The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is the visitor center at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It features exhibits and displays, historic spacecraft and memorabilia, shows, two IMAX theaters, and a range of bus tours of the spaceport. "Space Shuttle Atlantis" is home to the real Space Shuttle Atlantis orbiter and the Shuttle Launch Experience, a simulated ride into space. The visitor complex also has daily presentations from a veteran NASA astronaut. A bus tour, included with admission, encompasses the separate Apollo/Saturn V Center. There were 1.7 million visitors to the visitor complex in 2016. Website: www.kennedyspacecenter.com There's many attractions at Kennedy space center.
cool video mate! as an Australian and a millennial i never saw the Challenger disaster in real time but during the pandemic i watched all the coverage and that spurred my interest in space shuttles i was 2 days old when STS 45 Atlantis launched on 24 March 1992 very cool!
Watching and enjoying your excellent video tour of the Kennedy Space Center visitor complex again as I make my journey through your RV TRIPS - Sceneries and Events playlist. Thank you for sharing my friend.
I loved visiting the space station. I know we were there for hours, but you could spend a full day exploring there couldn't you! Everything was so interesting and well done. I really enjoyed the bus tour - the blast walls were super cool to see. This place really made an impression on me when I was there. It's nice to relive it since I was here before my UA-cam days. Shout out to the Canada Arm (not crane) on the Atlantis!
This place needs 2 days to really do everything and then there's extras you can sign up for like Lunch with an Astronaut, Tour of the Vehicle Assembly Bldg. we also missed a lot of shows. Then they cut our bus tour to half, because of a special event for special invited guests only, We never found out what that was about. I met a few die hards there and they said Wednesdays and Thursdays during school days is the best time to go. The crawler would have been fun to see again. I was there with my youngest son in 2000 and it changed like day and night. Sorry for the Canadian (Arm). That's another thing we dint get to explore, all the side boots that explain these little details and how international the space program really is especially in the recent decade.
Thanks, these kind of things are food for your mind body AND soul. No matter what people's beliefs and criticism are about these type of places, it's what was accomplished that matters, the task alone was enormous, it's what man can do when challenged that's the lesson in these things that makes me wonder how powerful our mind is when we want.
You need an annual membership for the complex to thoroughly enjoy all there s to offer. I have been there 25 times in the past year and see new things witth each trip.
Don't know if I told you, but we can see the launches from our house! Great night launch, and we could see the rocket all the way into space! Watching and Supporting, Grabbing more of your time!
WOW! I guess you have just about been everywhere in the world, John! I sit back in my chair and travel around the world with you. This armchair traveling is easy and inexpensive, LOL. Thank you for your videos! #BestWishesAlways
Great opening scene! Your narration is great! Nice clear video and nice editing! Love the rockets! Loved the LEGO mock up of the rover at 08:48 Loved the description starting at 15:16 LIKE 26. Closed Caption is really goofy at 00:31 'this is naughty baby eagle I planted Rocketplane clan quality we caught the lamb now'... funny but I feel sorry for people with hearing difficulty that rely on CC.
Thanks for the very detailed comment I really appreciate the heads up on the CC, I dint do any CC on this video, i'm surprised it just pops us like that. I started doing CC on the Last 2 videos but never touched this one. I need to look into to it this weekend. Thank you again that could be annoying having to read.
I have lived near Hilton Head Island for almost five years. I really need to make a trip to this place. I haven’t been there since 1993, when I was in my early twenties and didn’t appreciate it properly. You pieced this tour together wonderfully.
John, this is a far more detailed, and modern tour than the one I had - they must have done some pretty serious upgrading to the entire location since I was there!
I only showed some but it was a lot to do for 2 days to really enjoy it. They also cut the bus tour to half because they were having some kind of special event at Cape Canaveral launch area. Compared to the late 90s it's like day and night.
wow I would love to go there it looks so unique and with all the information right up my alley of great places to visit thank you for showing us and inviting us in :) to see take off was spectcular :)
Thank you Rose & Sir Lancelot, I appreciate the comment. This is one place kids and adults enjoy. If you can make it for 2 days. Those take offs are very special to me gives me goose bumps because I remember most of them when I was growing up especially the first moon mission. I will never forget that day actually seeing a man on the moon!! was unheard of. Take care.
Loved the video....We are moving to that area within the next 3 months and wanted to see if the price of admission was worth going. Your video solved that problem. Love the history you gave as well throughout your video.
They used to have a replica shuttle "Explorer" on display. They relocated it to Houston Space Center now atop of the recent retired 747 carrier. Oh and they renamed it "Independence".
I love the way they put intro together for this video. This is one of those places I really want to visit. How was the KOA that you stayed at? Was there another park in the area that would have been better for exploring the Kennedy Space center if it had been available? I am new to your channel and looking forward to following along on your adventures.
Hi, thank you for the comment on the intro, it took me longer to edit that part than to edit the rest of the video LOL. I’m a sucker for history. the KOA in Titusville is great they have all you need and more and close to all attractions including Disney World but if you are visiting Kennedy Space Center I would have preferred Manatee Hammock Campground 7275 US-1, Titusville, FL 32780 The location is perfect, just south of the NASA causeway bridge and it’s on the west side of the intracoastal, you can see the NASA shuttle assembly building across the waterway, less than 5 minutes away. Perfect to see a launch from there if you can get reservations. I was there years ago an was very lucky to get a site. Thank you for joining my channel, I hope you enjoy.
Hi John, It’s Jane this time...bell won’t stay on...I had to un and re to get it to stay on. I really want to go to the space centers in Tx and FL. I loved the Kennedy memorial...would love to witness a launch from the campground you mentioned to Arbitrary Exploration. How many days did you spend there? Jane
I gave up on UA-cam lol. I check as much as I can with the main subs and always find at least one I dint get notified by mail or by the comment page. The Space Center is a great place. The one here in FL is more of a 2 day if you like taking your time. The campground we were in was for 2 nights, we also did Orlando Eye and it was great. If you want to see a Launch you may want to look at NASA’s webpage for the schedule and make reservations with the campground because it gets full quick from my understanding. .
Hey Greg, you watched a long one my friend. But then you are from Florida and can’t blame you, it’s a great place if you havent. Even there. I was just watching your Di Giorno review it was good. They should send some free pizza your way. See you around.
I visited here back about 20 years or so, saw a liftoff of a shuttle(when they were still doing them)from one of the viewing areas, all other areas were off limits, so I missed quite a bit. & I could use some free pizza !
