What a joy you are! So lovely to hear people admit a mistake and demonstrate how to rectify it. And refreshing to know people still take the time to say thank you and at the same time share their special talents. Your quilt is nothing short of amazing... Thank you
You’re very talented! I like the way you just dive into new things. I was amazed at how you saw a quilt background you liked, sketched it until you saw what you liked, then quilted it. It turned out beautifully and really adds to your quilt. 🩷 Festive Forest has so much stitching - you’ve made great progress and it looks beautiful. I bet you can get it finished before the Jingle Ball. ☺️
Great to see you this evening Karen. I love the jingle ball piece you are stitching. I look forward to seeing it completed. Thank you for explaining about the cutter. Tannenbaum is absolutely beautiful, the quilting looks great 👏👏👏 Hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving. Though we don't celebrate it here in Ireland, I'm certainly grateful for the Flosstube community & the pleasure it's brought to my life. Take care, best wishes from 🇮🇪
AnneMarie, I always appreciate your comments. You have been with me from the beginning. I really wish we could meet in person someday. Happy stitching. Best, K
Your Festive Forest is coming along beautifully, you will finish it in time. I absolutely love your ornament quilting design it is stunning, that will win a Blue Ribbon at the Fair in 2025!!!
Lovely work! I so enjoy seeing your quilting (the ornament quilting is amazing) and stitching. Your class project for the Jingle Ball is going to be stunning!
I enjoy seeing your quilting projects in addition to your beautiful cross stitch pieces. Your quilted Christmas ornaments around the Christmas tree are gorgeous!
Hi Karen your cross stitch & quilting is just so beautiful, what l wouldn’t give to have a beautiful handmade quilt on my bed ,l have always loved them ,but have never tried to make one ,happy stitching and quilting Karen .😘
Karen you look lovely today!!! Your quilt I adore and your quilting is magical - Oh those ornaments and your placement!!! I love heavy quilting also but this is a stunner. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.
I am feverishly working on Festive Forest as well. And I am not even finished with the leftmost section! Always enjoy seeing your stitching and your quilts. Tannenbaum is gorgeous.
Thank you for sharing your progress and for the compliment on Tannenbaum. Fingers crossed we can get it done. I am rooting for you. Happy stitching! Best, K
Cindy, That has happened to me many times also. It is very annoying. I appreciate that you took the time to reach out again. Thank you for the compliment on Tannenbaum. Happy stitching. Best, K
Thank you for letting me know that you are also working on Festive Forest. I would love to meet you at the ball. Please introduce yourself to me if we are in the same room. Happy stitching. Best, K
Karen, your quilting on Tannenbaum is wonderful! It looks just perfect for that quilt....well done!🌲 My favorite not-quite-black DMC floss is 3371 - I use it all the time. Happy Thanksgiving to you!
I'm so glad you like the quilting! I agree about 3371; that would be a great choice for my snow day project. Thanks for the reminder. Happy stitching. Best, K
I’m hoping to get my sewing space set up so I can finally stitch up my Tannenbaum. I’m so glad Edyta Sitar is doing this. Your quilting is beautiful. I love the jingle ball piece you chose. Blue Flower is a favorite designer of mine. Glad you got the circle cutter figured out. It’s nice to have smooth cut circles for finishing. Happy stitching and Happy Thanksgiving!
Great finish on the drum & roll. I have stitched them, just need to finish. Maybe use DMC 3799 for the Snowman boots, its a charcoal color. Your tree quilt is very, very pretty. Marilyn
Marilyn, thank you so much for your comment. I have gotten several suggestions for the boots. I agree that 3799 is a great choice. Happy stitching. Best, K
You might try 3799 for the snowman's shoes. I also took the opportunity to stitch on a snow day project the day it snowed. It has me actually looking forward to snow this year.
I'll give that DMC number a try! Snow days are the perfect time to stitch, and I'm glad you are excited about them. I also find that I am looking forward to snow. It will help me not miss FL. Happy stitching. Best, K
Hi Karen! I love your Blue Flower forest piece. I can't wait to see how that's going to look once it's all together! Your quilt is just chef's kiss beautiful! I'm just amazed at all of those stitched ornaments on the background fabric. Do you quilt that freehand or do you program it into your long arm somehow? I'm not a quilter so all of this is a mystery to me 😂. Be well!
Maureen, Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my quilting. I do have some circle templates that allow me to stitch perfect circles. Other than that, I do entirely free hand quilting. If I can ever figure out a way to put my camera on my long arm, I would love to let everyone see how I quilt. Happy stitching. Best, K
Thank you so much for your comment and you loyal support. I appreciate the suggestions I am getting for floss for the snowman's boots. Happy stitching. Best, K
Your quilting looks great. I have the very same quilt kit for Tannenbaum, and I plan to work on it with the stitch a long. But I was considering changing the striped background fabric. Your stripes look perfect. Any tips on how to do that? It looks overwhelming. The ornament quilting is perfect.
It was just luck that the stripes seemed to come together so well. I just followed the cutting instructions in the pattern. Any neutral background would look wonderful with this pattern. Good luck with it. Happy stitching. Best, K
I love your quilting! How long did it take you to get comfortable with your longarm? I need to put a plan together to get over the intimidation factor. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁
It was a matter of small steps. I bought some inexpensive panels to practice stitching. But it is not all that easy. I took many classes, both online and in person to improve my skills. If you are in the space of learning to long arm quilt, I would really steer you to AQS shows. The teachers at those shows are excellent. Also, if there is ever an opportunity for you to go to an in-person hands on class, that would really help you. Let me know how you are doing. I would love to hear about your journey. Best, K

TGIF ... Maybe DMC # 3371 or 413 for Snowman's boots. I use scrapbook cases for some of my cross stitch charts & fabrics. They hold a lot.
Thank you so much for your comment and you loyal support. I appreciate the suggestions I am getting for floss for the snowman's boots. Happy stitching. Best, K
