 3 as much if it wasn’t for the terrible story, gearbox being nerf happy with strong weapons (and characters) Or just allowing good guns to be power crept so hard that they’re no longer viable. Had some of my favorite guns get phased out cause they either got nerfed too hard or just weren’t as good anymore cause some new gun got released with the dlc that was several times better so given how terribly bl3 was handled in that regard, I’ll have to wait on 4 for a good bit. Makes sure they don’t pull the same shit
the balancing and re-balancing when the game 1st came out was a bit frustrating for sure. I think they'll learn from those mistakes and have a much smoother initial few months with 4.

@ no but I have friends who have. And they also played bl3 from launch. Even they said balancing in 3 was complete ass. The argument you’re even trying to make is laughable, in bl2 they never nerfed characters to the point where they weren’t usable.
I will admit some character’s definitely needed buffs tho (just gaige really) but regardless in the end comparing the 2, it’s not even close. When it comes to weapons I’m not talking about meta, I’m talking about guns that are viable and can kill things in a reasonable amount of time. Think there’s about like 15 or 20 of them in 2. In terms of proportion tho that’s almost half the guns in 2 that are viable (there’s about 48 legendaries in 2 and if we’re comparing 3 to it we should also include pearlescents)
in 3 however it’s about the same at about 20 or 25 which proportionally is much worse since there’s about 138 legendary weapons. And that’s just the weapons. Haven’t even talked about the characters yet. Which is why I say I find it laughable when you’re trying to compare the balancing of both games bl3 is objectively worse when it comes to nerfs and power creep. An argument can be made about the op system vs the mayhem system. But aside from that 3 is objectively worse

The ''forever Bl2'' crowd will pick apart anything GBX does to prove they were right about Bl2 being the best game ever. & that is where all the negativity about a tiny little Bl4 trailer has started. Love your example of their hypocrisy with the fetch quests. There are countless other things they complain about with Bl3 that are often even worse in Bl2. And now its VHs with all kinds of cybernetics & exoskeletons are boring compared to the old VHs. Really? It has got to stop.
The best part is that I never said BL2 was bad. It's a god tier game. But we have to be able to give credit where it's do and BL3 did numerous things better than 2.

The Borderlands 1 trailer shows Roland, Lilith, Mordecai & Brick explosively lowering the Skag & Bandit populations. 4 hardened, blood thirsty mercs slaughtering all who stood before them.
The Borderlands 4 trailer shows 4 nameless hipsters who look like they're waiting to Dr Zed to dish out their weekly Methadone. The only thing that could have salvaged that boring snooze fest would have been the rippers & Eridians converging on the 4 California community college students.

Agree to disagree for the most part. But in general, you seem unable to notice the fact that it was a mostly-cinematic trailer with barely any actual gameplay. Forming an opinion this strong based on the tiny amount of teaser footage that we got for the VH is goofy to me.
The bland 4 resemble theater arts and cinema students not the battle tested mercs of the previous games. Also, the action in the trailers let you know what the og vault hunters could do

I will say as a person who played all the borderlands so far, including Wonderland in the two tail games I love fruit. It has the best gameplay mechanics quality of life new vehicles you could upgrade your vehicles. Best guns in my opinion the best vault hunters so far

Lazy charakter design is a strong indicator for lazy writing and lazy storytelling on the way! Thats a fact. We saw this shit like 10x in this year with Veilguard beeing the latest failure. The fact that they show us this less information in this late stage of the game is very disturbing. Now compare the BL3 E3 trailer or Valentin trailer with BL4 trailer and tell me that the BL4 trailer is not absulute garbage. Because if you tell us BL4 Vault Hunters looks as good most previous Vault hunters than you are in fact crazy
but calling these lazy is odd to me. Because past VH look similarly bad and lazy. Especially when we don't know the new VH names, abilities (outside of the teaser clips), voices, backstories, etc
Do you know how many times we heard the quote „do not judge a book by its cover“? Do you know 99% of times the game was shit after all? @@Kalashee I think being overly positive or overly negative is silly here but maybe I’m missing details about how Gearbox has dealt with criticism. I don’t see the shortcomings of the previous few games as all that bad though. My reasoning for feeling this way is because I weigh story lower than most people. My personal goal is to enjoy the moment to moment gameplay above all else and the gameplay is best in BL3 and Wonderlands.
@@TheeFURNAS_ Well, one particular note off the top of my head when BL3 came out was a whole stint when they banned a bunch of people off the BL3 forum for questioning/not wanting to refer to Fl4k with gender-neutral pronouns, despite Cl4ptp, iron bear, BAYLEX, Sanctuary, GLADYS, Wolf & Saint, some Loader bots, etc. being referred to in-game as "he" or "she" several times. That along with constant prominence of gay couples since Tales & BL3's DLC 2 being completely centered around a gay wedding with the STILL unskippable cutscene of them kissing (even though every other cutscene can be skipped) confirming a lot of fans' concerns that gearbox leaning into and capitulating to this whole woke agenda being inserted into the series.
Or sam winkler in general just being vitriolic and unprofessional about people's criticizm of BL3's overall writing on twitter.
And you value different things in games that weighs your overall opinion; that's absolutely fair enough. But with that said then, isn't it also fair to say that it's equally valid when people want their playable characters to have enough visual flair to get them excited about playing as them, and that when that's not the case, they have a right for *that* to weigh on *their* opinions of a game insofar as to what's been presented to us?
People love to throw out the "don't judge a book by it's cover" quote (which is BS; we all do it, and there's several reasons why, especially nowadays), but only at the negative criticizms of pre-release games. Nobody ever seems to say that when there's a bunch of positivity being thrown at a game that hasn't released yet. Does that sound fair to you?
