They don't have baby hair products for type 4 curls or courser hair (at least I have not found) so I really like your idea of stepping your baby's hair care routine up to the Shea Moisture Kids line. I I'm going to try this for my 10-month-old son! Thank you so much for this video (btw she is adorable)💕
Hi Dorikah! Sorry for the late reply. Yes! You have to use your best judgement on what products work best for your baby! Hopefully these products will work well for you. My baby is now 13 months, and we are still using them! And you are very welcome! Thank you so much for watching.

She is too cute. She favors my daughter, she's only 2mos. But they look like twins. My oldest daughter said aww she looks just like the baby lol. I use the virgin coconut oil as well, but I might have to try this product on my baby.

Beautiful baby girl! My daughters hair looks identical to your daughters! Mine is almost 7 months old and I had just been using shea moisture baby shampoo and black castor oil. I think it's time to move on up to kids products, because her hair is a bit dry the next day after washing. At what age did you start this routine for your daughter?
Aww! Thanks Mia. Our babies are close in age! I switched her over to the kids line when she was about 4 months or so, but I only started with the spray and butter cream first, I was still using the baby shampoo. I didn't use the shampoo/conditioner until a little bit later. But you can definitely start whenever since you notice her hair being dry. Give it a try and let us know how you like it!
I’m glad she said that. I messaged you before in the other video about your baby lol. Mine turned 7 months on the 6th of this month and I just noticed her hair getting dry and frizzy after her hair wash day.. do you think I should keep using her baby shampoo or upgrade to the kids shampoo? Along with the other items to hold her curls and not be dry and frizzy the next day 😩
@@Justriyahslocs what did you end up using? My foster baby is almost 6 months and her hair has started getting very dry all the sudden (I’ve been using the same things for months - Noodle and boo shampoo 1-2x a week, “wash” with N&B conditioner 1-2x a week and after shampoo, Knot Today detangler after bath and with water on non-wash days.)
Thank you for this video. I was really looking for the video of how you follow up with moisture to keep her hair moisturised, but I didn't see it. Please can you share some tips on how to follow up? Because that's the issue I have with my 10 months old baby.
what age would you say this is appropriate? my daughter has really tight curls and hair like your daughters and it gets really dry but she's only 4 months
I apologize for the late reply, but I started to change my daughter's products around that age as well, she was about 4-5 months old. If you feel like you are needing to switch over due to dryness, then you can certainly try this routine now (although your baby is older now, lol).
Thank you. How often do you do this? And how early did you start putting these products in her hair? I have a 9-month old mixed baby and trying to figure out the good routine for her.
Hi Yuliia! You are very welcome. I did this about once a week but a lot of the time it went over that amount of days just depending on our schedule. With these products, I started using them when she was about 4 months old because the products I used when she was a baby were not enough moisture for her. Definitely give it a try to see how they work for you!
Hey Ashanti! I started doing this when my baby was a little older. I have another video specifically for newborn hair care. That should help you a ton! I started that routine when she was around 1-2 weeks old.
Hi I have 8 month old boy girl twins. They are mixed race their Dad is full Cameroonian and I am half English, half Iraqi. My boy has pretty much 4c hair, and lots of it and my girls is around 3a, 3b and its basically fine at the moment and more sparse. I have wavy hair so I'm new to all of this! How do you think their routines would differ? I was thinking to buy Shea Moisture shampoo and conditioner for both of them but just apply coconut oil to my boy for now? Should I also wash his a little less than the girl? Thanks so much for your info by the way it's actually hard to find advice online! 🙏😊
Hi Samira! I am so sorry for my late reply. I can not speak on 3a or 4c texture since I have haven't dealt with this before. However, find what works best for you! Even if I did have some experience with that texture, what I do may not work for you. What I have seen is that 4c texture can get drier quicker, so I would stay on top of moisturizing for all. You can absolutely try the routine that I use, but you may have to adjust it to your daughters and sons liking. How old are they? And you are very welcome. It is hard to find advice for kids natural hair online, this is why I am trying to make videos centering this topic to help.
@@blendedfields hey, thanks so much for your response, I literally just saw it! They're both 1 now, I would say my daughter has similar hair to your daughters, and my son pretty much has 4b/afro hair. How should I moisture afro hair in general? For wash day and in-between? With my girl I'm going to so what you said, experiment and see what works, it can get frizzy and she can loose her curl pattern quite quickly but I know that's also down to me not using styling products much I think! And yes, thanks so much for doing this and there really isn't much info xx
My daughter is 7 months old now she has a bald spot in the back of her head and her hair is extremely dry it attracts lint. Would this routine help with both dryness and hair growth?
Hey Cierrah! I actually just wrote this same comment to someone else. I mentioned how it can be normal due to the way babies sleep and the friction that is causes on the back of their head. In person, you can tell that Amori's hair IS thinner in that area, but she didn't lose a lot of hair. I honestly didn't do anything special besides making sure that back area stays well moisturized! You can definitely try this routine to see if it will work for your baby!
Hey Ashley! I'm so sorry your baby is losing hair in the back, but just know that this is normal due to the way babies sleep and the friction that is causes on the back of their head. In person, you can tell that her hair IS thinner in that area, but she didn't lose a lot of hair. I honestly didn't do anything special besides making sure that back area stays well moisturized! I'm sure that you are doing the best that you can! Just know that it WILL grow back!
I have 8 months old babygirl I’m wondering if you recommend doing her hair I usually do her hair everyday (with the little elastic bands) and wash everyday will this damage her curly hair? Thank you for your videos definitely helping me out !(:
Hey Samantha! Yea, you can totally try our method/regimen for you baby to see if it helps. Amori is the same age. I don't think I would recommend washing her hair every daily as that can be drying to the hair. But you can totally add in some moisture (water, oil, or cream) to her hair daily if you feel it's needed. It all boils down to your baby though and how her hair reacts to certain things.
At what age would you start putting a satin bonnet on her? We are fostering a sweet little biracial girl and I want to do the best I can with her hair and skin.
Well my baby’s hair is super dry, maybe I need to do this for him. He’s 3 months and I only use J&J baby shampoo? Don’t know of what oils will work for him.
Hey TyShica! Are you applying anything after the shampoo? If not, definitely try some oils. Whatever oil you like should work fine. We like coconut oil and Jamaican Black Castor Oil. But there are many types, you'll just have to see what works best for you. I also had to change from the baby shampoo to the kids shampoo as it was drying as she got older, so you can look into changing shampoos as well. Let me know how it works for you!
Hi Keisha! You can certainly try to see if these products would work well for you. Although at 3 months, I was still using very minimal products on my daughters hair since newborns don't need a lot of products at that age. I ended up switching over when she was about 4-5 months old, due to dryness.
Hey Antonette! All of the product names are listed in the description box for you! And I also have links of where you can purchase them. But you can also get them at local stores like Target or Walmart.
Hi! They have them on Amazon (which direct links are listed for you in the description box) or I'm sure that you can go to the Shea Moisture website to see if they ship to you!
Hey! I would recommend watching our newborn video for hair washing. I didn't use these products until my daughter was around 4-5 months old because her hair needed more moisture!
There’s no law that says adults/children have to have “curl definition”. There’s no ideal curl pattern/texture. Nor do we need 100’s of products to have healthy hair. Healthy is the goal. And she definitely looks healthy & cute!
Hi there! I didn't start using these products for my daughter until she was a little bit older. I would stick to a more simple routine for younger babies since their hair shouldn't need many products and manipulation.
I love your videos. I had no idea we could use anything else other than J&J or Aveeno at 10 weeks until I saw your first video. I tried the Shea Moisture Baby Calm & Comfort Wash & Shampoo with the Frankincense and Myrrh and my daughter’s hair seems to be drier than when using the J&J no more tears shampoo and has some tangles but I see it’s growing. She may be ready for the Kids line too- she’s 3 months this week. Do you use a bonnet at nighttime?
Aww, thanks!! We appreciate you for watching. And yes! You can totally use other products as long as they are designed for babies in mind. If the Shea Moisture was drying for your baby's hair, then you can stick with the J&J. You have to do what works for you since it's not a one size fits all. Just make sure you're moisturizing after the shampoo! And no, we don't use a bonnet. I keep going back and forth on using one, I'm just afraid of it slipping down onto her face or something when she's sleeping, lol. I know they have baby specific ones but it still makes me nervous.
@@blendedfields just noticed a small patch today- in the back of her head where she sleeps- that looks like cradle cap. It’s weird because she never had cradle cap. 🤷🏾♀️
Aww! Oh no. Are you sure it's cradle cap and not just dry scalp/skin? The back of the head can get dry easily since a lot of babies sleep on their backs. I always have to make sure I put extra oil or moisturizer back there to help. Amori had a mild case of cradle cap but it was on the top of her head. It went away with after a couple washes with Mustella shampoo mousse .
@@blendedfields it’s a small red patch with what looks like flakes (about the size of a dime) so I assumed it was cradle cap. The flakes were soft when I touched them. I got some of the Mustela tonight and will wash her hair tomorrow…we’ll see. I used the SM Coconut Oil you used to moisturize and comb her hair yesterday and didn’t notice the patch or the flakes then, but I saw it today.
@@shugadenson909 Oh okay! Let me know how the shampoo works for you. It may take a couple of washes to get rid of it all. If it doesn't go away, definitely consult with your pediatrician.
Hi, during this age, I did not braid her hair. I love her curly fro so this is what I do most of the time. Now that she's older, I will put ponytails in, but that is about it.
Hi there! I know your comment was a while ago, but I would not recommend these for a newborn baby. I would recommend checking out my newborn hair wash routine for recommendations!
Lawd I’m not looking forward to the hair washing with my daughter 😩😂😂😂😂😂. All my nieces they use to wrestle me 😩when it came to washing and doing their hair 😂
Really wanna start doing this, I’ve just been using Aveeno baby wash/ shampoo and Cetafil baby wash/ shampoo and nothing else. My baby has some flakes in her hair that I think is cradle cap and it’s driving me nuts 😢..
Aww! How old is your baby? Amori had some mild cradle cap when she was younger and I used the Mustela Shampoo Moose for Cradle Cap a couple times and it took it away. So you can try that! It's also important to apply some type of moisture to your baby's scalp and hair after the shampoo. If she's younger, just the oil will work fine, if she older and you think she needs more than oil, you can try this regimen too!
@@blendedfields she’ll be 3 months at the end of September. Can I still use the Mustela shampoo and the shea moisture coconut oil that I see you use on your baby girl?
@@sh.27960 Yes. Absolutely. That's what I did for a couple washes. Once the cradle cap was gone, I switched back to the baby shampoo but I have heard of people using the Mustela shampoo as a normal shampoo too. Just remember to moisture!!
My 1 year old won’t let me do his hair, I comb it out and just put products in it but it gets messy within the hour. I feel like I’m not doing enough and neglecting his hair but he keeps moving his head and pushes my hands away.I’ve tried distracting him with snacks/phone 😢

She's really cute!!!!
Aww. Thank you so much!
Nice video I love the products
Thanks Lilian!! Have you tried the products before?! They are definitely are favorites!
can you use these products on a newborn?
How did you get your baby to not lose hair? My son is losing a lot of his hair in the back 😩
So you used Shea Moisture Baby Products At first ?
Yes!! I have a detailed video that I posted before this one that explains what I did when she was a newborn.
It all boils down to your baby though and how her hair reacts to certain things.
how often do you wash her hair and when you don’t wash her hair what to you do thank you
Hey Gloria! I wash her hair about once a week. Between washes, I reapply water and moisturizer whenever I feel it's needed.
What age did you start putting rubber bands in her hair ??
Pretty baby girl❤❤
Is it tear free shampoo and conditioner?
I am trying to see if it real work because I have a 2 year old daughter
Can I use those products on a 3 months old baby hair?
Hi Keisha! You can certainly try to see if these products would work well for you. Although at 3 months, I was still using very minimal products on my daughters hair since newborns don't need a lot of products at that age. I ended up switching over when she was about 4-5 months old, due to dryness.
My baby two years old I’m tryin grow his hair back
Yes!! Hopefully this routine will work well for you. Let me know how it goes! 😁
I often you do this
@@blendedfields I got den bought all the products I hopefully it works for my baby,
Hi! How did everything go?!
@@blendedfields he still stuck the same hair length I might cut it all off cuz nothin workin for him
What’s the name of the products and brands
Where can I purchase these items
Hey Antonette! All of the product names are listed in the description box for you! And I also have links of where you can purchase them. But you can also get them at local stores like Target or Walmart.
Please am in Ghana where can I get shea moisture products to buy
Hi! They have them on Amazon (which direct links are listed for you in the description box) or I'm sure that you can go to the Shea Moisture website to see if they ship to you!
@@blendedfields thank you dear
Do you think sheamoisture kids is better than Cantu Kids ?
Hi there! I can not say if it is better or not since I have not used the Cantu Kids line.
I wish my 1 yr old could be as calm when I do her hair. My baby screams from start to finish 😩
Oh do not like this video fool you! Lol. My daughter definitely does NOT like getting her hair done, so I am in the same boat as you!
Pls were will I get some to buy
Hi there! All of the products are linked in the description box. You can also find them on Amazon or the Shea Moisture website.
New girl mom here, when do I start using shampoo (not included in baby body wash), conditioner, etc. My LO is 2.5 months old right now
Please how many months old was your baby when this video was done???
Can i use all of these on a 2 months and 8 days old baby???
Shut up and mind your own kids
@@amulenjuliet9925 REALLY?!
Miss me with that internet troll crap and find ya own LIFE!
And it’s STILL true; healthy is the first goal. 😝
beautiful baby..
Thank you 🤗!!
Can I use this for my 2month old baby
Hi there! I didn't start using these products for my daughter until she was a little bit older. I would stick to a more simple routine for younger babies since their hair shouldn't need many products and manipulation.
Can still make baby hair to grown also
I love your videos.
How often do you wash her hair
Hi there! During this time, I washed her hair about once a week.
My baby is 5 months can I start using these products in her hair?
You certainly can, they are safe!
Do braided her hair?
Hi, during this age, I did not braid her hair. I love her curly fro so this is what I do most of the time. Now that she's older, I will put ponytails in, but that is about it.
Is this product chemical free? Because I have a mixed 4yr daughter
It is chemical free
thanks so much...
You are very welcome!! Thanks for watching!
How many months can you start using this on your baby’s hair?
Hi! We started when she was about 4 months old.
I am a new mom Please I want to know if two months baby can use it or three months baby too
Hi there! I know your comment was a while ago, but I would not recommend these for a newborn baby. I would recommend checking out my newborn hair wash routine for recommendations!
Im doing this I was just saying to my son you need moisture in your head😊
Awesome! How did things work out for you?!
Am from Ghana
My 5 month hair is growing and I was like he need to have a conditioner. So I junp in UA-cam

Oh excellent! Hopefully this video was helpful for you!
@@blendedfields yes it is very helpful thank you
Lawd I’m not looking forward to the hair washing with my daughter 😩😂😂😂😂😂. All my nieces they use to wrestle me 😩when it came to washing and doing their hair 😂
What is the name of the product.?how much money

Plz where can I get it
Hey. You can get these at any major store like Walmart or Target. You can also use Amazon, I have links in the description box for you!
What do I do on non wash days??
Hi there! I have a video dedicated to what I do in between wash days! It's called "How To Maintain Natural Hair Between Wash Days"!
@@blendedfields thank you so much .
My 1 year old won’t let me do his hair, I comb it out and just put products in it but it gets messy within the hour. I feel like I’m not doing enough and neglecting his hair but he keeps moving his head and pushes my hands away.I’ve tried distracting him with snacks/phone 😢
Maybe you should look for fast hair growth fortified shampoo to double hair growth.
Thanks for watching!
Exact name of shampoo please
Nice job.. how old is your girl?
Thank you! She is 8 months old right now. In the video she was a little over 7 months old.
Thank you❣️
You are very welcome! Glad I could help!
Beautiful 💕
Thank you so much Brittany! We appreciate you watching!
Suggestion: talk about fast hair growth fortified shampoo.
Thanks for watching!
How often do you wash
Hi there! About once a week at this point, but sometimes it can be a little longer now that she's older.
