It ended up actually being the Arnage that Ed Bolian talked about on VinWiki, so it has some UA-cam pedigree as well! I've owned it almost 3 years and have had to replace a couple pricey things (rear spheres for shocks, a new hood latch assembly and a new windshield wiper motor) but everything else has been regular/general maintenance and fixing minor cosmetic issues. It looks very close to the Arnage T you reviewed in your video, black with dark blue leather and turned aluminum trim everywhere. It has 61K miles and is my favorite car to take to car shows and Cars and Coffee events here in SW Ohio. Glad it made the list!

Agreed. Right along with with the Panamera, I'd add the vehicle it shares a lot of it's mechanicals and features with, the 958 Cayenne for the same reasons. Reliable (albeit with higher maintenance costs) fun, fast and handles better than a vehicle it's size has any right to. One leg up on the Panamera is that it tows my 23 ft wakeboard boat with ease. I've had an 11 Turbo for 3 1/2 years, and 40k miles. Higher than average maintenance costs on wear items (suspension and brakes) but really only one mechanical issue (water pump) it's now at 120k and I still love it. I've floated the idea of a Panamera for my wife but she's not interested, which is probably best for the pocket book.

I agree. Reliability is #1 when considering a vehicle practical. It doesn't matter how good it is if you can't count on it. I wanted something Wrangler-ish and ended up with an FJ Cruiser because of reliability concerns with used Jeeps ,Land Rovers, etc. Early 2000's Silverados (pre AFM) are built like an anvil and incredibly reliable also. I have an '02 2500HD 4x4 with 240k miles and never been into the engine farther than a water pump. Transmission original also, only 1 filter and fluid swap. I hope Doug's Land Cruiser isn't watching this because Doug just gave it the kiss of death. He said he plans on owning it for a really long time. Doug's RS2 and Defender remember hearing those same words right before they had a "for sale" sign slapped on them.

Did he really just put a photo of an LM002 and "practical" together? LMAO
The Duality of "Reliability"
Doug DeMuro: if it can move it's a dead-reliable practical vehicle
Scotty Kilmer: if it needs an oil change it's an unreliable hunk of junk money pit
I just realized that we have different definitions of the word, "practical".
Doug is the kind of guy who makes a list of practical cars that does not include even one practical car.
Doug is the kind of guy who floats in the air when he smells pie on a windowsill
That’s a unique one
Mercury Marauder.- fast (enough) 4 door, huge trunk, easy and cheap to fix, bullet proof drivetrain.
This last summer I switched out my G37 for a B8.5 Audi SQ5 and let me tell you as far as fun practicality goes the SQ is great. The supercharged 3.0 is very strong and now at stage 1 ECU and TCU it’s just all the more
What tuning company did you end up using? I was going to replace my crashed 9.5 S4 with a SQ5 but didn't want to part with S4 again
I personally hate the driving position of Q5s but even the non-S Q5 handles pretty well for an SUV
@M67v I drove a Q5 for a loaner car, but I don't remember the seating position. Is it more chair like and less bucket on the floor feeling?
@@aaron5222 The steering column reminds me of a school bus and my head is slightly behind the B-pillar. If I lower the seat it helps out a bit, but overall it feels awkward and somewhat confined. I should mention I drove a 2010 model.
Also the backseats were tight for some reason.

Hey Doug, are you ever gonna make videos on the Cars and Bids channel any more? I miss them😢 Anyway, keep doing what you’re doing!!!
Honorable mention: the original Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. They’re a cheap used SUV with the hottest V8 Chrysler made at the time, the 6.4 Hemi.
Bentley Arnage T you say... 🤔
Most of these cars...“Amazing”...yes, "Cool"....ok...."Quirky"....I agree...."Practical ?"....This car may break down alot....expect high maintenance ....may have reliability issues.....err....NO. Doug's opinion of a "Practical" car and mine are obviously different.
No problem still love this channel, still subscribed.
Hmm, I typically include reliability with practicality and I feel like Doug missed the mark on a lot of these. 😂
Key word "I"
So YOU. Most don't confuse reliability with practicality.
You're not gonna get a silverado and say "oh it's super practical" when in reality you mean "reliable" which they aren't so much.
@@youstolemyhandleyoutwat check the rest of the comments. General consensus seems to be how Doug missed the mark on this one
Change the fluids, keep it greased, exercise regularly.
The cars on this list are collector cars with a back seat. Nothing more
@@youstolemyhandleyoutwat Yes, it's my opinion that a vehicle that's got a high rate of leaving you and your family/belongings stranded is not practical. I mean, a vehicle's main purpose is to fulfill transport so how can reliability not be considered???
@@youstolemyhandleyoutwat That's not the original commenter said. He didn't say all reliable vehicles are practical. He said all practical cars have to be reliable
12 *practical* , fun used cars!
*immediately starts with a Bentley*
At the lower price point - you can’t go wrong with an E90 330i manual; rwd, manual gearbox, four doors. 155mph flat out.
I’ve always loved loved loved loved loved loved the 612ever since we saw Jeremy taking on that challenge to the ski area years ago
I would like to see the list of fun practical cars that do not cost a fortune. Like, in the range from 5 000 to 15 000 $
Doug is the kind of guy to put $100K+ cars on a list of practical used cars.
That large wire hitting doug's account changed what he considers a value.

2013-2016 Mazda CX-5 Manual 6-Speed. Spacious, fun to drive, great mpg, reliable, higher ride height for ground clearance and visibility.
E55 s were reliable in the powertrain but you really want a later W210. The 211 was a similar powertrain but the issue with them is the brakes. They had the brake by wire that Merc put on everything back then and eventually abandoned because it was unreliable and very expensive. Also, the W211 has less back seat room.
All the SL's were SBC brake by wire and if they're fixed by the recall, the brakes work reliably. Problem is some people don't know to take the cars in for the fix.
Cool is cool because of rarity
Practical means you can use it daily and take it to the grocery store
1) 1st gen manual Taurus SHO
2) Jeep Wrangler TJ Rubicon
3) Acura integra type R
4) STI Forester
5) Terminator mustang Cobra
6) SVT Lighting
7) Supra Turbo
8) Nissan GT-R
9) GMC Typhoon
10) Chevy (Holden) SS
This video has a very strong "Doug has these for sale on cars and bids" feeling to it, almost to the point that I wonder if it shouldn't be labeled as sponsored content.
Doug the kind of guy to suggest 12 practical, fun cars.... First one 80k.
I think that Porsche Carrera he just bought has altered his brain on what he thinks fun practical cars are.
@@gregorytolson1648 when your bank balance suddenly increases, things that were expensive yesterday are no longer. Not begrudging Dougs success or bank balance, as he's earned it with great content and hardwork, but come on Doug, let's see a 10k version.
Doug, this list is ridiculous. I love it.
I think a fun video idea could be cars that were sold in Canada, but not in the US! Stuff like the Mercedes B-Class, Nissan Micra, Pontiac Wave, etc. Very quirky stuff!
We also got the Kia Rondo 2nd gen, Chevrolet Orlando van, newer Kia Forte5 hatch, and the Mercedes A-Class and A35 hatchback, something that the US truly missed out on.
The Evora does not have 4 seats. If you think it has 4 seats, you have not seen an Evora. The Subaru Brat is more of a 4 seater than an Evora
Doug is the kind of guy to make a list of practical fun cars with a car that he says will “break down all the time.”
And another that is “terrible car, horrible to drive, unreliable.”
Back in '14 I flew with a guy who's Air Force call sign was "Scooter" and we went to Mobile for a 64 hour layover. He borrowed a locals truck and it was the original Raptor with the 6.2 liter engine, 400 hp. That truck was awesome! Great sound system, I liked the seats, and while it was peppy, I wouldn't call it fast, it is pretty heavy. But if I were to buy a truck, THAT would be the one.
Great choice!

got my '14 Evora S back in September based on your early reviews. Regularly take my little kids (5 and 4)in the back seat for shirt trips. ILOVE this car!
Imo a 2014 Porsche Panamera is the best, it's the facelift year with mondern taillights so it looks like a mondern car
I like it best because it's a sports car first, with actual nice usable back seats and a big open hatchback trunk second
Doug is a type of guy who thinks about other people having fun with their families
I bought a 1992 E34 525i Touring, super fun, reliable and really practical.
The 1992 model came without the vanoss system so i don't have to worry about that
👍
And the M50B25 is easily tunable
I’m glad you mentioned this I’ve been considering a vintage Corvette. I really got a stick to the Trans Am for that backseat space.
LOTUS.... Lot's of trouble, usually serious!
I wanted an Evora S badly. Love the way it looks and the fact that you almost never see them on the road. However, I quickly came to my senses after hearing wild stories about the Lotus dealership experience.
every time I hear anything related to the worlds “Lotus” and “dealership”, I remember Ed Bolian explaining his tactics to selling Lotuses, one of them being literally trying to talk the customer out of buying one. describing how they’re basically road legal track cars with very little in terms of practicality, telling them what they’re getting into, etc, and it just made customers want them more. Very interesting and weird, but apparently worked for them

Doug you’re an amazing creator but this ain’t it chief
The Saab 9-5 Aero, available with a 5-speed manual gearbox in sedan or wagon (sport combi) versions. 2.3L 4-cyl turbo, 250 hp. Fun to drive and practical.
I love that Doug considers Ferraris and Bentleys "practical". 😆
Someone with a Lamborghini LM002 stayed at our hotel last year at Monterey car week. He drove it out of the garage and the engine caught fire! Beware potential owners!
Love the lm002 fun off-roader in forza. Still is pretty quick on par with a 1st gen raptor.
Forza Horizon... Where the rest of us go to drive cool cars
3:40 "dont actually do this, but it would be incredibly fun" classic Doug to say that kind of stuff😂😂

The 1999 Toyota Camry was the best fun, used, practical car on this list. Hands down.

I was actually looking for practical vehicles on a budget. Was thinking MPVs, Wagons...at realistic middle class- affordable prices. Here I am...looking at DOug suggesting Ferraris, Bentleys and Cadillacs... :(
Funny enough, just this morning I was looking at a $25k used raptor and thinking that it would be awesome and practical. I have been legitimately considering it
Some others of note:
Volvo V70R
Chevy SS
Ford Taurus SHO/Flex Limited/Explorer Sport (same drivetrain, different bodies)
Mazdaspeed 3
Pontiac G8
If the Bentley Arnage T is 30k tell us whyyyyy
If it is indeed terribly unreliable, what is the average yearly cost of maintenance and repairs? Might be salient in determining practicality, lol

I used to drive an L300 Delica, imported to Canada shortly after her 15th birthday. A really nice ride, almost a Japanese Range Rover.
As the owner of a V1 CTS-V with that wonderful LS6 engine, I've been waiting for you to talk about it so it will rise in value faster.
Hey Doug, I have been using a 2020 Lotus Evora GT as my Sole car for the last 2 years. (Feb 12th was my anniversary when I bought it NEW at 1100 miles on it). It now has currently 54,700+ Miles on the ODO. It literally its the perfect daily. Fast, nimble, Manual, Mid engine. Is as of right now, the most reliable car i have ever owned. I did 10 Oil changes as of now.
Ask me anything.
Kind of surprised to not see a Grand Cherokee SRT. i know Doug is a fan of them.
I think that what takes away from making the body lines of the 612 stand out, is the wheel design. Really nice car.
I think any 4x4 off roader like Subaru Forester or any car you can lift a little bit is cool you can have fun with your family/friends driving on fields or forrest
