YES, it is worth it! Kennedy Space Center is awesome! If you can get down there when there is a SpaceX launch, it is an amazing experience! Also, if you go, don't miss the Astronaut Encounter, where you can listen to a presentation from a real astronaut, and ask them questions afterwards.
I think it was definitely worth it, especially for how close you are able to get to the launch pads and see what is going on with the current launches, who knows what you will see, maybe even a rocket getting moved from the launch pad!
The Explore Tour currently lasts two hours. It starts at the bus terminal at the main visitor complex and ends at the Apollo Saturn V Center. Time exploring the ASVC and the ride back to the main visitor complex will add an extra hour or so.
