My, my, this brings back the halcyon days of the 1950s. Our family of four used to crowd round the wireless to listen, even though I and my brother were only young urchins (me 9 or 10, brother 3 years younger). We all thoroughly enjoyed it.
It was on this show, as a kid, that I became a fan of the great talent that was June Whitfield. Sadly missed. If anyone should be known as an iconic actor, it is June God Bless her
Fabulous series of recorded Glums. Thank you so much for creating this opportunity to listen again to the brilliant writing of Frank Muir and Denis Norden. Many thanks.
The Glums were SO funny. Some of the gags were absolutely inspired plays on words. I am 71, but remember my mother and father shrieking with laughter at the antics of the Glums.

Thank you for this. Groundbreaking.
Very amusing. Tip Top
FYI - The picture is L - R - Wallis Eaton,Jimmy Edwards, June Whitfield & Dick Bentley
I don't think I could offer an opinion on that, Eth. I've never shankled.
I always found Take It From Here funnier than the Goons. I used to listen to it religiously.
RIP Denis Norden
Puts today's smarty-pants smart arse so-called 'comedians' to shame RIP June
RIP June :(
I love these programs but they have all disapared off UA-cam in the last month or so... Why??
Fantastic comedy; they don't make em' like that any more......more's the pity!
June Whitfield was a right sauce bottle fwooor !
In this picture she is like Theresa May's good looking sister.
It never seems to occur to anyone to ask why the gormless Ron has an Australian accent. But then who cares, it's so funny!

Brilliant. Nothing matches it now. Too full of swearing.
