I found your channel probably about 10/11 years ago looking for answers to Calvinism and content other than calvinistic teaching. The internet had very little non-calvinist resources. You've been a tremendous help to me for over a decade! Thanks Leighton!
as a registered Libertarian who didnt vote for the Libertarian on the ticket (I voted for Trump for the first time yesterday ) this map has too much gold on it 😂
many have prayed for Trump's safety but Nothing is safer than being a son of the Lord by believing in His beloved Son Jesus Christ so i have prayed for Trump to be brought by the Father to the Son that he may be saved in Jesus Christ's name
He is president now, so no matter who you voted for, we must pray for him for use to have a peaceful life because we are to respect authority or be put in jail. Just don't let authority for you to disobey GOD and His word.
For Warren, in regards to the "they're eating the cats and dogs" being a lie, but you seeing body cam footage of the event. The claim Trump made was Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio we're eating pets. You can find the police report and footage from the station, and that was an American citizen in Canton, Ohio (with drug addiction problems) eating the cat. That was more an indicator that Ohio has some massive drug problems (as an Ohioan, I can confirm that's true in my area), rather than the migrants eating pets.
LOVE you brothers! ❤ Beautiful to see Americans doing as the Lord desires and, exercising their free choice and decision this election day 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸 Praying for you guys to reach even more people with your channels this year!
The Amish voted this year. At the 1:18:00 mark you talk about which areas are doing better. The republican areas. I heard in an interview with some amish people and they said people are moving into conservative areas and out of liberal areas. They said that they are voting based on that for Trump.
I wish that Trump was stronger against abortion. That said, more peace in the world and free speech are huge issues for me after seeing how quickly those things went down hill here and around the world under Biden and Obama.
Good question about urban areas being more left leaning. I have a few thoughts - obviously the better educated tend to live in cities, the ones who've been through the indoctrination of hard left universities. But also I think people in higher density living are more susceptible to left wing group think, and out of touch with reality.
I've lived rural and urban. Many urban people are very in touch with reality. Urban reality. Many rural people are in touch with reality. Rural reality. City and rural life are very different (I imagine that is particularly true in the mega cities). The political issues, knowledge gaps, group think, etc. vary based on where you are.
I know a guy that God used to defeat the enemies of Israel who habitually broke his vows to God, was a womanizer and lied frequently. His name is Samson and he ended up in the hall of faith. Sometimes when you are dealing with the Philistines you need a Samson.
1:10:20 AMEN, Warren. We're not a Democracy. Democracy offers no protection for the minority. Our founders hated Democracies. I saw a survey that 4 out of 5 prefer democracy. 😎Point to be made; it's the Democrat party, NOT the Democratic party as they prefer to be called.... that does matter. Some 'founders' quotes re; Democracy; “A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where 51% of the people may take away the rights of the other 49%”...Thomas Jefferson “Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.”…. John Adams “Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch, Liberty is a ell-armed lamb contesting the vote.” …Benjamin Franklin “We are a Republican government. Real liberty is never found In despotism or in the extremes of democracy.”…Alexander Hamilton "You must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place, oblige it to control itself. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance, and a people who mean to be their own governors, must arm themselves with the power knowledge gives. Democracy is the most vile form of government."... James Madison “Pure democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security, or the rights of property; and have, in general, been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths.” - James Madison, Federalist 10, 1787"
@idolkiller I kind of understand what ur saying about the republicans not reflecting every value of ours. I would say I’m more conservative than the conservatives.
Calvinists are taught to mis-define Sovereignty to mean "meticulous determination". They use the term for its rhetorical value and it "works" on those who aren't paying attention.
I was wondering where that opening came from haha. I highly enjoyed it. Leighton, do you know of a website like The Gospel Coalition or Desiring God, but is not full of Calvinists and Calvinist influenced articles? If there isn't one, it could be really cool to make one.
1:14:16 and following. Interesting discussion on why urban areas are more liberal. I think the thought of being closer to nature and to God is part of the answer. The Bible speaks of the laws of sowing and reaping. It also speaks of a good tree bearing good fruit and a bad tree bearing bad fruit. Notice these are agricultural ideas with spiritual implications. God ordained sequences and consequences. There is a sequence of lusts leading to sin leading to death (James 1, Rom. 1 & 6). There is also the sequence of the proclamation of the Word leading to faith leading to salvation (Rom. 10 & 6). People who are more in touch with nature understand the ideas of sequence and consequence. People who live in urban areas tend to lose that. They think food comes from the store. Or that they do not need to bear the consequences of their bad choices. I think that there are values learned by being in touch with nature that carry through into one's spiritual views and their political views. And certainly, being in touch with the God of nature will affect one's world view.
If you were picked before, then why the elaborate painful living existence. HE could have just skipped it and put us all in heaven, and those HE doesn't want in hell and be done with it. That makes it a play performed to the script with no improvisation at all lines for word for word.
Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Romans 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. Romans 13:3 For rulers.... How do we make sense of this verse then? Which seems to be speaking God ordains rulers
I don’t have any scripture to give, but I’ll say that God himself helped millions of slaves rebel against the authority of pharaoh, and during the time Paul wrote romans, they were rebelling against a government that did not want Christ being preached.
@MrTheguywithalife the Romans only cared for peace not some fables the Jews preached, Paul had primary issues with unbeliving jews not the goverment. Also when Goverments goes against the law of God then we are not to follow them as in the case of Daniel in Babilon. My question i still the same as previously posted.
Even in a democracy, we don't get to choose the government - God does. Read 1 Samuel 2:7-8; Job 12:18-19; Psalm 75:6-7; Isaiah 10:5-8; 45:1; Daniel 2:21; 4:17, 32. In a democracy, God gives us the opportunity through voting (or not) to reveal _our_ hearts, just as He does for everyone else. Instead of politicising the church and compromising the Gospel in the process, Christians in democracies would do better taking time to consider why God chooses the leaders He installs over them. They should honor those leaders personally (not just the offices they hold) and obey them (provided they don't _require_ people to disobey His laws), per Matthew 22:17-21; Romans 13:1-7; 1 Timothy 2:1-3; 1 Peter 2:13-17, etc. Above all, they should pray for them (1 Timothy 2:1-2) - even when their policies are hostile to godly people (Matthew 5:44; Luke 6:28).
Not from the Calvinist/Determinist point of view, but I've heard it explained regarding God appointing governments, that in the US, God appointed that "We The People" are to be in charge and our government. In a Constitutional Republic like ours, the government works for US. And it is an abdication of our God given We responsibility to hold them accountable. If they stray it is our own fault. In the last 100yrs Christians were asleep at the switch, literally encouraged by pastors to be disengaged... creating a vacuum in our own government which was filled by evil men. I'm so amused to hear Christians look around and complain "how die we get here".🤦🏻♂ Remember, it was the Black Robe Regimen, made up of preachers, many were Calvinist, which was responsible for planting the seeds of freedom which spawned the American Revolution. I've heard Calvinists say the Revolution was unbiblical, yet those men who experienced it first hand (including Calvinists) pretty much all proclaimed it was God's Providence which was responsible for defeating an ungodly King.
other than those Calvinists who think a woman shouldn't do anything, no one on the right cares what is between her legs. It's about what is between her ears.
Warren, 1:30:00... Sorry, I take issue with you expressing apparent ambivalence to your children about who actually would win. I know your heart's in the 'right place' for the nation, but do you really believe an anti-God administration in power would be equally beneficial to the nation as one embracing more Godly principals as it it doesn't matter who wins??? No offense, you know I love you bro, but seriously, you gave that as an example to your kids?🤦🏻♂

@@IdolKiller that's isn't logic if you have been keeping up with his debates since James white you would see the reason for my comments, he constantly misrepresents Calvinism, but instead if actually looking into what we believe it's always God doesn't love us.. and emotional arguments that get nowhere. Yeah!! Another one aiming to be consistent!
It’s not the lesser of two evils. We’re voting for good versus evil. We’re not voting for perfect versus evil.
I have observed how Calvinism and determinism impacts people's prayer lives. 😢

If God’s not in total control, then why do we pray for him to do things for or with other people, like bringing a family member to salvation.
Calvinists are too galvanized to understand how God's sovereignty and human responsibility plays in politics.
Calvinists are taught to mis-define Sovereignty to mean "meticulous determination". They use the term for its rhetorical value and it "works" on those who aren't paying attention.

What is a demonic overtone?
you mean the blasphemy of leading Calvinist teachers?
Bro is your whole life based on calvinism?
By that logic, you being here means your whole life is based on @Soteriology101. That can't be right
Maybe it was predetermined to be so, that his whole life will be based on Calvinism. Did God pretermine it?
