Just tried making this for my lunch today! I don’t have any Sichuan Pepper but I found a substitute for it which is : peppercorn+coriander seeds+lemon zest I toasted them before grinding them and then I add the lemon zest and salt in the end The end result was so yummy!! Thanks for this recipe :)
I look forward to every single one of your videos. They quite literally make my day. A vacation from the stress and harshness of life. Thank you, Marion. You are so appreciated.
When NYC restaurants closed during the pandemic, I found myself trying out several recipes from your channel to get as close as possible to that take-away flavor (takeout if you're American). In this video, you really demystified how to bring out that tingly flavor of sichuan peppercorns. I love the balance between the upbeat music, ASMR, food nerd trivia, and easy-to-follow steps. Looking forward to more!
Marion, watching you enjoy your own cooking, is inspiring! It makes me want to get into the kitchen and create your masterpieces! You make everything look scrumptious! Thanks for this one, I'm walking into the kitchen now....!
Cooked this last night. My 16 year old son had a bite of the chicken and said it was so delicious that it made him cry. My daughter and I agreed after our first bite .... tears of pure joy!
Doing this tonight. Just going to use white pepper peppercorns instead. I just love the taste of white pepper in Asian cooking. Thanks for the easy recipe.
Hi Marion. Ive tried this chicken recipe last night, only using black.pepper corn and its amazing. My family loved the chicken and they thought i grilled it. Love all your videos Marion.
I have been binging all of your videos and I've made nothing but Marion recipes for the last week. I just made your spicy tuna pasta with deep fried eggs and it was amazing! 🤤
I just made this and OMG! She said this is EPIC she is not joking!! I used chicken breast and pound then out to be thin so I could cook them quick. Follow this to the letter! So so good!!
Thanks for your amazing recipes Marion! I made this last night - so tasty and quick! I love your tips on how to cook your dishes too! It’s been super helpful! Thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰
You need better cookware. I always tell people you need 3 types. A great stainless set, a great cast iron kit, and some ceramic. Do NOT buy the garbage they sell at Walmart.....
This looks amazing!! I'd love to hear your tips on making some of your stir fries or crispy chicken dishes with tofu. I can't seem to get it right, and I'm trying to eat more sustainably this year. I know if ANYONE can make tofu taste good and be easy, it's you. I'm already a better cook just from watching all of your videos. Thank you for always making such beautiful videos with wonderful food!!
Soy is not sustainable. If humans didnt eat it then neither would animals. Grass fed beef and lamb is good for the environment all the animal is used including there blood bone and fecal matter to improve the soil
Thank you for the recipe Marion!! I've had a really happy day shopping for all the ingredients and excited to make this!! It's the little things in life :D
I love how simple your recipes are! I live in a small town in Canada and I can find a lot of the Asian ingredients you use in the import section of my grocery stores. A good portion of the reason I watch you though is how darn cute you look when you are taste testing the food at the end haha. The way you squint your eyes and shimmy your shoulders just gets me. I am currently pregnant with my second child and have been having some serious cravings; I will definitely be making some of your recipes! Specifically your simple ramen noodle soups. My husband thanks you in advance since he does 90% of the cooking. :D
Cooked this dish the 2nd time and it was a success yay! (for a noob like me). Thanks Marion for the recipe :) Made a few adjustments: Reduced the soy sauce & added more sweet dark soy sauce for the marinade (1st time cooked it was too salty for my liking). Added more Schezuan peppers & reduced the salt. And lastly I cooked in the air fryer 160 degrees for 25 minutes since I’m a disaster with cooking on a stove top haha.
Victoria Corcoran I know!!! Why take off the best bit! You can always try ordering boneless skin-on thighs from a butcher in bulk and then freezing them in more manageable quantities 😊😁
Sara Fonseca Trader Joe’s sells boneless skin on, if you have one near you. You could also always ask any butcher at most supermarkets to remove the bones
How do you keep the chicken skin on the thigh meat? So often, I find that chicken slips right off either before or during the cooking process. Great looking recipe - I will definitely be trying this!
This looks so delicious as always.hey marrino wt happened ur garlic powder?is it roasted or different someway?my one is white..how's it going brown clour.such a amazing colour.pls tell me why that
Great vid, as always. I'll have to get my hands on some sichuan peppercorns! Marion, do you have a primer on Asian staples? As you know, the real estate in our fridges is always at a premium, so I was wondering which sauces and seasonings need to be stored in the fridge (and how long they will last) and which will go on a shelf. Sometimes I buy things at my Asian market but I can't tell if it needs to be refridgerated, which is my default. With all my American, Mexican, Italian, etc condiments, I barely have any room for my groceries and my leftovers! :-) A video or blog post with some basics on setting up an Asian pantry would be soooo helpful! Have a wonderful day and God bless you, your family and all your viewers!
For me personally I couldn't eat deep fried food as I have a fragile throat that could go swollen easily if I eat deep fried food. So anything grilled is perfect for me, and this is no exception, stunning! Thanks Queen Marion for this lovely recipe, really appreciate it so much!
As well as stocking your awesome range of Marion’s Kitchen sauces, Coles in Australia seems to have just started stocking chicken thigh fillets with skin on. Yay! 🎉 Now there are two reasons to go to Coles. Thanks for the recipe, it looks delicious.
Hi Marion, if you say soy sauce, wich sauce do you mean? 'Cause in my asian store there is a range of soy sauces. Light, mushroom etc. So wich one do I choose?? Thank you so much for sharing all your recipes. 💖
Hi, Marion. Can you talk more about Shaoxing wine? I’m in the states and not sure what I’m looking for in quality (if that even matters). How should it look? How should it smell? Amazon has some, but with mixed reviews. THANKS!
I've noticed your garlic powder is a lot darker than what we have here in the U.S., is it toasted or different in some way? Ours is white almost like salt.
Pat Patrix Hi Pat, yes I agree it looks darker than the garlic powder I’ve used in the USA or Australia. But the flavour is the same in my opinion. It might that it’s hotter here in Thailand or the humidity has an effect 😊
I use vinegar.lemon juice. salt. pepper .Tyme. onion powder. garlic powder. and a stick margarine butter cook all that together and let cool then marinate your chicken in it.
We just had this for dinner.. sooo good! Our chicken didn't look as pretty as how you've done it hahhaha.. but delicious nevertheless! My first time to use Szechuan pepper.. adds great flavour! Thank you for sharing such recipe!
Kudos to your camera person. The camera work, slow shots and Marion’s presentation are very good....may I kindly suggest lowering the music volume, though. The food is delicious!
I've tried so many of your recipes and this is another one to add to the list. Do you have a recipe for Hainanese chicken thats sort of simple for the average person to make? Would love to see a video on that! love youuuuu :)
tracy sedgwick Awesome! So happy to know you’ve been enjoying my recipes Tracy! And I haven’t done a Hainanese chicken but I’ve don’t the Thai version. I’ll had the Hainan version to my list of videos to create! And here’s the Thai version in the meantime ua-cam.com/video/HmV9oy0ptzo/v-deo.html
I just tried this recipe. Let us be clear: this has no right being so stupidly good for how simple it is. This is the kind of recipe that gets you compliments up the wazoo when you know you couldn't cook if your life depended on it. If I ever have kids, this recipe will go in their 'Dad's cooking book for a college kid whose parents don't give 'em quite as much money as they want'.
Marion, it is possible to make this with the bone on? Please make one recipe with the bone on because I'm too lazy to debone it 😅 or you can suggest me what recipe is suitable with the bone on chicken
I'm curious, does this not turn out to be a little salty? One would think that with two soy sauces in the marinade + a finishing sprinkle of what is essentially 30-40% salt, it would be salty? I've got all the ingredients for this one (from trying out your other recipes) so I think I'll give this one a shot anyway :)
A-Ma-Zing. I just did it and used the leftover juice/scrapes to fry some rice (you know...quarantine). Incredible flavor. Thanks Marion!
Just tried making this for my lunch today!

Only Marion I look forward to when I open UA-cam after I'm done with chores at night and kids are in bed. Ugh day done. Sips wine or beer.
When you are really tired yet wants a home cooked meal. This is my go to chicken recipe. Thanks Marion.
You are so welcome 😊 -Team Marion's Kitchen

We cooked this recipe tonight and it was amazing! The pepper salt does a magic.
Cooked this last night. My 16 year old son had a bite of the chicken and said it was so delicious that it made him cry. My daughter and I agreed after our first bite .... tears of pure joy!
Marion you are just amazing! Your posting frequency and the quality of your videos are just top-notch!

Hi Marion. Ive tried this chicken recipe last night, only using black.pepper corn and its amazing. My family loved the chicken and they thought i grilled it. Love all your videos Marion.
Interesting technique with the wax paper and the pan on top to get it crisp and no mess !!
This recipe couldn't be any simpler and yet it makes my stomach growling like a beast. 🤤

It looks so delicious and mouthwatering food. My God Marion you’re so good at this !
kcgame 123 aw thank you!
Marion: Lifts up the chicken effortlessly
me: VIOLENTLY SCRAPING MY STICKY PAN
hahahahaha too funny!!!
You need better cookware. I always tell people you need 3 types. A great stainless set, a great cast iron kit, and some ceramic. Do NOT buy the garbage they sell at Walmart.....
ArmyRetGuy still, all depends on the knowledge of the guy, like my mom sear a steak using ceramic pan 🤭 we cleary have 2 cast iron skillets
Feraldo Rozanandy I cant help ya there. You and your mom need to have a serious steak related discussion.... LOL
YOLO Biss The chicken is not ready to flip yet. If it’s seared perfectly, it should release from the pan easily. Good luck!

This is my new go to recipie on a weeknight, the Sichuan pepper salt is pure magic !! Thanks Marion :), your food makes me happy!
Thank you for the recipe Marion!! I've had a really happy day shopping for all the ingredients and excited to make this!! It's the little things in life :D

Aesthetically pleasing as always, Marion! ❤
Can you make Cambodian stuffed angel wings video? Would love to watch that and tips on deboning the wings . i love ur videos and recipes 😋
So easy to do and never had a chicken so tender and juicy. A most to do. This would also make an excellent chicken burger or sandwich. Thx
Marion.... You're a genius!
Garlic powder idea so good, always use cloves just because 👍
Wow marion! You’ve done it again! 😍
Wish the supermarkets would offer the choice of skin on chicken thighs in Australia. This recipe looks amazing.
Victoria Corcoran I know!!! Why take off the best bit! You can always try ordering boneless skin-on thighs from a butcher in bulk and then freezing them in more manageable quantities 😊😁

I am here for the recipe and also for her ear rings😍😍😚 only Marion’s fam will understand this😚😚.
Smiling Shivani 😁😁😁❤️
Marion's Kitchen i love your ear rings collection 🤩🤩. Thank you for the heart😍
you can always use a pan mesh screen to stop the oil splatter
It's not the splatter it is the weighting down that she put the paper on for
Looks great. I'm gonna try this tmr night for dinner!
Why won’t you spell out the whole word TOMORROW??!
Loc Duong so how was it? Base on your feedback I might make it tmr😄
So classy. Simple yet elegant😊😊

I've noticed your garlic powder is a lot darker than what we have here in the U.S., is it toasted or different in some way? Ours is white almost like salt.
Yea. That always gets me too is the color of the garlic powder. It reminds me of the color of turmeric whenever she uses it.
@Ashvin Vaidyanathan no.
@Ashvin Vaidyanathan that doesn't answer the question. I just want to know where she gets her garlic powder from, chill out.
Pat Patrix not from your brand of laziness
Pat Patrix Hi Pat, yes I agree it looks darker than the garlic powder I’ve used in the USA or Australia. But the flavour is the same in my opinion. It might that it’s hotter here in Thailand or the humidity has an effect 😊

You can try to sear the chicken on the pan on each side, then finish in the oven.
Marion what is the name of the pepper that u add together
Black pepper+ salt + .......?
I wonder how often do you switch for a new pan and get rid of the old?
