I’m honestly surprised they didn’t have a character creator this time around, considering they had it in Wonderlands and that was one of the more interesting parts of that game.
Everyone who's saying the Vault hunters look boring did they forget Borderlands 1? And Salvador? Axton? Those Vault hunters looked way more boring in my opinion These new Vault Hunters actually look pretty Cool and I can't wait to play as them
It pretty much says it all that literally the only vault hunter that actually sticks out to me is the robo-viking. Which isn't too bad actually but still very much feels like a first draft that needed more work.
I don't give a s*** What the character looks like, you never see them anyway. It's not really a big deal in my book. As long as the gameplay is fun, the story is entertaining. And the build diversity is decent for each class. I will be happy.
Hot take: I want a way to level weapons up. Destiny and First Descendant, even if it's never 100% the same. Of course they need us to refarm to keep player retention, but damn it would be cool. Maybe a way to have content that renerates new content to keep it active (different versions of bosses; a mode where things change; etc.). While some people don't like modifiers, I do like fun modifiers.

Gotta say, as someone who briefly played 3, those characters (physically) weren't memorable at all. Hell the moment I found a pigeon helm, that thing never came off. Only thing that was, was the voice acting and their character through that. What I haven’t seen here is references to pacing. It’s not the humor that breaks it. It’s that you can’t break passed it. In bl2 if a character was talking, 9/10 times (should be 10/10) you could just click the glowy thing and they would stop. In BL 3 you HAD to sit there and listen. And it’s obvious how clueless they are about it because there are literal quest objectives that pop up in the MAIN STORY which says to listen to a character. While other times you are just stuck listening for *minutes* before the next objective pops up. Listening should be the single most recurring objective in the game.
While BL3 didn't have a great story, I mainly play Borderlands for gameplay and in that aspect, BL3 hit it out of the park. Give me more of that amazing gameplay and I'll be happy.
I definitely wouldn’t mind a more serious Borderlands. Doesn’t need to go all grim and gritty, just less slapstick and goofy. That schtick is a little played out by now.
I think people are being too harsh on the Vault Hunter designs. Sure, the hunters in 3 were insanely colorful and well designed, but every other game's hunters were mostyl dominated by characters who could fit the same criticism, with the Sirens and Zer0 kind of being the only exceptions
4:04 I mistaken the left guy for Zane when I first seen the trailer. Hopefully it has Wonderlands character creation but I doubt it. Borderlands 3 didn't add dlc characters which sucked.
Character creation should be exclusive to wonderlands, it isn't good for a main game feature. It's way more interesting to play as a character with an actual backstory and history and that can reappear in the future. I used to want this too though until I thought about it more.
Seems to be darker in tone and I'm here for it as someone who thought the other three games should have toned it down a bit and took themselves a touch more serious.
I feel like the vault hunters we play as seem too much like side characters. They don’t have anything that makes them stand out from other npcs in the game. In borderlands I think they’re even npcs that are more diverse than this main cast.
Because we should be reassure about less toilet humor ? It sounds very bad especially from the narrative director himself ...The best Bordelands was the second... Best jokes, one of the greatest vault hunter, good weapons, great story ... The third was wrong in many ways, especially with jokes, villaines, story and "millions" of shitty weapons. And it seems the forth will be even worst in every categories with what was said here... Sad!
I'd love for the series to get back to the original's writing. The humor was... not dark per se, but like, death and stuff was so commoplace it didn't really bother or surprise people that much. It's kinda like they were bored of it, actually. So the humor was us laughing at the circumstances when compared to our normal lives, and not game trying to force a laugh. Everything was bleak and deadpan for the most part, and I loved it. But then Tales (the original one) was also incredibly funny for other reasons, so. Also, please just treat lore and the characters with respect. BL3 felt like a fanfic sometimes.
I just hope they change the character design a little or the costume you can unlock look better than how the characters look in the trailer. They look like baristas which is such a drop in unique design vs previous characters like FL4K, psycho or Zero😭
think i can get through the storyline of all the previous games and dlc before this drops? Only ever got through the base BL1 game and zombie island, maybe general knoxx's armory but i honestly forget if I got through that or not.
People are going to bitch about character designs now because they've been conditioned to. They'd have bitched about 3's and 2's if they came out today. "They look like any old NPC" tells it. Borderlands NPC's tend to look just as good as the Vault Hunters. Given theres a not inconsiderable overlap between those two categories.
I hope that the one of cyborg Viking action skill is brick action skill and I know "it's a redskin of bricks action skill" but what about armara's phasegrasp aka phaselock and fade away is deception
Im hype love borderlands all borderlands they can't do wrong by me cause it's all about gameplay shooting and looting can't be done better than borderlands

3:09 … I NEED that shit
N.,no... Unless you're under 15 that shit is not funny
I’m honestly surprised they didn’t have a character creator this time around, considering they had it in Wonderlands and that was one of the more interesting parts of that game.
Keep that shit in wonderlands. VHs are better than character creator for borderlands.
Nah, that would be the death of the game right there
Everyone who's saying the Vault hunters look boring did they forget Borderlands 1? And Salvador? Axton? Those Vault hunters looked way more boring in my opinion These new Vault Hunters actually look pretty Cool and I can't wait to play as them
This better not flop!!!
Im one that thinks that the humor was part of the games charm .... love it.
It pretty much says it all that literally the only vault hunter that actually sticks out to me is the robo-viking. Which isn't too bad actually but still very much feels like a first draft that needed more work.
Why is the siren always the best looking class
"my siren's name is Brick, and she is the prettiest" I think that's the reason
It looks good?
@@itzbigchicano001 not to me it doesn't
5:23 but didn’t borderlands three already have four player local co-op. That’s how I’ve been playing with my friends.
"no toilet humor" meaning: the writers arent funny. BL3 is already depressing and not funny. BL2 is actually funny and humor is not a problem
Please let the big Viking guy have a melee skill tree I get it the duel blades guy is the melee class but it’s literally a huge Viking guy with elemental axes he gotta chop something in half up close
Gotta say, as someone who briefly played 3, those characters (physically) weren't memorable at all. Hell the moment I found a pigeon helm, that thing never came off. Only thing that was, was the voice acting and their character through that. Edit: so basically, I don't care at all for their base design and am totally fine if it makes the skins look better, cause that's all I do care about when it comes to the Hunter's looks.
Bro bl3 characters were great especially flak and Zane
@@no-ge5mu Of course they are and that's prob why Zane's making a return. My comment was more towards the physical appearance and people complaining about BL4's.
@@Krolshi I can agree the vault hunters look bland but the other games look at the vault hunters they don’t look like anything crazy some of them stand at yes but most of them look basic by default and the cosmetics is what’s memorable
4:55 i think he is supposed to be some kind of play on the Norse god Ullr.
BL1, 2, and TTW were awesome, not gonna let 1 game in a series ruin my anticipation.
Hot take here but I think most of borderlands’ character designs are just alright. So I’m not too hung up on the new vault hunters
Yeah idk why people are all of a sudden calling the vault hunters boring. Probably cause they didn't show a lot of the skills? Like just the vault hunters alone all look boring if you take away their skills.
Thank u they act like the characters have been the craziest most badass designs previously, lol like in blands 2 zero was the most unique designed vault hunter excluding dlc and he’s just a possible humanoid alien lol
To be fair, Zero and Fl4k did stand out. Zayne and Salvador had more special Features aswell. 🤔 not that they had crazy designs, they just stood out for me somehow!
But you're right we did not see anything yet, so it's way to early for shit talk. Charakterwriting would surely be interesting, aswell as seeing those flashy skills!
@@bastiflicker2521 zero was literally a black and white monotone voiced (maybe)robot thing. The like... The definition of boring lol
No hate though cause i loved playing as zero.
i don't know, the bl3 vault hunters just felt special. as much as people didnt like the game, the zane, flak and moze trailers had so much personality. i'm looking at these new vhs and instead of thinking of who's the one i wanna play the most im thinking of who's the least boring lol
2025 is a stacked year for gaming and anime. Shits gon be crazy
I hope they add a third person option that would go so crazy💯
I thing the vault hunters are meant to look ordinary, so their extraordinary abilities and actions make the story all the more impactful.
Id love to see a physically accurate blackhole in this artstyle in a skybox/ship window of BL4
I can see that borderlands got there DEI hire in the game as well
I agree BL3 overplayed it’s love of toilet humor, but “Hawk 2A” is a funny gun name.
Still haven't got around to starting the third one and its spin off. Time flies. 😅
The psycho leader most likely picked up the masks of fallen psychos in battle. Not necessarily from the planet moving.
Borderlands we back baby 😎😎😎💯💯
The humor makes the game
they better bring tina in as an dlc option
Tbh ive liked the VH designs from the beginning… i feel like someone said it, and people just started bandwagoning
In borderlands I think they’re even npcs that are more diverse than this main cast.
idk if its because I got old but Borderlands hasn't had me sink hundreds of hours in since BL2. Really hoping Borderlands 4 is the shiii.
Sad!
Is anybody else getting StarCraft vibes from the available footage?
I'd love for the series to get back to the original's writing. The humor was... not dark per se, but like, death and stuff was so commoplace it didn't really bother or surprise people that much. It's kinda like they were bored of it, actually. So the humor was us laughing at the circumstances when compared to our normal lives, and not game trying to force a laugh. Everything was bleak and deadpan for the most part, and I loved it. But then Tales (the original one) was also incredibly funny for other reasons, so.
Also, please just treat lore and the characters with respect. BL3 felt like a fanfic sometimes.
ooooh i loooove ýour no nonsens, to the point and short vid stýle 😄👍
hopefully vertical splitscreen comes back
I have played all of the borderlands games so I will definitely be buying this I just hope they haven't gone woke like so many others
not having a Hawk 2A gun is a swing and a miss
Gameplay gonna be revealed early February with a release date of April 25th
I just hope they change the character design a little or the costume you can unlock look better than how the characters look in the trailer. They look like baristas which is such a drop in unique design vs previous characters like FL4K, psycho or Zero😭
I was a big borderlands fan, 1-2 were my fav, obviously. But BL3 let me down a bit. Hopefully this is way better than BL3
If we can't choose between the time keeper or the bandit queen to work with I'm gonna be disappointed
think i can get through the storyline of all the previous games and dlc before this drops?
“Toilet humor” is why I love borderlands! They just need better jokes than BL3!!!! A Hawk2uah legendary Rocket Launcher would be hilarious!!!!
I'm excited!
I just wanted my boy Krieg to be happy with mia man....
Im hype love borderlands all borderlands they can't do wrong by me cause it's all about gameplay shooting and looting can't be done better than borderlands
It's the war referenced in pre sequel
BL2 Humor
Give us quality loots
Make epic weapons matter too
Give us more trees per character
Give is more characters to max!
Hawk 2A is kinda funny ngl 💀
Personally I can't wait for something new from borderlands.
I hope we can see lilith again
i honestly was really let down by BL3’s vault hunter selection, aside from Flak. atleast BL4 i see atleast 2 im interested in
(pls bring back Krieg)
"Most ambitious" =/= "best"
