I had a 26ft ply Nichol in Oz back in 80's. Best speed was 12 knots but lived and cruise 1000k from Cooktown to Sydney for a year - miss that boat still
We left Catalina Island the same day the transpacific ocean race started. We weren’t racing but it was fun to have the transpacific fleet fleet around us for comparison. Our crossing took almost 12 days exactly. We always weighed safety over performance; Reefing sails at night and only flying spinnaker in comfortable weather.
Seems a 30’ ish is his the go, still legally trailered without a permit (I think one model goes 9’.6”’ wide) Looking atm, mono nice but slooow and cats just nah.
I will be getting more information up soon. It was a challenging crossing for sure. The wind and ocean swell didn't relent but the boat perservered. Mahalo!
@@CruisetheIsland your clips and editing are great, perhaps you could tell us some stories about challenges you encountered or what you learned about your F-31.
Awesome video, we just purchased a 2020 Corsair 880 Sport, absolutely love and its wicked fast, our home base is Key Largo, Florida...
Enjoyed that ! Thanks for sharing. Love me some F Boats !
Nice. Keep it coming. Fellow C-31uc owner.
🤩thats what sailing looks like

12 days?! Just wow!!

Performance Sailing .... EXCUSIONS? not sure what that means...
Good catch. It should say "Excursions", haha. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the video.
What speeds do you get up to on these?
On my F28R, your advised not to sail faster than 32 Kt. Could be faster for a F31.
How much can you store in the floaters?

My thought exactly! Corsair created something special with the folding system and any bigger than the F-31 makes an extra wide load on the roads.
@@CruisetheIsland It was Ian Farrier's folding system and boat design.
RIP Ian. F-9A owner/builder here.
It’s funny how every video you see where a tri is passing mono’s as if they’ve stopped are all F9a’s... You can’t waterski behind a cat or mono;)
Why, what's wrong with cats?
@@ianrkav nothing, tri’s in general, are faster. Still i’d take a marsaudon over a tri.
Please share more info about your journey across the pacific.. i got an F-Boat Too but there is no too much info about this boats in open ocean.

I'm pretty sure the 31' were made for ocean crossings.. should be fine.

No, no, no. This is an advertisement, noninformational, infomercial. Semicute music, otherwise worthless. Yuck, ick. How about some real information?
I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the video. I'm a real person and I read the comments. What would you like to see or know about my pacific crossing?
