    Dave compares them side by side on the showroom floor. There are significant differences. They did not just throw dual sport tires on the base scrambler.

    The spoke singing thing is GENIUS!!! Almost a, duh moment for me. Makes so much sense. I learn something every time I find a new video of yours, Dave. Thanks for the hard work and dedication.

    Dave, other than the paint job, 17" wheels, slip-on exhaust and handlebars, is there anything major difference between the Icon and the Cafe Racer? Do you think getting the Icon (about $3000 less than the cafe racer) and over time adding in the parts to turn it into a cafe racer be a good idea?

      Adding components as you go would absolutely be the way to go because you decide when you need them. That way you develop your motorcycle to meet your needs :)

      The fork rake is steeper, you won't be adding that on later. The forks are slightly shorter, the throttle is different as is the ecu set up. The wheels are smaller 17 in. just buy the Cafe Racer, I did.

      @@fourspooks4518 Yup. Hell of a fun bike. I got one last year, and am surprised they stopped making the Cafe Racer for 2021. I think they should make an 1100 version of it.

    Do you think can we do a proper touring on the desert sled like 300-400 miles for 2-3 weeks ?

    • @CatalystReactionSBW
      @CatalystReactionSBW  6 років тому

      Any bike will tour well if you set it up right most importantly, for ergonomics. Based on the load you put on the Sled, measure sag and see where it is. If you need stiffer springs, get them right away. Then you'll be able to enjoy your touring.

    So ,there are no adjustments recommendations, like on the icon video? Greetings

      Dave Williams, editor, replying here. Because both bikes were sold we couldn't touch them.

    So the desert sled is realy capable of doing off road? Amazing review as always

      Given the suspension provided it can go off road. What that means by your definition is of course unique to you. I wouldn't be launching it off berms nor doing tight technical trails but for sand and gravel you'd be smiling for days!

      Thank you very much for the answer, it seems very funny to ride indeed!

      Marc Tacco I see some moderns scramblers,urban enduro,desert sled,street scrambler doing some nasty stuff,obiously they are not 250cc 2 stroke 100kg bikes but they can do more than the actual big "adventure"bikes.
