Very comprehensive. Nice job. There have been reports out there that flagship might include your local ABC affiliate & FOX Affiliate, which could bring it more "value" in some viewers minds. I forget which outlet reported that interesting wrinkle.
As a fellow K-State Alum, I approve that T-shirt... 😄. As for the ESPN App, I am surprised its not wrapped up in the Disney Bundle and just replace ESPN Plus. It would seem like it would draw more into that bundle service.
Thank you so much for the update. I’m really interested in seeing how this develops. When I had UA-cam TV I found I mainly watched sports programming. So I’m interested in seeing how this develops along with venue. I don’t really understand the connection with betting. Thank you again for the video.
Of course! We're interested as well to see how this all unfolds. At the $20ish rate, it's very competitive - in our opinion. They charge ~ $10 to services to offer the channel, and ESPN+ is at $11, so it'd create some value. However, this is Disney so they'll likely have multiple tiers and try to price people out. The ESPN Bet is simply another way for them to make money. We get they want to wrap it into the platform, but don't like it at all. We all see the ads for the different betting platforms, and ESPN pushes their betting platform in a growing amount of content. We'd like to see that go away, but know it won't.
I’d be interested in it but it really depends on how many gambling advertisements they have on there. I watch games with the kids and I don’t want them to grow up to be compulsive gambling addicts.
That's definitely a fair point, especially with how Disney is pushing ESPN Bet in its content currently. We personally try and tune it out and our kids are old enough that they understand the problems around gambling, but not everyone is in the same situation.
What is one thing you hope the ESPN standalone service will offer?

A bit too pricey for me… Thanks for sharing!

It will be interesting to see how they finally roll it out. We think Disney wants to have one location/platform, so time will tell. EMAW!

I like that Chargers hoodie with the original logo. Bolt Up ⚡️⚡️
Bolt Up!
I wanted to watch a game Saturday but couldn’t because it was espn 2. I am not paying beyond what I already pay
Depends on what espn app gives you to watch how many sports games you can watch
$20-30/month? I am out!
There will be people willing to pay $30, but not nearly enough to make up for lost cable income.
Imagine betting being a factor in all of this. Pete Rozelle must be spinning in his grave.
Ha, excellent point. We've full on embraced it from where we were only a few decades ago.

20-30 a month for a handful of channels isn't really worth it especially since I could get a lot more channels for twice that price with Sling
It will be very profitable because there targeting people who don't want a cable streaming just sports
Please let happen
