- This is a simple and short video showing the difference in process between Electroless Nickel and Silvering to coat Plastics/3D printed parts to make them conductive for further electroplating or as final aesthetic coat

Thank you so much for such useful information!
I was looking into this, but the caswell stuff is SO expensive I feel normal electroplating would b easier. Do you know what exact chemicals I could buy generically? Degreaser I got. I'm not sure how / what reducer to get or how to get the nickel solution (is it just the same as the electrolyte you would use in electroplating?)
Trying to find how much to use of the different things has been impossible as well.
It will depend on the Final Goal that you are trying to achieve. Aesthetics? Functional? What are you trying to coat?

Здравствуйте .можете ли вы дать химические формулы
Can we do this on steel, iron, and other materials?
It's Normal Electroless Nikel so it can be applied to properly cleaned, Steel/Iron, Nickel, Cobalt and their alloys. With the help of Contact plating one can plate over Copper, Gold, Silver by making them come in contact with an iron hanger. It's
How thick or durable is the coating
Electroless nickel plates at an approx. rate of 1 mil (1/1000") per hour
@@nicamarvin Thank-you
Do you also make your own solutions?
I used to, but was not as consistent as an off the shelf solution.
So can you guide me from where to buy this
Would also like to know.
@@rahuls190 In the USA it's called Caswell Electroless Nickel

This video does not say anything about doing it only shows final effect. Useless.
I can further help you if you have any questions about the process not shown in the Video. Just ask away. You can also email me with questions at nicamarvin2005@yahoo.com and I have a formula that I purchased from Russia I can share. The video I posted only shows the chemicals from Caswell Plating but if you would like to build your own formula(it's quite complex but doable).
Than you@@nicamarvin
