This is one of my favorite Quake experiences. I like all the games, but I have the closest connection to Quake 2 because I grew up with the PS1 version... Ironically that is the only version not on here, which I hope it is added in someday, but damn, I had a hell of a good time with this. Call of the Machine was fun, cause what can I say? I like machines that make evil things, and the environments here looked pretty good. While some stretches of combat are pretty brutal, it is generous with healing items to compensate, and even when I got stuck not knowing where to go, the inexhaustable compass item really helped with that, just like in the other campaigns. I find it kind of amusing that the makers of this campaign were basically like "Quake 2 was DEFINITELY part of the Quake 1 canon! See? The Stroggs conquered their planet! ... Or was it from another dimension, actually? Well, point is, here's a Shambler! Connected. Heh heh..."
This expansion is hard as balls and requires proper planning and weapon selection for fights else you will often find yourself low on ammo when fights gets heated
This expansion is actually better than the original and other expansions like ground zero or reckoning. Quake 64 is a bit shit to be honest. in the order of best to worst, call of the machine > Quake 2 Original > Ground zero > the reckoning > Quake II 64

Made the final bosses look so easy, been struggling with the Servitors at the end! Wish there was more after that! Great campaign!!
Best game ever.
No best but top best game
