Hi Karen I didn’t think you would be back so soon. So sorry hearing about the loss of your relative.🥲 We had two close friends that passed away 6 months apart and that was really hard for our family. Thank you so much for spending time with us and sharing your beautiful stitching. Santa’s are so cute.😘
Thank you so much for your comment. I appreciate it. Happy stitching. Best, K
Another great one. Your 2023 finishes are wonderful, your big ones are gorgeous! You inspire me with each video to become more organized with my stitching projects, thank you. You Serendipity Quilt is wonderful. I know what it's like to booboo and get angry enough with yourself that you don't want to pick the quilt back up but your story of pulling out those stitches is motivation for me to pull a couple old ones out. See ya next time!
Thank you for letting me know that I am not alone in wanting to ignore mistakes, but ultimately getting them fixed. Happy stitching. Best, K
I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom on New Year’s Day. You have amazing finishes for last year. Your quilting is so beautiful and I always enjoy seeing your projects. Happy stitching and quilting!
Thank you so much. Best, K
My thoughts and prayers for you and your family regarding your loss. You are so organized after making the trip from Florida to Michigan to Kentucky, so give yourself some slack! Your stitching and your finishes are beautiful. Good to see you again and hope you have a blessed New Year!
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my video. I appreciate it very much. Keeping busy with stitching is very therapeutic. See you again soon. Best, K
Hi Karen! So sorry to hear about the loss in your family. Thoughts and prayers go out to you. Your finishes are absolutely beautiful! Nice work! Love your videos! Happy new year!!
I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed seeing them. See you again soon. Best, K
Karen, so sorry for your loss. Your finishes are all amazing. Love, love, love Jane Hopkins, and it really is an accomplishment. Interesting what you say about it being like full coverage stitching. I've got her kitted though still undecided about fabric. Your hummingbird pillow is adorable and beautifully finished. And all your WIPs look amazing too. Your quilt also looks great, and it's good you decided to stick with it and eventually unpick all those teeny stitches. Take care, and happy stitching.
Thanks so much for your comment. Happy stitching. Best, K
Happy New Year! I am sorry to hear that you had to travel to Michigan for a funeral. I just returned from Michigan after spending Christmas with my son. You amaze me with how much stitching you accomplish. All your projects are just beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for your comment. I appreciate it. Best, K
Sorry for your family loss. How wonderful that you got into Nicola’s class. I met her last fall in upstate NY. I’m in her group next fall for the Great British Sampler Comes to America. I’m loving your progress on Maria. Happy Stitching.
Kathy, Thank you so much for your comment. I am really looking forward to being in Nicola's class. Is Great British Sampler Comes to America at Hobby House? It is probably already closed but I would love to go if I could swing it. Happy stitching. Best, K
Very enjoyable! We have such similar tastes and I have stitched or have a WIP in so many of the patterns you showed today. I still can’t believe this is a new year but believe stitching keeps me sane and looking back makes me remember what was happening while I was working on my piece.
Thanks so much. Best, K
Beautiful WIPS and finishes, Karen! Saddened to hear about your family’s loss.
Happy stitching in 2024! 🧵🪡
Thank you so much. Best, K
I’m so sorry for your loss!
Thank you so much. Best, K
I enjoyed seeing all your beautiful finishes and WIPs again. I hate to tell you, you aren’t the first to make that kind of quilting mistake. LOL. I have spent a sizable amount of time frogging too. My perfectionist personality doesn’t
allow it to remain. 🤷🏼♂️ Thanks for sharing your human side❣️
We are two of a kind. I have "Fix Your Mistakes" framed on the wall of my sewing room. I know stitchers say keep moving forward, but it really bothers me. I will do that if the mistake is small and doesn't impact the other counting, but it still bothers me. Happy stitching. Best, K
So sorry to hear about your family member.
I think you did well with 25 finishes, you stitched some big pieces!
Your quilts are always beautiful.
Happy New Year!
Marilyn
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my video. I appreciate it. I am happy to know that you enjoyed seeing my finishes. See you again soon. Best, K
Hi Karen. So glad you are back in KY.
Watching your Santa display I must say that your 1984 and 1991 are reversed. Did not know if it mattered to you but I thought I would let you know.
Your finishes are so gorgeous. Wish I were that prolific. Your WIP parade was great.
Happy stitching
Scarlett. Julia's sister
I was completely mixed up as to the years of the PS Santas. Thanks for stopping by. Best, K
So sorry to hear about the death in your family. It must have been a taxing few weeks for you. You had some incredible finishes this year. It was lovely to see them again! Oh my gosh...that story about the pebbling on the quilt made it sound anything but serendipitous! 😂. I'm glad you found the nerve to push through and finish it because it's absolutely beautiful! Be well!
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my video. I appreciate your empathy concerning taking out the stitches on that pebbling. See you again soon. Best, K
My condolences for your loss. It’s tough to take a trip when you weren’t expecting to. Your finishes are Incredible! Especially Jane Hopkins. Your 2023 Magnus Opus! I think you made the right choice to go to the retreat with Nicola Parkman. That will be a wonderful retreat! Here’s to a Happy New Year to you with your needles singing, and lots of accomplishments.
Rose, Thank you so much for your comment. I will now call Jane my Magnus Opus. Happy stitching. Best, K
Thinking of you all. I am so very sorry to hear that you've had a death in your family. Please take care of yourself. Wishing you good health and much happiness in this New Year. My best in everything you do. Safe travels going back to Florida. Lots of people on the roads these days! I will see you next time. I always enjoy watching you to see what you've been doing!!! You've had alot of amazing finishes in 2023!! Congratulations!!!! 😊❤❤❤ Barbara S.
Barbara, Thank you so much for your comment. I appreciate it. Happy stitching. Best, K
Happy New Year. Sorry to hear of the loss of your relative. Your quilts are so inspiring and a beautiful choice of colour. Love the Santas . The New Year start is a gem and look forward to seeing your progress. Loved your finishes. I am waiting to take my Jane Parson to the framers at the end of January. Happy stitching
Thank you so much for your comment on my video. Wasn't the Jane Parson sample sweet to stitch? I have to get mine framed too. Happy stitching. Best, K
I would highly recommend Amy Mitten’s book AUTOPSY OF THE MONTENGRIN STITCH - EXHUMED. It is a must have, shows how to stitch in every direction! She is out of Canada
You are an angel. Thank you for the heads up of that book. It is on my list to buy. Happy stitching. Best, K
Lovely to see you tonight Karen. So sorry for your loss RIP.
Loved seeing all your finishes again, especially Jane. She really is a masterpiece 👏👏👏
The quilt is beautiful, the detail is incredible.
Hope you can settle back into your stitching routine soon.
Take care, best wishes from 🇮🇪
AnneMarie, Thank you so much for your comment. I really appreciate my loyal followers. Happy stitching. Best, K
I'm so sorry about the death in your family. It's hard anytime of year, but especially during the holidays. Give yourself grace, Karen. I can't believe you were organized enough to get a flosstube out. I hope the rest of your year is delightful and full of blessings.
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my video. I appreciate it. Between my Book of Days and my Stitching Journal from FQS it was pretty easy to know what pieces I had finished in 2023. Gathering them from around the house was a task. Every Flosstuber does it. See you again soon. Best, K
Sorry to hear about your loss, Karen. I am amazed at what you accomplished in 2023. You are so inspiring. Your stitching is so beautiful. Your quilting is beyond anything I have ever seen. Happy new year!!
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. Happy stitching. Best, K
Maybe the animals that are hanging from Santa are toys??? I have a birthday start every year... even if I haven't finished previous birthday starts!
I didn't think about them being toys since it is an ark. Good thought. Thanks for sharing that. I may follow your lead and have a new b'day start even if Red Deer isn't finished. See you again soon. Best, K
What a fabulous finish and wip parade! I’m always amazed every time at how productive you are! I’m not a quilter but I was feeling your pain thinking about what you had to rip on that quilt!
Thank you so much for your comment. As mad as I was at myself, I was also afraid that I would put a hole in the fabric. Fortunately, that didn't happen. Happy stitching. Best, K
Karen would you mind sharing where you purchased the color and cotton cottage stone. It looks perfect for the smith sampler which I am anxious to start. Your finishes are very impressive. Thanks
I found that fabric at Kitten Stitcher. Hope she still has some for you. Best, K
So sorry to hear of your loss. I am sorry I won’t be seeing you at Stitch Con this year. We share the same birthday month! What is the date of yours? Mine is the 11th. We will have to share what our birthday start will be. Happy New Year!
Thank you so much for your comment. My b'day is on the 22nd, George Washington's b'day. No one remembers that any more because we now honor all Presidents on Presidents Day. When I was growing up February 12 was for Lincoln, and 22 was for George. That was part of the elementary curriculum. Times change. I will be starting the Smith Sampler on my b'day. Keep in touch. Best, K
Cannot see the shadow on the quilt where you took stitches out. Quilt looks great.
Thanks for letting me know that you don't see the picked out area. I am probably too aware of it to ignore it. Happy stitching. Best, K
Happy New Year, Karen. You indicated you stitched using two strands of floss on Christmas at Hollyberry Farms. Do you always use two strands of floss on 36 ct linen? Thanks.
I used two strands on that piece because that is what the pattern said. I have now had two pieces that I think are too full with two strands on 36, so my new rule is one strand on 36 ct. Happy stitching. Best, K
Can you tell me the name of your pattern for I Wish You Lived Next Door? Where can i find it.
It is from Heartstring Samplery. You should be able to find it in any LNS or online store. Happy stitching. Best, K
Beautiful finishes
Do you sleep ?
