It.s a mk10 or mk12 villiers engine built in wolverhampton england. Some are built in Australia by norton villiers in ballerat victoria. A lot of english villiers engines were painted green and the Aussie engines were painted orange. Both engines did come out with recoil pull starts fitted not all engines did. I own both the english and australian engines mk/12.
@@TugboatMatt No, it is solid injection- this is a hot-bulb oil engine. There are two injection pumps driven by a cam in the governor housing. The air was for running a fuel-air burner for preheating the two hot bulbs.
Older relatives who worked on boat engines still remind the days when Bolinder used to be the most popular marine engine manufacturer.

What is the Compressor connected to it for?.
it feeds an air tank on the big one then all the built up airs used to start the big one moving
+Clayton Katz Thank's for answering my query but why is there batteries connected to it as well?.
i havent quite figured that one out maybe it has the ability for both air and electric start
+Clayton Katz Hopefully someone will set us straight but until then we will live in wonder. Thanks for replying.
