@Eugenia-Edo I've done intermittent fasting for a while. Granted I didn't adjust my diet, only the window that I gave myself for food which is probably why my acne remained unaffected. However, I would suggest you use an 8 hour window for eating, somewhere between 3-4 hours after waking up is when you'd start, and stop at about 2-3 hours before you go to bed, depending on how long you sleep. So when you're fasting, you cab still drink water, coffee, and tea, but no juice or sugar, milk, etc. I also heard that you shouldnt break the fast woth both carbs and fats. Its better to break it with either carbs and protein, or fats and protein. I cant remember the details but it had something to do with how carbs and fats are stored when taken together after a fast. I would encourage you to do a lot of research before hand as well as to consult your doctor and have a blood test before you start. Hope that helps!

Not really. Insulin triggers the making of other hormones. It just affects tissues differently, for some it hits the ovaries and for others the kidneys or thyroids. So unfortunately insulin is the main culprit of almost every issue we get within our body, they just have different names but the main cause is insulin
Hi Dr I have had a scan for PCOS and other problems and had all my hormones tested, everything was normal accept my testosterone levels are high also my free roaming testosterone blood levels were very high . Because I'm on warfarin have a mechanical heart valve treatment options are very limited. Do you have any advice
So I went to the Gyno, got lab work and turns out I have this but they kept emphasizing high dhea levels. Does anyone know what that means ??? They have ruled out PCOS since it’s not coming from my reproductive system and I don’t have endometriosis.
I’ve been drinking spearmint tea and using progesterone cream and got my cycle back but my free T actually increased to 9 yet my regular testosterone stayed the same. Why did this happen?
Can a woman have insulin resistance and in the same time be severely underweight? That’s my gf. She has a couple of signs of high testosterone (dark hair on the body, oily skin, chin acne, mood swings) but sometimes she barely eats through the day, sometimes she fasts like 10-12 hours but not on purpose.
I’m 16 years old and I have really hairy arms and acne, my doctor told me to get tested for high testosterone. I’m really nervous bc I read that high T could cause infertility, could this happen to me? If my levels are high, will I be able to do something about it? Like pills or something???
not a professional but knowing what I know about transgender ppl and hormones, trans men who take testosterone can still get pregnant even though they have higher testosterone levels. If they come off hormones their levels return to estrogen dominant or levels typical of a cis woman. Trans woman take estrogen and perhaps that is an option for you if it's recommended by a doctor. As long as there are no underlying complications with your reproductive system you probably have nothing to worry about regarding infertility. I'm sure there's a solution to get your hormone levels right!
Yes it probably will. You most likely have PCOS which causes infertility Get started learning about ketogenic diet. That will help a lot. But the hair overgrowth is rly not affected by anything. There is a pill called Spirolactonone that is effective but as soon as u go off it, the hair comes right back so it doesn’t fix anything. You will also prob develop scalp hair loss. Again, no fix. It seems once the hair overgrowth on face n body & scalp hair loss goes nuts, it can’t be stopped again.
@@alexrose20 Sadly, many trans find they’ve screwed up their hormones pretty bad, messing with them pharmaceutically. Their stories are suppressed by those who have only self interest at stake.
Thank you so much, this video was extremely insightful! One question I'm unclear on- a young women with off the charts high testosterone, normal/low DHEA, and off the charts low levels of both estradiol and progesterone- assuming a healthy weight and lifestyle, do these levels correlate with any of the potential root causes mentioned in this video? If so, what does it indicate?
Hi doctor so I do have all these symptoms excepti don't have hair on face or alot of hair I I actually loosing hair in top of my head my blood work said my testesterone is high so do you think I have pcos ?
If soy acts as an estrogen in the body would it take up estrogen sites and block your own excess estrogen or would it just cause more free estrogen in the body? Would phosphatidylcholine help with balancing the hormones?
Im 17 i would say some of the symptoms aline with mine but i struggle to gain weight, i do face hair fall in crown and the front part ,acne yes, excess body hair growth sure....im not allowed to take any supplements for these so can anyone suggest some natural things perhaps?
I tried telling my doctor about these and she just said I’m Latina and that’s why all this happens. but my sisters are not like this. She didn’t listen to me so idk what to do.
I’m Middle eastern so I understand you. If you get hungry very often, no matter what or how much you eat, get tired easily and have belly fat you will most likely have insulin resistance. Trying is for free, so you should get started with walking at least 30-45 mins a day, eating low glycemic foods and staying away from simple sugars, this doesn’t mean low carb, but just beans instead of rice etc, no snacking because every time you eat something even if it’s just a grape, your insulin will be triggered , so just stick to 2-3 main meals a day, maybe you’ll see an improvement after a while because it does take time for your body to recover :)
My testosterone is very high because I took 50mg of DHEA. The reason I started taking is lt is because my DHEA Testosterone was very low. If I stop taking the DHEA now will that lower my levels? Should O perms tell stop taking it?

Hi doctor I’m a 28 years old women i have body hair I get test for PCOS for two times and my test results come negative I’m pregnant with 5 months and I grow belly hair what should I do
A lot of women grow belly hair without having high testosterone levels. If you’re healthy and your hormones are balanced then your body hair could just be genetics. If it bugs you a lot then you can get laser hair removal on those areas.
Hi , When i stoped my birth control pills I started losing my hair like so bad , it has been a month that I take it back and it is much better now . I have high testosterone. this info is helpful. My gyn said my testosterone is very high due to which am not getting pregnant. She wants me to take birth control for six months n I do not want to do it. I have been taking metformin and gummies. Am not sure what else I can do to get pregnant n balance my testosterone.
Low carb diet. Losing weight if that's an issue. Both times I conceived naturally I was on keto diet and lost weight. Saw palmetto, vitex and msn can help.
I never got pregnant in my past with very high testo but once I wanted to gain curves and researched. I found chasteberry was successful for many too skinny testo girls. So I took it maybe 2 weeks and higher doses, everything else was same, diet full of carbs, I was partying also and depressed. But I got pregnant first time in my life just after 2 weeks taking it. I even bought SoS pill because my partner wasn't ready for that. So I went to gyn and did all those tests. I still had PCOS which was leaking. One thing what healed my PCOS was Nuvaring, physical birthcontrol, looks like circle and you need insert that inside vag. Right now I don't use this anymore, Im taking fenugreel capsules, NAC and spearmint tea and eating blood type diet.

If you have high DHEAS please find an alternative pill to go on. Loestrin is high in androgens and can cause more hair growth and scalp hair loss. Anything with Levonorgestrel, norgestrel and Loestrin - which progestin I cant remember are high in androgens. If you need the pill to help with symptoms there are better ones to go on if you must.

This good dr speaks too fast for exhausted me,, but my research otherwhere shows it has to do with our mothers' state during pregnancy: their feelings= hormones=child's hormones. Stress, unhappiness, unresolved childhood trauma in the mum will make her high in Testosterone and Cortisol, i if I got it right (Dr Melillo about causes of Aspergers-Autism, which I have), and the child will thus be likely to get it too, and be extra sensitive to stress therefore. I have been wondering why I have hairy extremities and small breasts, and a certain masculine feeling despite being feminine, but Asperger women are less feminine than neurotypicals, f ex typically not overly interested in working hard on appearance, hairstyle + nails, haha.and more scientific approach. Listen to Dr John Bergman or another corrective chiropractor of ur liking: The 1st thing is , which Dr Melillo also states, to check your nervous sýstem functioning. Goes for ALL ppl. It steers hormones and organ functions that produce etc the hormones! And if u're lucky enough to live in USA, where they are...in my country= not good chiropractors. Birth C pill is bad for health, cancer etc, side effects= detriomental effects, as all precription drugs do. See a natural hormone balancer instead, itcosts a bit but is so worth it. I need personal assistence w daily life before I can be helped physiacally.
Hi, I have been trying to compare my labs results to your examples and I'm confused. Mine says Testosterone total 20 Testosterone free 1.6 normal ranges from quest labs seem higher
Lab results not reliable, and the may not test what needs/u want to have tested. F ex blood test says nothing about level in tissue/cells, and one can hav inflammation eating up the body severely without it showing on ordinary test and if the good Dr doesn't know that some patients never get more than elevated but never high result of the sinking reaction, no matter how bad their inflammation.. one is done. Better to invest in a goood Nutrition therapist or complementary, alternative Dr or corrective chiropractor. And if one optimizes lifestyle, habits, heal old feelings, hormones balance by themselves...!They are very influenced by feelings, not least old, childhood subconscious ones.
In addition to a low carbs + sugar diet , I definitely recommend Intermittent Fasting and even prolonged fasting to balance hormones, decrease insulin, sport and meditation.

Great Video thanks for publishing. You could slow down no need to rush so much, but otherwise very helpful.
Thx
I like how quickly you roll through the points
I have hoshimoto's and pcos! so how did that happen?
Nicole Shaffer I
Thanks!
You can slow down the video speed if it's too quick! Sorry about that.
Can it be the other way around? Can high testosterone create insulin resistance
Could you give me some insight
I'm 22 yr old and grow excessive dark hair all over my body. I brought up to doctor that i might high testosterone (125.51) . What can i do doctor?
I need a Dr like you! Ugh
So I went to the Gyno, got lab work and turns out I have this but they kept emphasizing high dhea levels. Does anyone know what that means ??? They have ruled out PCOS since it’s not coming from my reproductive system and I don’t have endometriosis.
Look into forms of congenital adrenal hyperplasia
Thank you very much
Welcome!
I’ve been drinking spearmint tea and using progesterone cream and got my cycle back but my free T actually increased to 9 yet my regular testosterone stayed the same. Why did this happen?
My a1c was 5.4 , and I've had gestational diabetes . Does this make me fall into insulin resistance
Okay so I listen to your video how do I find out what is causing my high testosterone?
How do i find out what's causing my high testosterone levels please?
What if you have elavated total and normal free T?
thats how my labs are. What did your doc say about it?
You most likely have PCOS which causes infertility
Get started learning about ketogenic diet.
Insane amount of information in under a half hour. 😧
Isn't Sglt-2 inhibitors, glycosurics
So how can it be under insulin sensitizing medications.
Insulin and glucose are not the same thing. Not sure I understand the question.
I have mostly all of these symptoms but I've been losing weight like crazy... does this discount me from being high testosterone?
Amira yeah you Don't have to have all thé symptômes
How? Lol
No, you can still have testosterone issues and be a normal weight.
@@drwestinchilds im like that doctor.
Hi doctor so I do have all these symptoms excepti don't have hair on face or alot of hair I I actually loosing hair in top of my head my blood work said my testesterone is high so do you think I have pcos ?
Omg this had help me so much! Thank you for educating us.
If soy acts as an estrogen in the body would it take up estrogen sites and block your own excess estrogen or would it just cause more free estrogen in the body?
Would phosphatidylcholine help with balancing the hormones?
If it acted on the estrogen receptors then it would stimulate estrogen function in the cells without having an impact on free estrogen.
Dr. Westin Childs that’s so good to know, thank you for your response!
Im 17 i would say some of the symptoms aline with mine but i struggle to gain weight, i do face hair fall in crown and the front part ,acne yes, excess body hair growth sure....im not allowed to take any supplements for these so can anyone suggest some natural things perhaps?
Does sex or masturbation raise endrogens or sex drive is caused by them ?
I tried telling my doctor about these and she just said I’m Latina and that’s why all this happens. but my sisters are not like this. She didn’t listen to me so idk what to do.
Lol that combined with birth control is a problem
Hi dr I am a new subscriber thanks you for yr informative video 🙏🏻 I just turned 50 this year and my blood test result shows high Dheas but normal testosterone but low estrogen n low progesterone so what is causing high dheas I would appreciate if u could answer my question thank you
What if you have normal range free t4 but a very high testosterone level
Can a decade of inhaled corticosteroid use cause issues?
I have high SHBG but low DHEA🤔🤔
It’s all in the food....Change your diet!!
But I don’t want it to be my only solution ... what can I do if I want my level of androgène testosterone to be back at its normal level as before ?
Thank you
Question, I have high testosterone levels due to insulin resistance, how long does it take to get rid of or is it a life long issue? I don’t know what to avoid besides maybe carbs and eat a Keto diet?
If you can drop your insulin it should help your testosterone :)
Dr. Westin Childs you’re videos are such help! I love your channel! Thank you soo soo much! I’m going to try and do a low carb diet, avoid refined sugar and see if that helps! Your a cutie by the way! Xx
Please is. There results because im struggling with the same of what you had said in the comment
Does vitamin d take cause high testosterone in female?
Dose stress elevate testosterone
Yes it definitely can. It affects the adrenals and can stimulate testosterone.
Hi there I was wonder I’m a really athletic 21 year old and do a lot of long distance marathon running and weight training . I noticed the hairs on my
Arm began to get quite dark and then my skin was getting really bad around my chin so I guessed it was hormonally. I was put on birth control but now I think maybe I had high testosterone levels because a month on the pill and my arms are back to normal. Wondering to myself what might have caused this considering I have a healthy life style. Is over training a cause ?
Make sure you test your hormone levels first to determine if they are the main issue.
M unmarried female aged 23.....my prolactin level is 35 Ng and high testorene level.....have small cyst of 1.75 cm in left ovary....what should I include in n my diet....can I eat soyabean.
I have mostly all these symptoms but I've got shrinking breasts and the one has shrunk a lot, problems with my teeth and I can't tilt my head back as my neck is in pain and it feels like my neck is stretching.
I don't think your neck pain is related to your testosterone. The best place to start is with some serum lab tests.
Same problems especially with the shrinking breasts. Have you found a solution? How are you feeling now?
Hello sir ..my testosterone levels is high but female Dr told me don't take medicine..when you will conceive baby this time your testosterone levels normal...sir my question is it's true ....
No I've had two children and it's not reduced it. In fact high testosterone in women can prevent conception.
I have been losing my hair for years and it's now showing on my scale. Comes out in long strands, a lot. I'm not gaining weight. I'm only 101 and keep weight off....I ear high fat and low carbs, no sugars in any form (no fruit) . Not sure what my issues are. Should I not worry about high Testosterone or DHT?
Go buy saw palmetto. It treats high testerone. I hv thinning hair n chin hair n started taking saw palmetto. Reseach it. Its a herb.
dbedazzling1 doesnt work
@@bluejean-1968 I have PCOS. Nothing herbal/diet wise affects hirsutism or scalp loss. I’ve used and done it all. Saw palmetto included.
You can change ur fertility and lose weight. You can help ur acne and dark patches.
But the person that figures out how to stop facial n body hair overgrowth will make a zillion dollars.
my dr informed me that i had high dhea sulfate levels. i gave excess hair, acne, and the hard to lose belly weight. He prescribed me birth control (loestrin) but i want to be able to try for children in the near future is there any other alternative other than birth control? Another pill? or ?
If you have high DHEAS please find an alternative pill to go on. Loestrin is high in androgens and can cause more hair growth and scalp hair loss. Anything with Levonorgestrel, norgestrel and Loestrin - which progestin I cant remember are high in androgens. If you need the pill to help with symptoms there are better ones to go on if you must.
Ive started lowering mine with a supplement from my naturopath and everytime I take it I cry and I cry and I feel like shit and have high anxiety so wtf is that about
What supplement is it
i have acne mostly along the jaw (also some on my chest and back), i have been exercising/eating relatively well for the past year and still haven’t lost much weight, i lose a lot of hair during the shower, and have low libido. i go to the dermatologist this week for my acne. should i bring this up as an issue to him? aka would he be able to give a better solution for my acne or should i just talk to my doctor about it?
and i’m not too overweight to being with so maybe that isn’t even connected
Same, with me, i not overweight with the same symptoms. And acne in chest back and jaw, i am researching for hormonal imbalance and trying to cure it by supplements
Can it make my eyelashes fall out?
Mine have and I was just tested yesterday! I forgot to mention that at the dr...sucks I had beautiful long lashes b4
Dr. My testosterone level is 0.135 ng.. Is it too high? Pls help me to understand 😭😭😭
Not familiar with testosterone in those units.
As per my knowledge, 0.135 ng is simply 135 pg. It's high, as the Total Testosterone reference level for a woman should be under 70 pg , as in 0.70 ng
Wait so during menstruation there's more testosterone?
Dear sir, I'm 32 years female. my testosterone Harmon is increased in reports. I have problem like hair growth on face and weight gain. my ovaries are ok. please provide your email so that i can send my reports. kindly suggests any treatment. with regards.

These comments are absolutely ridiculous. The best thing you can do is get a really good endocrinologist.
Can overexercise create high testosterone?
Yes, I over Exercise does create high testosterone in females
@@gulyaorazgali7037 Looking for more of an objective answer here rather than an anecdotal one
What is the best way to reduce testosterone level in female?
Having birth control pills or metformin is one of the way?
Fennel seeds, flax seeds
@@Medietoswow very interesting. Thanks for this comment. Never knew something like this could happen
Hi, I have been trying to compare my labs results to your examples and I'm confused. Mine says
Testosterone total 20
Testosterone free 1.6
normal ranges from quest labs seem higher
