Awesome! Thanks so much! I'm getting a FCB1010, which isn't quite the same thing but should get me close. This gives me a lot of ideas of what's a good set of commands to set the buttons/pedals for.

Also stoked about Instalooper. It's been tough to figure out the other loopers and do the same things I'm seeing online. :D

Great demo. Wish the buttons were quieter.

This is absolutely brilliant and I need to do it :). How are you connecting the Midi Maestro to the computer? (I assume you have a dedicated midi interface or ????.

Hey, could you help me to set up the midi Maestro with abelton live 11? I have a problem at the step to select channel, command, value. I understood that the channel is specific for a device - so it is always on 1.
But what about command and value. Is it the same or different for every parameter? And also for the toggle?
How do you connect the midi maestro to the computer/interface? (Midi in or out or both?)
Im so sorry... Im really a beginner with all this, have mi idea about midi- just Hope to find a way to controll the Loop function in abelton with my foot to Loop my harp to make some music with a friend :-)
Would be great if you can answear me!

I'd really like to see the IOS Custom mode. Working with Aeros and 1pad AU's

Nice video - thanks. Do you know if its possible to switch between various custom modes? If not, how do you specify which custom mode is the active one?

I’m curious. How would you use this in say a practical live sense? What I see is you programming the MM to engage your 5-6 loops. Nice but for what reason? Must you bring along your laptop (w/ Ableton) to a gig in order to have it play along with your guitar? I’m asking because I’m a solo guitarist in restaurants whose been working with the BB and now I just bought MM though I don’t have a clear picture in my head about what to do with it creatively speaking.

Hi do you have your midi maestro connected to your computer with bluetooth or 5 pin midi?

Hey Doug.....I am an old due who just turned 60 and not the most fluent when it comes to MIDI. I have a beat buddy and also use Ableton and plan on buying the midi meastro and Aeros looper. Would you be open to give me a couple private Zoom lessons which of course I will pay you for to help me configure some of the custom routing I will need for both the looper and Ableton? If not, do you know anyone who is familiar with Ableton and the singular products? I am sure some musician could use the extra money and it will help this old due get up and running quickly. Thanks!!

OMG! Is it really that easy to program? I have a Nektar Pacer and it’s a nightmare. 😢

Must you bring a laptop w/Ableton (to say a gig/rehearsal) in order to engage your loops within MM? I just got the MM for use with my BeatBuddy but I haven’t thought much about what to do with it and how? BeatBuddy Mode cannot be programmed with iOS at least not yet I think???

Does it accept midi feedback from ableton so the buttons are always showing the correct on or off visual feedback?

    • @DougHanson
      @DougHanson  3 роки тому +1

No, you need to program it to say the commands that you want.

@@DougHanson does it ever bug out and display the opposite? And I guess you would have to check that all functions are aligned at the start of the set?

Thanks, Doug! This is perfect. I am switching to a Midi Maestro from a Morninstar Engineering MC8 because I switched to a Helix and the primary pedal I will be controlling are my BeatBuddy and Aeros looper. First, I can't believe you need to push a button on the back of the unit to change modes. Couldn't they have accomplished that with a foot switch command? Is that an option. Second, I also used my midi controller to control Ableton, but I just programmed it to emulate the Ableton keyboard commands. Do you know if that is possible? Cheers! Bill

Hey Bill, thanks for the support! You can switch between BB, Aeros, and a custom mode by pressing the bottom-left and bottom-center buttons at the same time. But you can only load 1 custom mode at a time. And as far as I know, the keystroke commands you’re mentioning aren’t possible with the Midi Maestro.

Cool but how do you hook up midi maestro to your PC? With USB to midi cable? My PreSonus Studiolive mixer/interface has no midi connections, would you go from the maestro to the PC or from my Aeros loopstudio? I use Studio One 6 pro, and I want to be able to start stop loops I've recorded to SO6 showpage, I have other gear that work as interface's like Helix rack that has midi in, out/thru. Probably a dumb question but I'm a musician not a audio tech engineer.
