In my opinion there is nothing in this world that matches the sight of an Express Steam Train hauling 10 or so handsome coaches at 70 to 80 miles per hour through a main line station whistling its head off!!! ( Probably best to qualify that I’m an 86 year old Ex-Brit and biased as hell).
Or you have a soul and steam is at the heart of it. So Sir I couldn’t agree with you more. I love them,,,with steam trains you don’t just see them you feel them. Beautiful pieces of British Engineering. Respect to those that built them maintained them and more importantly controlled these magnificent beast. Being on the foot plate at night full chat man,,I d be scared stiff but you know what they say the closer to death you are the more you feel alive. Maybe that was what drove them men to do such job?. They was the early adrenaline junkies and doing this was there fix. So again much respect to those men.
I'm a 31 year old Brit and think that Steam Trains are the best trains, diesel and Electric trains have no character like Steam does 👌🏻 I hope they'll be around forever, so future generations can enjoy them too 👍🏻 They'll probably run on biocoal at some point in the future once coal is phased out.
