I used to be a carpenter in the Carpenters Union local 630 out of Long Beach , Ca back in the late '80s early 90s before moving over finish off my education. My last job though was working on the brand new Century Freeway the 105 , one of the oath memorable experiences in my life because while working on the car pool lanes of the 110 to 105 that were over 100' tall I remember standing on a beam in the middle of the night being 18 years old and looking at the city of Los Angeles and the huge construction site below me and was just thinking how cool we build such magnificent structures that are 100's of times larger than humans are tall. Just incredible!!!
But I really love dam construction for some reason. Thank you for the awsome video!!!!
Great explanation, Thanks!
Should have gotten these engineers to the Oroville Dam
As per Geo. Conditions need to consult and propose the design of a double arch dam may be now considering for the subject site which will be suitable due to the embankments & bedding strata look like showing in pictures now, that’s why must be see and study to implementations of some other options regarding the situations>???
So much complexity & money just to wash a mane.
Yes due to the underground settlement conditions like much more cracks, at large scale voids, weak zones strata of rock & soil formations, fracture areas by earthquakes & sinkholes develops as per global environmental issues comes up from last 50 years and still going on regarding the subject scenario, So now it is time to need think about and find out the solutions for the new dams & reservoirs designs and constructions considering up to operational stage in hydro sector time frame for the next future>???
I would prefer to see a river....
Funny how the Bay Area gets a new dam, but the farmers in the Central Valley get jack shit.
